While we know this is a false accusation, it falls in line with this new rule, no one makes any move without Obama's okay. Can you imagine our soldiers sitting there with terrorist firing at them, and they can't do a thing, until a dumb-a** with no military experience, tells them it's okay.

"why would you inflict this much damage on an agency that YOU HAVE TO RUN?"

because he was appointed to destroy it, not run it.

Two things about this worth noting:

Panetta is a political hack of the lowest order. Any reputation he earned prior to this appointment as a "serious person" has now been utterly destroyed.

This is good for the GOP. It shows how fatuous the Dems are when it comes to national security. If anything bad happens vis-a-vis national security the Dems will suffer badly for pulling stunts like this.

I don't get Panetta. Even if you're a total rube, why would you inflict this much damage on an agency that YOU HAVE TO RUN?

"I intend to make this investigation fair and thorough, and it is my goal that it will not become a distraction to the men and women of the CIA," Reyes said.

Idiot. Any investigation is a distraction. Even a legitimate investigation creates upheaval and diverts thousands of man-hours away from the CIA's job of protecting the nation. To initiate an illegitimate investigation, as Reyes is proposing, goes beyond irresponsible. It's criminal.

Pro this is the common "thought-police" mentality. I remember running into the type most frequently in the military. It's not what I did that bothered them...it was what I "could possibly do" that made them the most angry, which, of course, was the source of never ending amusement for me.

So here they want to have a full blown investigation of something that never happened. That's like detectives coming to your house and checking the place out and you say, "Was there a crime committed here?"

"Nope, but we have it on good authority that the guy we have in custody was gonna do something here".

Not only would that not stand up in "real-people" court (not the made up liberal hippie-crat ones) but even the newscasters would probably have to laugh about it.

But as you say, it's one of many things that the CIA put out there to investigate the feasibility of...not something they even actually intended to do. The key to a good operation, such as the CIA is contingency, contingency, contingency....they have to plan, anticipate, out-maneuver, have a plan, a backup plan and a backup backup plan.

On the face of it, in typical liberal fashion, they are simply venting their hatred of an entity that, to them, is designed to interfere with anyone's good time. In their make-believe-world, the military, the police, the CIA, the FBI and so many other agencies dedicated to upholding our laws and system of laws make their blood turn cold. Regardless of the fact that if they could disband all of them tomorrow, they would have in their stead an even more vicious, overbearing, over-the-top system to enforce their idea of right and wrong.

And to me, I think their brownshirts are not that far away...it's a dream of Blammo's and though on the back burner, it would serve as a good distraction while he continues to connive and plot to destroy our ability to get medical care without his say-so.

ACORN is part of it...and I'm sure the possibility has been mentioned to combine all the little satellite Obamabots under one uniform and make them foot soldiers, at least in theory, if not in fact ....yet. I remember reading about that.

Here...as a matter of fact.

You miss the important point. You see killing a terrorist using a UAV = OK. Killing a terrorist using a sniper = bad.

Gee, it's so obvious, I don't see how you missed it. *rolls eyes*

Isn't it high time we begin using the "t" words for the current leadership since they're compromising our national security and destroying our economy? Let's begin with treason

There must be thousands of "programs" that congress is never informed about.

It's part of the CIA's job to think about multiple alternatives and contingencies?

Are they supposed to run to Nancy Pelosi every time some operative writes an email with a new idea, many of which end up being brain farts?

Of all the travesties committed by liberals on this country, the games played by these buffoons with national security are the worst. They better hope I never get elected to office, because if I do, we're bringing back the guillotine, and the blade will be worn out in a couple of days.
