Dems Won’t Apologize For Lying About O-Care

From the Politico:

House Democratic leaders won’t apologize for Obamacare promise

By SEUNG MIN KIM | November 14, 2013

President Barack Obama issued a rare presidential apology when he expressed remorse for promising to Americans that they could keep their insurance plans if they liked their current coverage.

Don’t expect the same “I’m sorry” from House Democratic leaders.

Er, for the record, Obama never said he was sorry in his endless news conference, either. The word "sorry" doesn’t appear anywhere in the transcript.

Even though the Politico is telling its low information readers this morning that Obama said he was sorry ten times in their article: ’10 ways President Obama said he’s sorry.’ But if you plow through it, the closest Obama ever came to saying he was sorry: "“It is hard. But I make no apologies for us taking this on because somebody, sooner or later, had to do it. I do make apologies for not having executed better over the last several months.” — Which is not much of an apology at all.

In a news conference Thursday after a meeting with White House officials, the top four Democrats said they won’t apologize for that promise, instead defending the language of the Affordable Care Act — their prized legislative achievement.

What did the Al Gore character say in ‘Love Story’? ‘Love Being a Democrat means never having to say you’re sorry.’

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who shepherded Obamacare through the House as speaker, said Obama was “very gracious” in making that apology but that the president’s words – in the context of the law – were “absolutely” precise.

Absolutely precisely wrong.

“There’s nothing in the Affordable Care Act that says that your insurance company should cancel you,” she told reporters. “That’s not what the Affordable Care Act is about. It simply didn’t happen.”

Apparently, Ms. Pelosi still has not read the law. So she doesn’t know what’s in it. The law (even now) prohibits any insurance plan that does not meet the Obama-Care mandates. (Obama is just not going to enforce it, until after the elections.)

She continued that she did not make a similar statement to her constituents, noting that she “would have if I ever met anybody that liked his or her plan, but that was not my experience.”

Yes, both her pilot and her limo driver rave about Obama-Care.

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said at the time the statement was made, it was accurate. The problems with the messaging came when people interpreted Obama’s comments “expansively.”

The old, ‘you’re just too stupid to understand plain English’ excuse.

“When [consumers] become aware of what they did not have, I don’t think there’s anything to apologize for,” added South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn, the third-ranking House Democrat.

Huh? Go back to sleep, Mr. Clyburn. Even you can’t throw the race card here.

House Democratic Caucus Chairman Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.) said he’s getting lots of “thank you” from his Los Angeles-area constituents – rather than demands for an apology…

At least a million Californian have already lost their insurance plans, thanks to Obama-Care. Let’s here what Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Becerra have to say come next November.

Why should any democrat apologize for Obamacare? It’s doing exactly what it was designed to do. It was designed as a stepping stone to single payer healthcare. Socialized medicine is that goal. A little discomfort is to be expected. The fact that that particular discomfort amounts to being forced into government slavery via politically administrated healthcare is neither here nor there. They passed it. DEMOCRATS did this. And except for the unexpected but totally predictable backlash they’re experiencing now that threatens to hurt them in the mid-terms, they’re all apparently happy with the results. That result being the obliteration of private insurance and the biggest power grab in history.

Nancy Pelosi never met anyone who was happy with their health insurance? That single statement is proof positive that our glorious political class is completely disconnected from those they are supposed to represent. Nancy must still be getting advice on governance from her 5 year old grandson. We should just put him in Washington. With the education of a 5 year old, he has a better grasp on right and wrong than Granny P.

    Look into Nancy’s: absolute bewilderment.

Obama’s apology was like the classic “I’m sorry you were offended.”

well nancy, we passed it and apparently you still don’t know what’s in it.
