Iran Tested Nuclear Warhead Design

From the UK’s Guardian:

Iran tested advanced nuclear warhead design – secret report

Exclusive: Watchdog fears Tehran has key component to put bombs in missiles

By Julian Borger

The UN’s nuclear watchdog has asked Iran to explain evidence suggesting that Iranian scientists have experimented with an advanced nuclear warhead design, the Guardian has learned.

The very existence of the technology, known as a “two-point implosion” device, is officially secret in both the US and Britain, but according to previously unpublished documentation in a dossier compiled by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iranian scientists may have tested high-explosive components of the design. The development was today described by nuclear experts as “breathtaking” and has added urgency to the effort to find a diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear crisis.

The sophisticated technology, once mastered, allows for the production of smaller and simpler warheads than older models. It reduces the diameter of a warhead and makes it easier to put a nuclear warhead on a missile…

The agency has in the past treated such reports with scepticism, particularly after the Iraq war. But its director general, Mohamed ElBaradei, has said the evidence of Iranian weaponisation “appears to have been derived from multiple sources over different periods of time, appears to be generally consistent, and is sufficiently comprehensive and detailed that it needs to be addressed by Iran”.

Extracts from the dossier have been published previously, but it was not previously known that it included documentation on such an advanced warhead. “It is breathtaking that Iran could be working on this sort of material,” said a European government adviser on nuclear issues…

This little nugget has been studiously ignored by the rest of our watchdog media. But, really, what is newsworthy about Iran having tested a nuclear warhead design?

Besides, why should we worry when Mr. ElBaradei is on the case? He will soon get a satisfactory answer from Iran.

You can count on that.

But that’s OK – as long as Obama makes sure that abortions are free from the Government for all, everything will be just fine…

Now, I’m a very pedestrian soul when it comes to things like this. So, if I can see the handwriting on the wall, that Iran wants a suitcase-size device before the boy is out of office, I sure as heck hope the people who NEED to be concerned about this ARE concerned about this.

In my cynical universe, I fear that the boy has already given instructions for the CIA to NOT investigate this and come up with any answers.

So the first one that they let loose, or several simultaneously in various cities in the US, will be the first anyone hears about it.

And if it’s on the boy’s watch…he will be so dumbfounded and such an emotional cripple that he won’t be able to believe they “did this to him”. Not to the American people, mind you…but to HIM.

Likewise, there will be little or no intel on it and if there is, he won’t act on it. I’m not saying I relish the possibility of a nuke going off on US soil, but I know it is a distinct possibility. What else can you think since Iran has said they only want to pursue nuclear energy for the nation….and how exactly does an advanced warhead design fit with that scenario?

Also, I’m sure the boy won’t jump to any conclusions about it. That would be wrong.

    Rusty,

Agreed, our boy won’t care how many American lives are lost, only that his beloved muslim buddies did this to HIM wreaking his legacy.

Impeachment, peaceful or otherwise is our only viable course of action.

    LETS TAKE THIS SUCKER BACK!
