Hugo Chavez To Be Put On Display For Eternity

From Reuters:

Venezuela’s Chavez to be embalmed for public view

By Patricia Velez and Terry Wade | March 8, 2013

CARACAS (Reuters) – Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez will be embalmed and put on display "for eternity" at a military museum after a state funeral and an extended period of lying in state, acting President Nicolas Maduro said on Thursday…

Gee, just like his heroes Vladimir Lenin, Josef Stalin and Mao Tse Tung. But of course every Communist dictator goes on forever. Or, at least it seems that way.

"It has been decided that the body of the comandante will be embalmed so that it remains eternally on view for the people at the museum," Maduro told state TV…

Yes, let this be a lesson to them. Hopefully, future Venezuelans’ will learn from their mistakes.

Maduro said Chavez’s official funeral would go ahead on Friday, attended by about 30 leaders from around the world and that his body would then lie in state for a further seven days…

Among these ‘world leaders’ will be the the blessed Reverend, Jesse Jackson, Jr. himself.

From Fox News:

Jesse Jackson Sr. to attend Hugo Chavez funeral in Caracas

By Serafin Gomez | March 07, 2013

CARACAS, Venezuela — Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. will be attending the state funeral for Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Friday in Caracas, the nation’s capital.

Jackson, founder of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, will be leading a delegation organized by the civil rights organization — which is separate from the official U.S. delegation.

"I had the opportunity to know President Chavez in a direct and personal way," Jackson Sr. said in a statement to Fox News. "I extend my deepest condolences to his family and along with people around the globe, am deeply saddened by his passing."

Was Jackson on Chavez’s payroll, too?

According to a Jackson aide traveling with the civil rights leader, he is scheduled to arrive Thursday night.

Jackson Sr. was presented with the Liberator’s Award by Chavez in 2005, and spoke to the Venezuelan Parliament as part of the ceremony.

It’s really a toss-up which of these heroes, Jackson or Chavez, has liberated fewer people.

Reuters update Iran’s Ahamdinejad violates Muslim protocol touching & saluting Chavez’s casket leading to standing ovation.

CARACAS (Reuters) – Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Cuba’s Raul Castro joined about 30 other heads of state at Friday’s funeral for Hugo Chavez in an emotional farewell to the charismatic but divisive Venezuelan leader who changed the face of politics in South America.

A frequent visitor to Caracas and fellow “anti-imperialist,” Ahmadinejad received a standing ovation as he took his place in a guard of honor by Chavez’s coffin, then broke protocol to touch the casket and clench his fist in a revolutionary salute.
