Iran Has Enough Fuel For Nuclear Bomb

From a delighted Reuters:

Iran has enough nuclear fuel to make bomb: U.S.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States believes Iran has stockpiled enough nuclear fuel to make a bomb, U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen said on Sunday.

"We think they do, quite frankly," Mullen said on CNN’s "State of the Union" program when asked whether Iran has enough fissile material for a nuclear weapon.

"And Iran having nuclear weapons, I’ve believed for a long time, is a very very bad outcome — for the region and for the world," Mullen said.

A watchdog report issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency two weeks ago said Iran had built up a stockpile of nuclear fuel, raising alarm among Western governments that Tehran might have understated by one third how much uranium it has enriched

The IAEA report showed a significant increase in Iran’s reported stockpile of low-enriched uranium (LEU) since November to 1,010 kg — enough, some physicists say, for possible conversion into high-enriched uranium for one bomb.

The IAEA later said Iran was cooperating well with U.N. nuclear inspectors to help ensure it does not again understate the amount of uranium it has enriched, suggesting the uranium accounting shortfall might not have been deliberate evasion.

Gee, it seems like only yesterday (but actually several months ago) that the National Intelligence Estimate reassured us that we had nothing to worry about on this score.

Iran was no where near having enough material to make nuclear weapons.

It looks like the election really is over.

And now that Mr. Obama is safely ensconced we can hear a little bit of truth again.

But of course only a little bit.

The IAEA later said Iran was cooperating well with U.N. nuclear inspectors to help ensure it does not again understate the amount of uranium it has enriched, suggesting the uranium accounting shortfall might not have been deliberate evasion.

Yes, the lives of the people of Israel – and indeed the rest of the world – are in safe hands with the IAEA in charge.

Rest easy.

Wow…. that warm, fuzzy feeling is running up my leg again. How long will it be before China sells American gyroscopes (thanks Clinton….you mutt) so their missles can hit the front door of any building in DC?

    Nuclear plant for energy?
    My Ass!!

    • 1sttofight says:

If they would only hit DC, I will give them the gyros myself.

    • beautyofreason says:

The Iranians have more than enough oil to satisfy their own energy needs in the long term. Their belligerence shows their true intentions. Just a few weeks ago they put an offer on the table to stop sending arms and fighters to Iraqi insurgents, when previously they had denied any involvement in Iraq whatsoever.

“The IAEA later said Iran was cooperating well with U.N. nuclear inspectors to help ensure it does not again understate the amount of uranium it has enriched, suggesting the uranium accounting shortfall might not have been deliberate evasion.”

Talk about convoluted reasoning, an accounting shortfall?, this isn’t pennies or a few cases of soda missing from the till, its a crapload of enriched Uranium and you just do not misplace it without very dire consequences, and anyone stupid enough to suggest that some psychophants half hearted cooperation means it was all just a lil mix up needs to go back to delivering pizza.

  3. Weasel says:

But Iran better watch out, if they don’t continue to cooperate with the IAEA and the UN, they could get a strongly worded letter sent to them…

    • Liberals Demise says:

OOOOOooooooo……..that’ll show ’em where to shiite and get off the pot!!

    • Weasel says:

Roger that! I’ve always said that if Iran, North Korea and Syria, etc all want nukes so bad, we should just give them some – and with our special “Minuteman” package at no extra cost, we can guarantee delivery in less than an hour!!!

    • Euryale says:

Israel will turn Iran into a glass wasteland long before they have the opportunity to strike.

    • 1sttofight says:

      Lets do the math.
Iran MAY have enough uranium for ONE nuke which they still have to build.

Israel has over 200 operational nukes ready at a moments notice to drop.

      Guess who wins?

    • MinnesotaRush says:

      Weasel .. I’m likin’ your plan ….

  4. proreason says:

You can’t believe a word our government says.

When Iran gets close to a nuke, Israel will take them out. They don’t live in la-la land.

  5. Bronson says:

When Enron had an accounting shortfall, capitalism was attacked for years and we had a huge reaction by legislators, Sarbanse-Oxley. But the IAEA seems to cook the books all the time, and democrats love islamofascism and legislators ignore the news.

Luckily we had Regan the last time nukes were pointed at us, but this time we have President Hussein — God be with us all!

  6. 12 Gauge Rage says:

Since 1979 when Ayatollah Khomeini took over and until the present, Iran has had nothing but blood on their hands. I don’t take it with a grain of salt when they say their nuclear research is for peaceful purposes. No, I just flat out refuse to believe anything they say. A nation ruled by thugs who promote violence can’t produce a population seeking peace.

  7. Rusty Shackleford says:

On the one hand, Iran has told us they have no desires to create nuclear weapons.

On the other hand, they have sworn to destroy Israel at least in every sentence they speak.

On the other OTHER hand, Israel really has no qualms about defending itself.

Might actually be kind of fun to see Iran turned into glass. Would actually give the newsies something to talk about that’s worth talking about…Would scare the crap out of Bo-Bo and I’d really like to see him soil himself, and thus show the rest of the world what a panty waist p***y he is. And, then watch as the liberals say, “It was all Israel’s fault; The kind, peace-loving smelly people of Iran were provoked thus causing Allah’s peptic ulcer to flare up and issue a fatwa to nuke Israel. The Iranians are clearly the victims here. Look, see all the dead, burnt bodies that the Israelis caused? We have photos…. And if it wasn’t for Bush creating all the nukes in the first place, there wouldn’t be an issue, right? Damn those nukular engineers….they are bad, bad people and because the US is the only nation that ever used a nuke….it’s the US’s fault.”

You know ….no matter how hard I try, I cannot think like a liberal. I see the words….write them down and they look so odd, so utterly ridiculous that it should be illegal to form such sentences. But liberals are taught and love to think with their emotions unfettered. Therein lies the problem. I mean to the reasonable people with a functioning IQ, the thoughts and utterances of liberals are as cold soup spilling onto a freshly waxed floor. Ann Coulter is 100% correct….talking to a liberal is impossible.

    • dulcimergrl says:

“talking to a liberal is impossible.” That’s why I hardly ever talk to my brother. He’s had a raging case of BDS since 2000. Every conversation with him will include at least one nasty remark against Bush, in addition to insults against any car not a Honda and any computer not a Mac. Luckily he doesn’t live nearby…

    • Right of the People says:

My condolences. My wife has a brother like that, we haven’t seen him is seven years and it’s been wonderful. He actually had the nerve to call that terrible evening in the beginning of November, the 4th if I recall correctly, to crow about it. My wife told him to perform an act of procreation with himself and slammed the phone down. I was so proud. There is no talking to them.

  8. brad says:

    SERIOUSLY, why do we care?

    Iran hates:
    Washington D.C.

…and yes, pretty much everything else, and I think they are dangerous, but it’s not our problem anymore. We tried, it didn’t work, we warned people, now it’s time to just let whatever happens, happen.

Time to just sit back and stop refereeing the world, let them do whatever.

  9. MinnesotaRush says:

Isreal will probably (scratch probably) have to handle the threat that is Iran and aaaaakk-ma-dee-dee-jon Then, the messiah, o-blah-blah, will likely react to that by scolding Isreal .. shaming them .. and trying to make them the outcast bad guys of the world .. all the while endearing himself to all as the benevolent, enduring, savior of the world.

Dangerously sick and irresponsible; but I can see it from him.

I’m sure that one angry glare from the Lioness of Tuzla will turn Ahmanutjob into a floor-wetting, shivering Chihuahua.

  10. pdsand says:

If Israel were to attack Iran, can you imagine the zillions Obama would spend on aid to Iran? These people already want to spend billions repairing all the damage that Israel took all that trouble to cause, and that’s just in the stupid Gaza strip.
If you asked me, the whole place was already bombed out to begin with. It’s like the old joke we had in Georgia, that a tornado tore up 15 counties in Alabama last night, destroyed tens of thousands of homes and caused over $25 in damage.
Just from an economic standpoint to not give Obama another stupid freakin excuse to spend our money we should urge peace for Iran.

    • 1sttofight says:

Back off pdsand, one of those houses was mine. ;)

    • pdsand says:

Lewis Grizzard and Jeff Foxworthy could always be counted on to pull those old jokes, “I knew there must have been some Alabama people here tonight, I thought I saw some trucks out front”.

    • 1sttofight says:

My truck was the one that the right front fender and the drivers door did not exactly match the rest of the truck.
Usually had a GMC tailgate on a Chevy truck.
Also had a USMC and a “I shop at Walmart” bumper sticker on it Not to mention the AU/Rebel Flag tag on the front.

  11. pdsand says:

Mine was the one with no fewer than 27 antennas protruding.
