Holder’s DOJ Sues To Protect Vote Fraud In Texas

From a cheering Washington Post:

Justice Department will challenge Texas Voter ID law

By Aaron Blake | August 22, 2013

The U.S. Justice Department announced Thursday that it will challenge Texas’s Voter ID law, saying it violates the Voting Rights Act, as well as the Constitution’s 14th and 15th Amendments.

And here we were thinking the Supreme Court had finally struck down the long out-dated and unnecessary ‘Voting Rights Act.’

In a separate case, the Justice Department will also join in a challenge to the state’s GOP-drawn redistricting plans.

Naturally. Only Democrats are allowed to ‘gerrymander.’

In fact, Illinois’s 4th Congressional district, the home of the Obama/Daley Democrat Party machine, is often cited as the worst example of gerrymandering along racial lines in the country. (See map above.)

The decisions come just weeks after the Supreme Court struck down part of the act that determines which jurisdictions require the Justice Department to approve any electoral changes before they become law. Texas had previously been subject to the so-called “preclearance.”

Justice Department officials have made clear that, despite the court’s decision, it will use other legal avenues to ensure that Voter ID laws and other legislation don’t infringe on the voting rights of minorities.

In other words, Messrs Obama and Holder don’t care what the Supreme Court rules. They make their own laws as they go along.

“Today’s action marks another step forward in the Justice Department’s continuing effort to protect the voting rights of all eligible Americans,” Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement. “We will not allow the Supreme Court’s recent decision to be interpreted as open season for states to pursue measures that suppress voting rights.” …

Holder means he will fight any measures that suppress the Democrat Party’s’ civil right to stuff the ballot box with illegal votes. After all, the concept of ‘one man one vote’ is inherently racist.

The department’s complain alleges that the Texas Voter ID law “was adopted with the purpose, and will have the result, of denying or abridging the right to vote on account of race, color, or membership in a language minority group.” It asks that the law be halted altogether…

And their proof is that minorities cannot possibly attain photo IDs. Even though the same federal government requires a photo ID for anyone to get welfare.

In the redistricting case, Perez v. Perry, the Justice Department will argue against the GOP state legislature’s congressional and state House redistricting maps, which were drawn in 2011, saying that they also suppress minority voters.

Those maps were not used in the 2012 election, as they were already being challenged in court and the Justice Department declined to approve them under preclearance. Instead, interim maps drawn by a three-judge panel were used…

The Justice Department is also looking at challenging a new law in North Carolina that includes Voter ID and several other measures that minority groups and Democrats say are designed to suppress the vote.

Of course. The Obama administration’s ‘War On The Ballot Box’ must go on everywhere on every front.

In this day and age you have to have proof of insurance, but not proof of being a citizen – go figure!

    D.

  2. These laws DO suppress votes. Illegal votes. I’m still stunned that the notion of asking for an ID being racist still flies anywhere. It’s an insult to the minority population at large, and an insult to everyone else with 2 or more brain cells to rub together. How do you survive in America without an ID of some kind.

The next time I’m asked for ID I’m going to scream bloody murder and sue for discrimination. I’m sure the folks at the liquor store will be surprised, but it’s totally unfair and discriminatory… right? Isn’t expensive Gin a civil right? Well, if it’s not, it oughta be. Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, a living wage, a job, free healthcare, a free education, freedom from debt (except to government), a free house, and really good GIN. Yeah, that sounds good.

The DOJ lawsuit is all about intimidation and harassment. They are not likely to win, but they want anyone who would dare oppose them to know they are going to be dragged through countless lawsuits and delaying in order to get their way, hoping it will deter any future ‘transgressions.’ Meanwhile they can gin up their base with constant demagoguery.

    “and really good GIN. ,”
” they can gin up their base …”

feeling a mighty powerful thirst coming on.
    Wild Turkey of course.
i still get “carded” at some stores for a photo ID.
” an insult to everyone else with 2 or more brain cells to rub together.”
i suppose these laws give the Napoleons a illusion of power.

    so, remind me here…….

I’m amazed by how blatant the administration now is about ignoring the law. The supreme court struck down the pre-clearance section of the act and Holder keeps trying to enforce it. I guess they figure the dems won’t be able to keep themselves in power if they crack down on voter fraud. After all when all the new illegals get amnesty they’ll need to find ways to vote even when they can’t legally. I always wonder that these people who get all these goverment benefits, cash checks, and buy booze/tobacco have to have a picture ID for that but they can’t be bothered to have one to vote? If someone is always going around without an ID on them then its probably because they’re up to no good and don’t want to be identified when the cops stop them.

I wonder how long it will take Holder to declare the voter ID laws racist and voter suppression even if states give the ID’s to people for free, drive them for free to the office to get the application processed, and basically do everything else to get them their ID to vote. The people who complain about not being able to get to the office or having time to do so seem to manage okay to request ballots to be mailed to them or show up at polling places. Of course then actually trying to prevent fraud would see alot of dems out of office. But then there might be more cases of democratic districts “finding” boxes of ballots in the trunks of cars of election officials after the offical ballot count is in that just happens to give the election to a dem (ala Franken). The only vote the democrats want to suppress is those who don’t vote the way that supports the democrats. Chicago should be first to have their redistricting looked at but that’s okay to gerrymander because it preserves racial districts even though its blatently obvious of what is going on by looking at a map. The same thing happens in Massachusetts when you look at state electoral voting districts.

Here in North Carolina, only the NAACP/blacks feels as if they are being
repressed. Never mind the fact they have to show I.D. for damn near everything.
ABC store, cash a check, pharmacy/drugstore, etal.
    Yet it only effects “them”.
    Victims of the victim class.
