Carney: ‘No Question’ Al-Qaeda On the Run

By Elizabeth Harrington | August 6, 2013

(CNSNews.com) – White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said there is “no question” that al-Qaeda is on the run, even though U.S. outposts remain closed due to terror threats throughout the world.

“We do stand by that,” Carney said on Tuesday when asked if he stands by his previous comments that al-Qaeda has been weakened despite the recent threat, according to the pool report.

“There’s no question that core al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan has been severely diminished,” he said. “It’s leadership decimated and there’s no question it’s on the run.”

But they seem to be running towards us.

“For many years now, it has been less organized and less capable of coordinating attacks on a scale that it was able to do, most notably on 9-11,” Carney said.  “And that remains the case."

Carney’s comments came while on Air Force One headed to Phoenix for President Barack Obama’s jobs’ speech on Tuesday.

So let’s review: Al Qaeda is on the run. The economy is doing great, we just need more government spending. And Benghazi and the IRS are phony scandals. Thank goodness Obama has restored honesty to government.

Greg Gutfeld said on “The Five” the other day that nerObama is technically correct when he states the Al Qaeda has been “decimated’. Decimation, as practiced by the Romans, is the act of killing every tenth man.

So with that in mind, we must deduce that 90% of Al Qeada is intact.
