ICE Freed Over 104K Criminal Illegal Aliens In 2013

From the Daily Caller:

Murderers, Rapists, Kidnappers: Over 36,000 Criminal Illegal Immigrants Released In 2013

May 12, 2013

Nearly 200 murderers, over 400 rapists, and 300 kidnappers in the U.S. illegally were released by Immigration and Customs Enforcement while awaiting deportation proceedings, according to a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies.

A total of 36,007 criminal illegal immigrants that were being processed for deportation were freed in 2013. Together, they committed nearly 88,000 crimes, according to the report, published Monday.

In fact, the number of criminal illegal immigrants released in 2013 with criminal convictions was over 104,000. As this article notes later: "The 36,007 illegal immigrants reported Monday were freed by ICE during the final disposition of their cases. The 68,000 from the previous report were criminals who encountered ICE agents — often in jails — but were released without undergoing deportation proceedings." (36,007 + 68,000 = 104,007.)

But remember how this news was reported by the media when these releases were first uncovered. We were told the number of released illegals was around one hundred. And of that number did not include any serious criminals. We were also told that these releases was due to sequester cuts.

From the New York Times, February 26, 2013: ‘Mass Release of Immigrants Is Tied to Impending Cuts. — Federal immigration officials have released hundreds of detainees from detention centers around the country in recent days in a highly unusual effort to save money as automatic budget cuts loom in Washington, officials said Tuesday. The government has not dropped the deportation cases against the immigrants, however. The detainees have been freed on supervised release while their cases continue in court, officials said…

A spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, an arm of the Department of Homeland Security, said the detainees selected for release were “noncriminals and other low-risk offenders who do not have serious criminal histories.” Officials said the releases, which began last week and continued on Tuesday, were a response to the possibility of automatic government wide budget cuts, known as sequestration, which are scheduled to take effect on Friday…"

We were told in subsequent reports that ICE would immediately stop releasing these criminals. But they clearly didn’t.

“I was astonished at not only the huge number of convicted criminals who were freed from ICE custody last year – an average of almost 100 a day — but also at the large number of very serious crimes they had committed,” said Jessica Vaughan, the director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, in a statement.

ICE gathered the statistics — which include a breakdown by crime — in response to congressional inquiry following another report released earlier this year by the Center of Immigration Studies.

That report, which was based on internal Department of Homeland Security documents, showed that ICE encountered over 193,000 illegal immigrant convicts. Charging documents were issued for 125,000, and nearly 68,000 were released.

So actually, 68,000 illegal aliens were released on top of the 36,000 mentioned here. Which is a number that was reported earlier this year:

From The Hill, March 31, 2014: "DHS document: 68,000 illegal immigrants with criminal convictions released in 2013 — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials last year released 68,000 illegal immigrants with criminal convictions, undercutting Democratic claims that President Obama has strictly enforced immigration laws. That review also found that 870,000 illegal immigrants had been removed from ICE dockets despite being in defiance of the law…"

The 36,007 illegal immigrants reported Monday were freed by ICE during the final disposition of their cases. The 68,000 from the previous report were criminals who encountered ICE agents — often in jails — but were released without undergoing deportation proceedings.

The 36,007 were released by bond, parole, unsupervised release, or on their own recognizance.

Besides violent criminals, ICE released nearly 16,000 illegal immigrants convicted of driving under the influence. The report also shows that ICE released nearly 2,700 illegal immigrants convicted of assault, 1,300 convicted for domestic violence, and nearly 1,300 convicted for battery.

How wonderful.

“These figures call into question President Obama’s request to Congress for permission to reduce immigration detention capacity by 10 percent in favor of permission to make wider use of experimental alternatives to detention,” reads the report.

In June 2011, the administration began applying “prosecutorial discretion” to many deportation cases. This has led to a 40 percent decrease in the number of deportations…

Which is the opposite of what we are told by our news media and other amnesty activists. Who claim that deportations have skyrocketed under Obama.

This is a perfect example of what Sam Francis called “anarcho-tyranny.”

Our rulers refuse to control immigration and real criminals (that’s the anarchy) but insist upon controlling the innocent citizens (that’s the tyranny).

  2. Well, of course they did. Professional courtesy.

This is criminal and if there were any leadership from a party of opposition, something would be done. McConnell and Boehner are quislings who are unwilling ( incapable) to act in our behalf.

We could solve this problem overnight is our dear leaders had any backbone. Simply fine anyone that hires people here illegally. Since our Dear Leader is already requiring those who do not get ObamaCare to be fine, this should be no different. Problem solved.

BTW – as someone who works in the IT industry, this “need” for an additional hi tech workers is a myth. These visas are often described as limited to “high-skill” technical workers, sometimes described as “the best and the brightest” in the world. Yet the facts are that the visas require education only up to the level of a U.S. bachelor’s degree. The H-1B visa has never required any attempt by an employer to hire a domestic worker. It’s just another way to keep wages low. There’s an real abundance of skilled workers. The H-1B visa program was created in 1990 to allow companies to bring skilled technical workers into the USA. However, colleges and universities have many more hi tech graduates than ever before and still we supposedly need this scam.

At any moment, then, there are about 700,000 H-1B visa holders working in the USA.
Most of these H-1B visa holders work in Information Technology (IT) and most of those come from India. There are about 500,000 IT workers in the USA holding H-1B visas. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are about 2.5 million IT workers in America. So approximately 20 percent of the domestic IT workforce isn’t domestic at all, but imported on H-1B visas. The Indian government love these visas: http://news.outlookindia.com/i.....tid=654274

For a large IT-related corporations to play this game is not new. The reason that they carry on with these activities are for one reason only — control. Control of the employee and uneven bargaining at the end of the day to keep wages low. I can’t tell you how many friends jobs have been eliminated and moved “offshore.” Where they do not provide the value to the customer as the US employee. It takes several to do the same jobs. As more and more jobs go off shore, the damage to our economy grows. These abuses of the system by corporations are not only hurting US workers, they are hurting our nation. It must be stopped.
    My rant is over.
