During prayer in church this past Sunday, when it came time for the congregation to name anyone in a special prayer, one of our liberal parishiners blurted out “THE OPRESSED PEOPLE OF PALISTINE”, which compelled me to join in “AND THE UNIVERSALLY REVILED JEWISH PEOPLE OF ISRAEL WHO MERELY WISH TO RETAIN THE RIGHT TO EXIST.”

That shut ‘em up.

You know, my first reaction is always sorrow when I hear about civilians, or institutions designed to help them, being hit by the IDF. Then I recall some important facts.

First, chances are that if the media is reporting dead civilians, those civilians or someone near them was holding weaponry that was still smoking when the IDF’s artillery hit.

Second, if the civilians killed truly had nothing to do with the fight personally, chances are that they helped vote the terrorist organization that brought this upon them into power.

Third, even if an international organization was designed to help that doesn’t mean that it actually is doing anything beneficial.

This dampens my initial reaction. After that, I rarely need to ask myself the next question: Who is to blame?

Is it the Israelis who just want to live without the threat of rockets being launched into their neighbourhoods or having their streets littered by suicide bombings?
Or is it the terrorists who hide behind hospitals, women, children, international organizations, or any higher form of life? (humanity is the obvious example, but I’m sure they’d hide behind pond scum too if they thought we cared about it)

I also have to say that the second article here makes me more than a little proud. As useless as the UN is, a Canadian observer for them stuck in that position didn’t go crying that the IDF was shelling him. Instead, he simply noted that they had to do what they did because of the enemy’s tactics and stuck it out until terrorists caused his death.

If the Nazis and Japanese had surrounded themselves with children, according to the new Secular Progressive logic, we never could have fought WWII.

This is a clear signal to every evil regime that wants to dominate the world: Embed yourselves with innocents, and you can do anything you want.

In the same way that kidnapping is encouraged when you pay ransom, terrorism gains enormously from mush-brained thinking. Evil is evil. If terrorists hang with children, it’s ultimate proof of their evil.

You’re right on that count, DGA. The only better way of identifying them would be to imbed them with the Israeli troops. The range would be shorter too.

See, the IDF’s intellegence is right on target, pardon the pun. They attacked the REAL enemy….

And where was U.N. chief Ban Ki-Moon’s outrage over Hamas’ use of the building as a shield to fire on Israeli troops? The behavior of the U.N. in face of the obvious facts continues to anger me. I’m embarrassed to admit that when I was in my early twenties I actually thought of working for the U.N. because the pay was great. I’m glad that back then I had older, wiser friends who made me change my mind.

The UN is infested with criminals of every sort, and will continue practicing all sorts of corruption until they are frightened into caution by enough of their staff having been either arrested or killed.

There are really no self-imposed limits on these people and their intentions are not good.

I believe they were caught having sex with children in central Africa.

That they support the murdering monsters around Israel is really no big surprise at this point.

The only surprising aspect of this story is that the Israelis didn’t see fit to flatten the facility and kill everyone in it.

It previous wars that certainly would have been done. And there would have been fewer repercussions as well.

I wonder how big the arms stash was that Hamas had in the UN building?
