Iranian Crowd Stops Hangings For A Day

From BBC News:

Iranian crowd stops execution and frees convicts

December 22, 2009

A crowd of people have helped two convicts escape a public execution in Iran, officials there say.

The crowd overpowered security services and helped two men convicted of robbery to escape hanging in the province of Kerman, the Fars news agency reported.

The men were recaptured hours later, and justice department officials say they will be put to death on Wednesday.

Iran executes more people than anywhere else in the world except China, human rights groups say.

The members of the crowd who aided their escape will also be punished, officials said

Almost a Christmas miracle.

By the way, where are the candle-light protests from all around the world? Where is Amnesty International and the rest of these ‘human rights groups’?

Just kidding. We know they only protest the US.

After all, Mr. Obama admitted that even our women aren’t quite as free as they should be.

    A whole day?!

Well, it sure was a nice try on the part of the people who tried to stop this. Now they will be “tried” and executed, too. Good luck to the Iranian people against their terrorist government. It’s probably going to get rougher before it gets better.

Hung for robbery?!?!? What’d they steal?!?!?

    Quick .. notify the ACLU.

Oh yeah .. they’d be hung, too. Hmmm .. all the more reason to call.

Where’s the human rights groups? Come on SG – there ain’t a Starbucks within a 1000 miles from there. Now Texas! That’s where you want to protest – they got everything. Coffee shops, BBQ, Michaels Arts & Crafts & Yankee Candle shops to spruce up your vigil & the MSM is always close by.

RB, human rights groups never protest in Iran because it’s not in their interests. By your observations you must be thinking it of Austin Texas. It has everything you mention with a heavy dose of liberals and their odd way of thinking. My sister-in-law lives there and won’t live anywhere else. Keep Austin weird they say.
