I wonder if they were even at the Arctic. This led me to do some research on a few rocks I bought, (as we don't have global warming where I live. It's been coolest summers for at least a decade). Anyways, the sales girl, young, started talking all this millions of years ago, and how it would be billions of years before California breaks off the coast. I told her dinasours were on the earth just a few thousand years ago. So, she was telling me how this one rock came from millons of years ago. I didn't buy it. I played along, and told her she was so educated, and did she go to college. She went to a major university but got her degree in communications. I tried to hide my smile. So, I looked up the rock, and found it formed not from being under the ocean millions of years ago, but from rocks moving against each other. I got everywhere from a few years, decades,
thousands, millions, and eons (I had to look up "eons" and it means billions)

I do not believe scientists have any measuring tools to determine, millions and billions of years ago. And dinasours did not die from people driving cars. I doubt there were enough wheels made from stone that caused the dinasours to die either.

This is a religious mania.

The people who traffic in this stuff would be far better off if they just went to a normal church.

Fill a glass halfway with water. Place an ice cube in the same glass...the water level will rise. Mark the water level. Cover the glass of iced water to prevent evaporating moisture from escaping. Wait until the ice cube has completely melted and mark the new water level. It will be less than it was when the ice was displacing the volume of water in the glass. When water freezes, it expands, increasing volume; not weight. When ice melts, its volume decreases to the original liquid measure. To make a long story short, it may happen that if all the sea ice melts, then the sea level may actually recede.

I don't have much scientific knowledge, but I do drink single malt scotch whiskey with ice. Through years of inattentive observation, I've reached this epiphany. Maybe global scientists should drink more.

Ice free Arctic?? We'll call it the "Amundsen Effect." Northwest passage, baby! Great for commerce. Tell all your friends.

The logic fallacy in the WWF's scenario can be found in seventh grade science: the arctic is a region of ocean, not land. The ice is already floating in the sea. And since ice displaces its own weight in water, melting will have NO EFFECT on sea levels.

Chicken little, call yer office.

Meanwhile, the crickets chirp as the ice in Antarctica has increased over the last 20-30 years.

Oops. Doesn't fit the narrative. Down the memory hole wit ewe.

You know, it's funny, but years ago the "World Wildlife Fund" sued the "World Wrestling Federation" for using the trademarked "WWF" and they "didn't want to be associated with an industry that pandered to "entertainment and bogus dealings". Not surprisingly, they won.

"This could lead to flooding affecting one-quarter of the world’s population, substantial increases in greenhouse gas emissions …. and extreme global weather changes."

There it is! The money statement. And without that statement in there, all funding would be denied.

Has anyone with their finger on the money giving machine looked back and read the statements of the last 40+ years? I have been hearing about and was even forced to learn about the "loss of our polar ice cap" as long ago as I can remember in school.

Hasn't happened. I can't say that it won't. But likewise they can't say with any certainty that it will, either.

All the evidence that they refer to is inconclusive and they cherry pick the things that only support their conclusion and agenda. MONEY.

Amazing how research like this paid for by those who serve to benefit is seen as good and valid, but somehow research paid for by Exxon or other corporations is by definition corrupt and self-serving.

That's what's wonderful about government; you can continue to release "research" stating how you not only must continue to exist but must grow exponentially, and no one bats an eye.
