House Passes Bill Requiring Obama-Care Numbers

From a bemused Associated Press:

House passes bill requiring health care numbers

By DONNA CASSATA | January 17, 2014

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House on Thursday backed a bill that would require the Obama administration to report weekly on how many Americans have signed up for health care coverage as Republicans maintain an election-year spotlight on the troubled law.

The vote was 259-154, with 33 Democrats breaking ranks and joining the GOP majority in supporting the legislation…

So it has bi-partisan support!

Some of the most vulnerable Democrats facing re-election this fall from Arizona, Georgia, New York and Florida voted for the bill. Last week, 67 Democrats bucked the administration and backed a bill to bolt new security requirements on the law.

The bill would require the administration to report weekly on the number of visits to the government health care website, the number of Americans who applied and the number of enrollees by ZIP code, as well as other statistics.

It stands no chance in the Democratic-led Senate.

Which, naturally, amuses the AP.

The administration has reported monthly on enrollment, announcing last week that 2.2 million signed up through the end of December and nearly 4 million had been deemed eligible for Medicaid…

A figure that was first exposed as bogus by Sean Trende at Real Clear Politics. In fact, this number has even been debunked by the Washington Post’s fact-checker, Glenn Kessler. Who gave himself three Pinocchios for having previously defended the administration’s phony number

In reality, more than half of those supposedly new 4 million enrollees were already on Medicaid.

So maybe the bill should specifically require that the Obama administration actually tell us the truth. Which, of course, means it will never get through the Democrat-controlled Senate.

When it comes to getting things through the Republican-controlled house, THE MEDIA NEVER GIVES UP! Every angle they can possibly think of, it used to pressure and intimidate the House.
“It passed the Senate with bi-partisan support!” –Yeah, and guess what happens when something gets to the democrat-controlled Senate?

“Puh! Stupid Republicans! Why bother with your pathetic and petty attempts at politics? Don’t you realize your futility is D.O.A. in the precious democrat-controlled Senate? And anyway, Obama would VETO it, if it ever got to his desk!”

And why aren’t Republicans making the TOWN CRIER run out there and remind everyone on the hour THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION CAMPAIGNED ON TRANSPARENCY!—-so of course there shouldn’t be any opposition to this, NAY, there shouldn’t be any need for it in the first place!

So there you go, Republicans cave at the first media hint at non-bipartisanship, and the democrats must hold the fort in LOYAL OPPOSITION every time Republicans try to get anything moving on their end.

The Administration blasted FOX Megan Kelley for reporting this. They watch FOX news all the time, and that’s how we know Obama knew about Benghazi and his latest pretending not to know whats going on. Heck he wrote in his 2006 book he watched it and bragged that Hannity an Ann Coulter never got under his skin like they might most liberals.
