Holder OK’d Fox Search Warrant, Lied To Congress

From Michael Isikoff at NBC News:

Holder OK’d search warrant for Fox News reporter’s private emails, official says

By Michael Isikoff | May 23, 2013

Attorney General Eric Holder signed off on a controversial search warrant that identified Fox News reporter James Rosen as a “possible co-conspirator” in violations of the Espionage Act and authorized seizure of his private emails, a law enforcement official told NBC News on Thursday.

And yet Mr. Holder denied any involvement in the IRS’s investigation of the news media when questioned by Congress just last week. (See below.)

The disclosure of the attorney general’s role came as President Barack Obama, in a major speech on his counterterrorism policy, said Holder had agreed to review Justice Department guidelines governing investigations that involve journalists…

Is that kind of Mr. Holder, to agree to investigate himself? Something tells me that Holder is going to conclude that Holder didn’t do anything wrong.

"I am troubled by the possibility that leak investigations may chill the investigative journalism that holds government accountable," Obama said. "Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs." …

So sayeth the man who had waged a jihad against Fox News and Rush Limbaugh, both directly and through his paid minions.

Meanwhile, Democrat Rep. Democrat Rep. Hank Johnson asked Holder about the DOJ’s actions against reporters, just last week. Mr. Holder claimed he had no involvement:

Holder: "First of all you’ve got a long way to go to try to prosecute the press for publication of material. This has not fared well in American history… In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy."

In fact, the top law enforcement officer in the land told Congress that he had never even heard of such a thing. And that he thought it would be wrong.

And yet we now know he signed off on the search warrant for Fox News.

And what do we do when nothing comes of all of this? This is clearly a criminal regime. When the system fails to correct obivious wrongs, what do we do? Just sit back and take it? Believe the lie that they have taken corrective actions, that those responsible have been held accountable? I guess Americans do not care, as long as they have their free-bes and American Idol.

I’m shocked, SHOCKED! There’s corruption in the Justice Department? You mean Mr. Holder, the man who authorized secret weapons shipments to Mexican drug cartels and encouraged radically violent groups like the Black Panthers to intimidate white voters was so rude and inconsiderate that he lied to a judge to authorize spying on the Fox News network?

We’re out of time my fellow citizens. If we can’t rouse ourselves now to flush out this rot and criminal perfidy, our country as we’ve known it is gone. Do you think its replacement will be better? It will not be. It will be nightmarish.

We are already living under the tyranny of a criminal regime.

As a result of the latest trifecta of scandals, we see that Nerobama and his adherents are altering our form of government and intimidating individual citizens, with a view to preventing them from exercising constitutionally protected rights and liberties –– fundamental rights and liberties that were dearly won after centuries of struggle.

In Nerobama’s new America, innocent people are treated as if they were criminals by those who work for the state, and predation on the innocent –– on his “enemies” –– is becoming institutionalized across-the-board as the new standard of behavior by a governing class that can impose its edicts based on whim, without regard to the Constitution, Bill of Rights, rule of law, ancient custom, or common decency.

Tigellinus-Holder, Hillary Clinton, IRS Acting Commissioner Steven Miller, former IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman, Democrat apparatchik Lois Lerner, and countless others may be called to appear before Congressional committees, but so what? When they appear they only lie or recuse themselves, pretend ignorance, or hide behind the Fifth Amendment, while they smugly chuckle and smirk about their crimes, secure in the knowledge that they are above the law. (For all intents and purposes, they are the law.)

What kind of sick people elect and support such a regime? Whoever they are, they seem to have lost their sense of smell.

For no matter how many outrages are committed against our freedoms and way of life, or against the Constitution, Bill of Rights, laws, customs, and Christian religion, and no matter how much destruction is inflicted upon our civilization, no matter how much wealth is destroyed, no matter how many military defeats are inflicted at the hands of barbarians, and no matter how bad economic conditions become, the American idiocracy will still vote predictably election after election.

The size, depth, and depravity of the moron vote is simply astonishing. Sensible people cannot fathom it. All reason and decency have fled.

Under these conditions, the predictable outcome of Nerobama’s reign will likely be some combination of the usual banana republic scenarios:

      1. national bankruptcy, chaos, and economic decline
      2. full blown dictatorship or rule by a cabal of elites
      3. military coups
      4. revolution and civil war
      5. Americans become refugees and leave the USA

You nailed it, Petronius. The wild card in all this, our armed forces, will probably decide the outcome. Because 50% of the population are brainless zombies, reform is almost impossible. If and when the economy tanks, the streets will be dangerous.

Think what it feels like to be a dedicated military man or woman. You’ve sworn allegiance to America and its Constitution, but you’re despised by the Ruling Class in D.C. that continues to endanger you, cut off your support, break promises, undermine our Founding Documents, our customs, and everything we stand for.

A war like the one that broke out in 1861 is impossible now, due to technology. Nobody can resist our technological army as it’s organized today. How much more criminality can our military stand?

This happened to Rome several times, and several good emperors came out of it. Augustus, Claudius, the Flavians, etc.

Our beloved Republic is probably dead, I’m very sad to say. It will be a fond memory, though, just as it was with the Roman citizenry; which never ceased wanting to bring it back.

      U.S. MARINES

      Wow…. great follow up, RiverO.

    • BannedbytheTaliban says:

Don’t count on the armed forces. The average grunt may feel betrayed and stired to action, but there is nothing in the current brass that says the military won’t toe the line. Don’t ever forget general is a political appointment.

    • Noyzmakr says:

I’d just like to point out that in the last few years we’ve added many more women, who seem to be naturally more liberal, to the military. Have you noticed all the sexual harrassment charges lately? Also, now we have openly gay soliders, many officers chosing retirement or charged with adultery or other misc. charges and forced out. Let’s not forget the obvious anti-christian attitude of the Pentagon.

All this adds up to the steady stream of patriotic, christian, heterosexual, red blooded american recruits we’ve counted on for centuries to defend us no longer feel welcome in the military. So we’re left with more of a left leaning, anti-christian military that will no longer be a conservative voting block but will also be more likely to follow orders to turn their weapons on “right wingers”.

We may be on our own.

    • Petronius says:

We are never on our own.

      Deo vindice.

    • Noyzmakr says:

Of course, I stand corrected. He is always on the side of truth.

    John Ashcroft
    Alberto Gonzales
    Paul D. Clement
    Peter Keisler.

Donald Rumsfeld was harassed into being replaced as well.

Obama amazingly kept Eric Holder on despite his long list of incompetent mishandlings.

Why is it every Republican official is called to step down, or apologize, and they do it! Meanwhile every democrat misfit winds up with some award by one of their front groups?

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, democrats are just better at politics, period. How else can you explain this stuff?

    • BannedbytheTaliban says:

Holder is not incompetent. He is doing exactly what he is ask to do, and doing it very well. It doesn’t matter if he gets caught. The tide has turned. The dependent class has gotten too big and will continue to vote democrat as long as the paychecks keep coming. Obama feels now is the time to go for the kill. And who is going to stop him? It will be interesting to see him scede power in 2016, if he does.

  3. Liberals Demise says:

Now he gets to investigate himself for any wrongdoing.
