1st your comments about the TVA are so true. Once the government gets a tax or program started, they never end it. Here in Illinois, we were promised (I’m told by my grandfather) that our toll roads would become freeways once they were paid off. Somehow the billions of $$ they’ve collected since the 50’s have not paid them off. They have however, made it much more convent to pay by allowing us the privilege to prepay and then deducting that amount electronically when driving through a tool gate. This is another reason why we as Americans should be marching in the streets with regard to BHO’s pork barrel spending projects/programs – once enacted, they will never go away.

This economy is not the time for the federal government to try out expensive experiments on “green living.” If libs wanted a so-called “carbon neutral” footprint they could have made it easier to build new nuclear power plants to supply energy for American needs.

So, the House has gone to a paperless-records system. How convenient. Now, not only will they be able to deny any and every bit of malfeasance, there won’t be any paper trail to hang them with.

And as for the carbon footprint reduction…..does this take into account the weekly air-commute from DC to their home district for Pelosi and the 434 other mental midgets who occupy our “House of Representatives”?

I doubt the Obamaloons know that coal gasification is cleaner and moire efficient. Liquid transport fuels are also cleaner and less polluting, real pollution not phoney CO2, when manufactured from coal. Coal to liquids processes can convert coal to diesel at about $30 a barrel oil equivalent.

Next they will all be driving clown cars, known locally as coffins on wheels. Come to think of it, that might not be all bad.

The green freaks are just sooooo dishonest.

OK: Switch from coal to all natural gas. Eliminates some of the carbon monoxide (CO).

But natural gas burns and creates what? Water and….. carbon dioxide (CO2) Greenhouse Gas Enemy Number One of these freaks.

You cannot escape gases such as either CO or CO2 in the creation of energy, either heat energy, or in the creation of electricity.

How about the electric car nonsense? In the minds of ninnies like Pelosi, it comes out of thin air – out of nothing. But there isn’t a source of electricity, unless its solar charged batteries (which is no practical solution), that does not create carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

Ooops….. except one. Nuclear.

BillK makes the mistaken assumption that Stretch cares whether her inance blather is accurate.

To the contrary, she knows that 53% will believe her unflinchingly (or rather, the 2% of the 53% that know who she is), and that the rest pay no attention to her and probaly don’t care anyway.

There is no penalty for lying (or for cheating on taxes, or for stealing from campaign funds, or for deviant behaviour or for etc etc etc etc)

I think the concept of wind power and solar technology powering our energy needs as a country is a big fat myth. Anyway, BillK, correct – someone should call Pelosi on her blather – she’s not a clue what she’s saying. p.s. Pelosi says the House has reduced its carbon footprint by 74%? – I think this calls for an independent audit…

BillK . . . you are spot on! I know . . . I am a control room operator in one of those "evil" (but irreplaceable) coal fired power plants. I would have posted almost the same analogy earlier but I just got up . . . this is like 7:00 AM for me . . . had to work the midnight shift last night so some poor "victim" of those evil Bankers will not loose their "right" to the home they cannot afford!

I read an article today where Pelosi responded to a question about Republican lawmakers complaints about not being given enough time to read and debate the stimulus bill they recently passed.

Her response was basically, hey they are lucky they had any say at all, I could have pushed it through a lot quicker.

This country is in trouble, and most just can’t see it.
