Meanwhile, from Reuters:

U.S. official says no sign Iran shot down drone

TEHRAN (Reuters) – Iranian media reported on Sunday that their country’s military had shot down a U.S. reconnaissance drone in eastern Iran, but a U.S. official said there was no indication the aircraft had been shot down.

NATO’s U.S.-led mission in neighbouring Afghanistan said the Iranian report could refer to an unarmed U.S. spy drone that went missing there last week…

Iran has announced several times in the past that it shot down U.S., Israeli or British drones, in incidents that did not provoke high-profile responses…

NATO’s International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan said in a statement: "The UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) to which the Iranians are referring may be a U.S. unarmed reconnaissance aircraft that had been flying a mission over western Afghanistan late last week.

"The operators of the UAV lost control of the aircraft and had been working to determine its status."

A U.S. official, who asked not to be named, said: "There is absolutely no indication up to this point that Iranians shot down this drone." …

In any case, how long will it be before Obama apologizes to Iran?

    2 Questions on Iran

    1. Why would Iran bother MAKING a nuclear weapon when they can avoid all that hassle and just BUY one?

    2. Why would the U.S. need a drone, when they have satellites? –unless they were tracking movements of troops/weapons into Iraq, and wanted to blow people up. Normally such things would be antagonistic / war-like, invading other country’s sovereignty, and um….attempted murder. But who cares, they are Iranians, laws only apply to people we like……just like in America!

Getting involved in these conflicts is just chasing your own tail. Next, what are we going to do about Hamas? –the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and Libya? –the resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan? –Al Qaida in Pakistan? –the Syrian oppression? –the Somalian pirates? –Myanmar? –the growing Chinese threat in Asia? –North Korean nuclear threat? –the Mexican drug cartels on our southern border? –the _____threat in Africa? -repeat-

It goes on and on and on and on. . . just focus on the most urgent and immediate threat, and let the other 192 other countries sink or swim on their own. Maybe the world would appreciate us more if we didn’t run to put out every single fire on planet earth. –what are we paying 22% of the U.N. budget for anyways!?

–Why would Iran bother MAKING a nuclear weapon when they can avoid all that hassle and just BUY one? —
Good question, but the fact remains they’re working hard on making a nuclear weapon. My guess is because they want more than one.

–Why would the U.S. need a drone, when they have satellites? –unless they were tracking movements of troops/weapons into Iraq, and wanted to blow people up.–
Because drones can see things that satellites can’t–assuming, of course, that the drone was actualy in Iranian airspace.

–Normally such things would be antagonistic / war-like, invading other country’s sovereignty, and um….attempted murder. But who cares, they are Iranians, laws only apply to people we like……just like in America!–
Because the Iranians have been so peaceful, what with capturing sailors and sending soldiers and explosives into Iraq and Afghanistan and paying palestinians to murder Jews and all…

Yeah, let’s just allow tyrants to keep building power until we can’t afford to ignore them anymore–just ask Neville Chamberlain how that worked.

They’re hoping to sell to their friends.

Also, remember their production facilities produce much less fissile material than they would like. The production rate of fissile yields they have would make it easier for them to produce a briefcase-style product – a terrorist would only have to irradiate central park to create a level of panic and chaos that would cripple the country for a very long time.

    Probabilities:
    1) US lost control of a drone and it crashed in Iran. (who promptly rushes to take credit)
    2) US intentionally crashes a drone in Iran. (who promptly rushes to take credit)
    3) Iran actually shoots/jams down a US drone in Iran.
    4) Iran actually shoots/jams down a NON-US drone in Iran (Israel anyone?)
    5) Iran is blowing smoke.

I’d give odds as follows 1) 80%, 2) 1%, 3) 1%, 4) 10%, 5) 8%, because hardware does fail despite failsafes, and sometimes aircraft just crash, in particular experimental/new aircraft in combat zones. There also is a possibility of a mix of 4 and 1, if the US and Israel are cooperating in running drones, but with the current administration, I’m doubtful. (unless its being run in the Black. Because after all, there have been a lot of spontaneous combustion cases in Iran lately.)

Perhaps Iran’s wind farm turbines jammed the drone signal :)

Someone keeps kabooming around Iran’s weapon facilities, causing Ahmadman a lot of grief for sure, thank God for that.

My bet is the infiltrators fancy humus after a long day of sabotaging nuclear reactors, but maybe we’re offering support, which might be an explanation why our diplomats are piling the harsh rhetoric on Israel, as a sort of cover. Likely not with our current group of leaders though. More likely is that the mullahcracy has to gin up an incident for some phony reason to increase international pressure since the actual reason is somebody keeps shellacking them.

Update: It gets worse. Top Secret U.S. Drone in Iran’s possession
(see drawing ‘never released photoed secret drone and full story link below)

FOX: U.S. Military Sources: Iran Has Missing U.S. Drone

Iran appears to be in possession of one of America’s most sophisticated weapons, a super-secret spy plane whose stealth technology is the same as the drone used to monitor the compound during the raid that killed Usama bin Laden, U.S. military sources told Fox News on Monday.

Military sources confirmed that the Iranians have the RQ-170 drone, which is so advanced that the U.S. Air Force has not distributed even a photo of it. However, they did not say that the Iranians shot down the spy plane, as was reported by Iran’s official IRNA news agency.

IRNA quoted an unidentified Iranian military official saying Sunday that the spy plane was shot down by Iran’s armed forces and suffered minor damage.. The official also warned of strong and crushing response to any violations of the country’s airspace by American drone aircraft.

A U.S. official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the classified nature of the incident, said the U.S. had “absolutely no indication” that the drone was shot down.

In July, Iranian military officials showed Russian experts several U.S. drones they said were shot down in recent years.

Neither the Air Force nor manufacturer Lockheed Martin has released much information about the plane, dubbed “The Beast of Kandahar” in 2009 when it’s existence was finally confirmed.

“The USAF has not issued any public release photos of the RQ-170,” Melissa Dalton of Lockheed Martin told FoxNews.com

Early reports suggested that plane — which is supposedly roughly the same size as a Predator — would be made almost entirely without metal to help it dodge radar, and special paint provides additional stealth.

Sen. Mark Kirk, R-Ill., told Fox News on Monday that “it’s less likely than not” that the Iranians did not shoot down the plane, but it had a mechanical or computer malfunction that caused it to go down.

Fox News’ Jeremy Kaplan contributed to this report.

It’s time to seriously believe Iran’s bragging they have undetected weapons along with their new
fleet of flying and sea landing drones.

Hopefully, Israel has not shared all their secret technology with the U.S. developed technology
And Obama’s pick for U.S. Ambassador to Russia is being challenged in that “he” might give Russia our secret technology. No telling what’s passing back and forth between Russia’s & Iran’s border. I’m sure we’ve got a drone watching.
