If You Plan To Buy Coulter’s New Book

If you ever intend to buy a copy of Ann Coulter’s great new book, Guilty, it would be great if you could buy it today.

For today is the last day for the all important “Week 1 Sales” rating.

By my calculations “Guilty” is currently very close to being the #1 book on the bestsellers list.

(I personally suspect that George Soros’ minions and other such types are buying up lots of copies of the competing books just to knock Ann’s down. Of course they will return them all later, but it will be too late to affect the rankings.)

For the record, book club sales and Human Events’ promotions don’t count towards bestsellers lists.

As most regular readers know, I am an unabashed fan of Ann Coulter, and I am honored to consider her a friend. She is also regular reader of the site.

But the site is not making a single sou out of this. (Unless you buy it through Amazon using the link here, who kick back $0.14 or so to S&L.)

This is really just a way to poke ‘the other side’ in the eye.

I am so glad that I actually went to a bookstore and bought it – mucho, mucho happy that I added to her first week totals.

I ususally don’t like to go into bookstores (i.e. the ‘national’ names) to find the kind of books I like – as I suspected it was not in the front nor the ‘new’ books area – down the side toward the back – it sort of re-inforces what I believe about them.

Of course they will return them all later, but it will be too late for the list

My m-i-l calls our library – a fire hazard – bless her heart. But at least this year she did not vote Dem for the first time in decades.

I happened to be in Barnes & Noble the other day, and I did a cursory check for Ann’s book and it was no where to be found.

I’m sure if I had asked, or had really searched, I could have found it. But it wasn’t out among the other latest releases or best sellers.

Of course, as you say, this is no surprise whatsoever.

  3. Barbie says:

There are never any problems with finding books about the …er… lovely couple, Barack and Michelle…

  4. GuppyNblue says:

I did buy a copy from the local Barnes & Noble, even though I don’t like to either. I have a problem with receiving deliveries in my neighborhood. I never got my S&L t-shirt and I’m sure it’s because I didn’t get home in time. If I do see a neighbor wearing it I might have to break his legs to set things straight.

    • Steve says:

      “I never got my S&L t-shirt and I’m sure it’s because I didn’t get home in time.”

I’ve very sorry to hear that, GNB.

I’d offer you another one at cost, but the markup is so small it would be a pretty empty gesture.

Delivery thefts seem to be going up everywhere.

    • pinandpuller says:

Did the UPS guy leave it next to your McCain/Palin sign?

A die-pack from a bank and a cardboard box could help you track down your shirt thief.

    • GuppyNblue says:

It was probably next to my free copy of Louis Farrakhan’s FinalCall. Someone even writes in ink which pages I should pay special attention to on it. Maybe I have a black guardian angel looking out for me.

    • Steve says:

All kidding aside, GNB, you should contact Cafe Press:

      CafePress.com : Help Desk : Index

And see what they can do about it.

(I sent you an email with your order number, etc.)

    • GuppyNblue says:

Thanks SG, I’ll do that. If all else fails, I’ll just order another and have it sent to a work address.

    • pinandpuller says:

Where the heck do you live anyway lol? The LDS around here are more interested in leaving things than taking them. I can’t imagine some NOI dudes in bow ties riding bikes around recruiting and leaving annotated copies of FinalCall, which sounds like something a bartender might say.

    • GuppyNblue says:

For 3/4’s of the month I live in Baltimore. I have no idea why Final Call is delivered to me there. It has a price tag on it but I’ve obviously never paid a dime. The most bizarre part is the hand written notes on them. In one case I was reminded to be cautious of blue-eyed visitors. I have blue eyes myself so I can’t make any sense of it. We have all the “community groups” around (communist and Islamic) so it might just be that they’re pretty confident that they own the neighborhood.

    • pinandpuller says:

I got to visit Baltimore at the behest of my ex-sis inlaw and family. They lived in a rowhouse-I don’t remember the exact neighborhood. I walked with her husband to get Chinese food and a police helicopter periodically helped light the way. Safeway had armed guards so I guess when they say 20 items or less they aren’t fooling around. I did get to help fold up the flag at Fort McHenry so that was pretty cool.

Her husband is a preacher at an inner city church and that’s where we attended Easter services. On Saturday night some 15 year old girl broke up with her bf and during church the next day she was sitting with a new guy. The ex-bf left in the middle somewhat PO’d as you can imagine. After the service there was supposed to be a typical pot luck dinner in the basement. I’m downstairs wating for the go ahead to eat and all of a sudden there was a commotion at the top of the stairs. PO’d ex bf showed up with some of his freinds and family and a huge fight broke out that carried downstairs. It literally looked like something out of Jerry Springer or Geraldo. Plates, chairs and elbows were flying everywhere. I got pressed against the wall and didn’t really do much but watch because I didn’t know who to hit. Eventually everyone played out and cleared out like Great White was opening and the police came.

And that’s what I did on Easter Vacation in Baltimore.

  5. Lipstick on a PIAPS says:

    Ann Coulter…… truly a beautiful mind! ;-)

  6. Media_man says:

Congratulations to S&L on being referenced in Chapter 1 of “Guilty” as being the blog that uncovered Gwen Ifill’s forthcoming book on Obama prior to the Biden / Palin debate (which Ifill hosted). Apparently nobody in the MSM thought this was anything their readers needed to know.

That’s a big kudo when somebody with Coulter’s gravitas is singing the praises of your website.

Great book by the way. Definitely worth the $21 bucks (Borders was selling it @ a 30% discount off the $29.99 list price)

  7. clifcrds says:

But the site is not making a single sou out of this. (Unless you buy it through Amazon using the link here, who kick back $0.14 or so to S&L.)

Dooooohhh! I ordered mine through Amazon last week . . . I did not realize you got a little spif if I would have done it here. Sorry SG

But I was going to order one for my son, so this time I will go through the link. Actually, it would be a good idea if you would post your Amazon link on the site – I usually buy 1 or 2 books or CDs from Amazon every month. Don’t really care to support liberal pushing book stores who employ snobbish, elitist, Che-shirt wearing, leftist indoctrinated college brats.

    • Steve says:

“Dooooohhh! I ordered mine through Amazon last week . . . I did not realize you got a little spif if I would have done it here. Sorry SG”

It’s really not a big deal, CC. It really is just pennies.

  8. Opinionated Jackass says:

I preordered it from Amazon.com way back in September, before anyone knew anything about it, including the title. It was referred to as “The New Ann Coulter” for ages. Anyway, I got mine for about $17 using their preorder price guarantee. Haven’t started it yet since schoolwork comes first, but I can’t wait!

  9. pinandpuller says:

I wonder if Al Franken will see an upsurge in book sales a la Jim Wright? At the very least it makes good packing material when shredded.

  10. Chinnubie says:

I happened to be at the bookstore at the University of Missouri at St. Louis where I go to school and believe it or not there was a copy of “Guilty” in the New Book sale section for everyone to see in plain sight, I almost fell over on the spot, but elated I picked it up immediately along with a copy of “Fleeced” by Dick Morris.

I was really glad because I was getting bored being on Christmas break with not much to do now I have some great reading to fill my time along with reading S & L.

  11. ptat says:

I got it at Atlantic Books in Cape May, New Jersey and, although it was prominently displayed on the new arrivals shelf, the clerk was disturbed to find that someone had entered it into the computer under a different title, thereby throwing off phone inquiries. He promptly fixed it and all is well. What a great book—I am loving the massive doses of truth and common sense, flavored with that fantastic wit and razor sharp analysis! She does a good job of poking the media in the eyes and, what they hell, they are already willingly blind!

  12. crosspatch says:

I just got mine from the link provided. I might also suggest:

“Liberty versus the Tyranny of Socialism: Controversial Essays by Walter E. Williams”

Professor Williams’ essays are absolute gems.

    • Paulajay says:

Walter Williams’ new book looks like a must-read, too. I ordered it last night on Amazon along with “Guilty”but cancelled it because there was a 2 to 3 week delay to ship it.

  13. eucher says:

I bought my copy the day NBC “banned her for life” — the autographed version from WorldNetDaily, for my husband’s birthday. Can’t wait to read it (after he opens it, of course … er, maybe!)

  14. DW says:

Steve, thanks posting the link where you get the “kickbacks”. I was meaning to ask you about that but was in no great rush, so it’s a good thing you posted the bit about week 1 sales as well.
I know it’s only 14 cents, but hey, if 10 people order via your site, that works out to… to… ahh hang on…
    Well it adds up anyways.

Besides, I’d rather see you get something from it rather than some snotty girl at the checkout counter who acts like I’m buying kiddie porn.

    Duly ordered.

  15. Paulajay says:

Right now, “Guilty” is NUMBER ONE on Amazon’s non-fiction bestsellers list. And it’s only $15.37. I bought 2 copies at Walmart for birthday gifts and ordered one for myself on Amazon last night, (along with Nonie Darwish’s new book in order to get free shipping.) Can’t wait to read it. Ann’s the greatest!

  16. sheehanjihad says:

I just ordered my copy, and not for a poke in the eye, but a tater stick up side dey haids! She is the number one conservative author in the world, regardless of how many liberal publications are purchased for recycling. Plus, that all important pittance that SG gets….it’s almost as much as I make a week now!

  17. Steve says:

I’ve just learned through my sources that Ms. Coulter’s book has taken the lead at Amazon. (Showing, once again, the unparalleled power of S&L.)

But that shouldn’t stop anyone who is anywhere where stores are still open, since the week does not end until after close of business on the West coast.

And who knows when that is.

  18. Kilmeny says:

I was in Borders the other day (I refuse to buy from them, but the kids had gift cards) and didn’t see the book anywhere, although it must have been somewhere in the store. My copies are now ordered.

  19. infidel2 says:

Picked up a copy the other day……..trying to get it going, but work has been deep; maybe I’m too tired.

It was inexpensive, wonder if Wal-Mart set the price?

  20. OneMoreRound07 says:

Picked it up on release day!!

  21. Sharps Rifle says:

    Already done!

  22. amicsgirl says:

Picked it up at my local Fred Meyers and lo and behold it was prominently displayed among the New Releases and was almost gone. Then again I live in a small town in Alaska where we appreciate someone who cuts through the bull@$#^ and tells the truth. I must admit I was disappointed when I went to our local “bookstore” and couldnt find it anywhere although there is always a prominent display with political releases (left definately outnumbering right). Then again when you live in a state where the major newspaper tries to discredit the most popular governer in decades and comes out in support of Obama despite the majority of the “people” ( you know those pesky little people they’re are supposed to be writing for) being against him and everything he stands for, it shouldnt be a surprise that even here, the elitists are trying to push their beliefs on us. I am ordering a copy for every family member and friend because we need to make everyone realize just how messed up our perception of the world is when its constantly being skewed by liberal bias. I thank god for sites like this. Good job and you definately deserve the props from Ms. Coulter.
P.S. Love her interviews. Never any remorse or softening on the stands she takes. I still love to see the interview with Katie Couric where Couric tries to shame her with quotes from her book and she just looks at her and says “yeah, and?”

  23. ptat says:

BTW–Has anybody been struck by the glut of magazines with Obama(s) on the cover? It must be some sort of record—-I counted 39 at Barnes and Nobel the other day.Boy did I have fun facing them all out prominently so it looked like there was an Obama section. You know, every one has their limit–maybe this overload will provoke a counter effect where even the most devout will sicken of his over exposure. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to hear once rabid fans saying “I am sick of the Obamas!”?

    • sheehanjihad says:

This is nothing more than the continuing creation of “Obamiration”, where those who are dancing at the end of the strings manipulated by the Soro’s of the liberal left. This is like “phase 4” of the ongoing media blitz to cannonize Obama, to make him immune from criticism, and to sequester any dissenting opinion.

He is to be crowned on the 20th, not sworn in, and the rapid decline brought on by the power hungry socialist party in control of both houses will take on a new urgency….to create a total dependence on government before the population wakes up, and knowing full well that the money “they” spent to purchase our current administration will pay off handsomely.

This will create in effect, that long sought after “class division”, where a small cadre of party elite and their bankroll masters will give untold trillions of dollars to the sub class of “dependents” who will continue to vote to keep them in power to gain entitlement, and it will be paid for by the “working class” that is, you and me.

We, those who work and pay our bills and try to get ahead will be the new class of slave labor to keep both ends of the societal ladder benefiting from the fruits of our labor…those in control, and those who’s job it is to vote and keep their hands out for more, will make sure that the drones who actually work will pay for it all, with little or no reward for their efforts save the fact that they can be happy to “contribute” to “those in need, and those who satisfy that need”.

We are a socialist nation now….and so we will remain until people start to wake up to just how badly they have been screwed. We will take it back eventually, but there is a dark future that I hope that those of us forced under the yoke of socialist democrat control will be able to shed sooner than later.

I am not optimistic about a timely outcome. The dark ages of that repeatedly tried and repeatedly failed socialist society are upon us. Again. We will prevail, but it wont happen this decade. But it will happen, and I hope I am alive to see our own version of “Madame La’Farge croaking “off with their heads” with the same disdain for their lives that they are currently showing for ours.

  24. Flession says:

I bought mine at B&N (and mind you got a dirty look from the girl at the cash register), but I was reading it all during my wife’s hours in labor and mostly while my new son (he’s extremely cute, btw ^_^) slept.

A nurse who saw the book actually commented that she was also reading it. So score two more points for the Bestseller list! Huzzah!

Oh, and my father plans on buying it as well. Probably my sister too…but that won’t effect book sales this week, alas.

Excellent book, if I may say so myself.

  26. 12 Gauge Rage says:

I haven’t read Coulter’s new book yet but the invisibility of her latest work in the more prominent bookstores doesn’t surprise me. They did the same thing when Laura Ingraham’s book ‘Power to the People’ came out. It was the same also when talk show host Michael Savage released his book ‘Liberalism is a mental disorder.’ Callers to these talk shows had the same story of asking where these books were upon the release date and being given rude stares and treatment when asking for a copy. Freedom definitely isn’t free. You have to fight for even the right to read books that are in complete agreement with your own political views. To me, hiding books for sale to keep them from the public just because you don’t agree with the content is equivalent to Nazi book burning.

  27. BillK says:

Purchased mine last week at Border’s.

Nearly wretched walking past their two tables of pro-Obama books to get to the register, though, including the Childrens’ Obama Inaugural propaganda.

  28. 12 Gauge Rage says:

The cult of personality is both staggering and frightening. Will we all be required to have an officially licensed portrait of America’s ‘Dear Leader’ and face fines and other punishments if we don’t? I’ve never seen an American president with this much media saturation in their favor.

  29. spiffyw says:

i could not wait ….I had to go to the wall place to buy it, cause It was the lesser of two great evils, wall and the B place …..
I was so cool as I went to take the price tag off I noticed the top of the tag says Guilty Libral” Vict at first I thought they mislabeled it as a liberal book but …. no it is the name abbreviated Guilty is a victory over liiberals I love you Ann

  30. mateomo says:

I can’t wait to get this.

Its been getting mighty cold lately. This would make some great kindling.

    • sheehanjihad says:

There’s a great chapter in Ann’s book about ignorant pathetic liberal winky spankers who substitute conservative blogs for pornography. I thought she was joking until tonight.

    • mateomo says:

Personally, if I actually believed that ann coulter believed the things that she preached, I’d say she had guts for going out into the world and voicing her (often obnoxious) opinions. But like Bill O’Riley before her, I believe that Ann Coulter is just making up these outrageous opinions and statements merely to get attention and fame, and is not trying to further ANY social cause (be it conservative or liberal).

Ev Huckabee en, who was by far one of the more social conservative candidates in the past election, was repulsed by the things that she said about others, but more importunely to Huckabee, the horrible things she said about him, which he cornered Coulter about on his show last week, in a segment that was beyond uncomfortably tense and awkward for anyone witnessing it. Huckabee was flat out pissed. And Coulter was caught in some of her lies, which he proved to her. Even then she refused to concede.

FYI: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rick-jacobs/ann-coulter-on-the-gay-_b_70156.html I hate the Huffington Post, but here’s photographic proof (which I’m sure you’ll dispute) that she was in a gay establishment with her gay friends, which to me doesn’t sound like something Ann, or at least the staunch social conservative Ann we’ve all grown familiar with, would do.

She’s just using conservatives, and manipulating them into making her famous. Like everyone else on TV or in the media, regardless of association (political, ideological, religious, gender, etc.), she’s a prostitute.

That being said, she’s a business genius.

    • 1sttofight says:

If you ever got out around any real Americans, like the posters on this site, you would find out real quick that Ann is exactly right.

She was with Alan Combs, Scott McClellan, and some fiance guy talking about the inauguration.

She did a great job defending her positions and taking on Alan and Scott (as she usually does.)

Hell, she was invited back to discuss her first chapter about single motherhood. I’m seriously looking forward to it and her ripping apart the competition.
