Jay Z, Beyonce Appear At Justice For Trayvon Rally

From a cheering New York Daily News:

Jay Z, Beyonce appear at ‘Justice for Trayvon Martin’ vigil in Manhattan with slain teen’s mother

By Denis Slattery, Casey Tolan AND Larry Mcshane | July 20, 2013

Platinum-selling power couple Jay  Z and Beyoncé joined the crowd demanding “Justice for Trayvon Martin” at a Manhattan rally on Saturday where the pair greeted the slain teen’s mother.

Undoubtedly, the "power couple" spoke out against gun violence. And never mind that Mr. Z has gotten rich by promoting gun violence through his ‘music’ and videos.

The celebrity backing on a blistering day came after Sybrina Fulton proclaimed her son’s innocence and urged a federal civil rights prosecution of George Zimmerman.

Fulton, choked up by the racially diverse crowd’s cheers and support, had trouble speaking before declaring that 17-year-old Trayvon did not deserve to die. “He was a child,” she said outside 1 Police Plaza. “Don’t take my word for it. He had a drink and candy.” …

Items that just happen to also be popular ingredients for ‘Lean’ (aka ‘Purple Drank’), which Trayvon had previously posted about making and enjoying.

Some in the crowd of hundreds urged the [power] couple to make a stronger statement, chanting, “No concerts in Florida!”

Good luck with trying to get them to cut into their income. But why stop with Florida? They should boycott all the 30 states with ‘Stand Your Ground’ laws. Including California and Massachusetts.

“Today, all over the country, we’re standing up,” said Sharpton. “But nobody does it like New York.” Before the pair departed in a black SUV, the civil rights veteran hailed Jay Z and Beyoncé as “two of the baddest artists that’s ever been.” …

Remember when the ‘Reverend’ used to criticize rap music for causing so much destruction in the ‘black community’?

Sharpton called for a battle against “Stand Your Ground” laws in Florida and the 20 other states where they are on the books. He also called for federal charges against Zimmerman in the case.

“We’re going to make sure there is an aggressive civil rights investigation,” Sharpton promised. “We are trying to get justice, not get something off our chests.” …

When will the victims of Al Sharpton ever get their justice?

And there is this, from a star-struck Associated Press:

Jamie Foxx backs Trayvon Martin’s mom ‘forever’

By RYAN PEARSON | July 20, 2013

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Hours after President Barack Obama delivered remarks about Trayvon Martin and the George Zimmerman trial, Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson addressed the racially charged case at Comic-Con in San Diego.

What a perfect setting.

Foxx was at the massive pop culture convention to promote his role as the villain Electro in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." … Foxx said he was "disappointed" in the July 13 not guilty verdict in Florida. He had been among the most vocal celebrities expressing support for Martin’s family, having met the teen’s mother Sybrina Fulton at an awards show.

Where she was in heavy mourning.

"She’s always been courageous in saying this has never been about race."

Really? Someone needs to alert that media that Trayvon’s mother has been saying this was never about race. We have never heard it. In fact, we have only heard her say just the opposite.

"She said it’s about 17-year-old kids. We have to protect our kids. So I stand with her forever," Foxx said… Foxx said Martin’s case was part of an "epidemic" of gun violence in the US.

"When you look at Sandy Hook and Aurora and all these different things where we’re losing our children. Chicago — 67 kids, people killed in a week — we have an epidemic," he said. "And it’s up to us as the grown folks to be smart enough and intelligent and nice to each other to have a difference of opinion, but also understand that we have to come to a solution."

Perhaps we should all boycott movies that glorify violence. And Mr. Foxx should stop making them. In fact, he should give all the money he has made glorifying gun violence to some charity to help his victims.

Samuel L. Jackson was also on hand at the convention, promoting the remake of "RoboCop."…

[Jackson] said, he was "encouraged by the attitude of people after the verdict, that people are willing to stand up and take a stand and get out in the streets, and let their voices be heard."

And never mind that RoboCop is also all about ‘gun violence.’ As have been most of Mr. Jackson’s cinematic contributions to our culture.

  1. Maybe Mr. Z and his wife can talk their friends Gloria Estefan, Marc Anthony, Venus Williams, and Serena Williams, as minority owners of the Miami Dolphins, into selling their stake in the racist NFL florida team.

I imagine that a little research into the investments of the Z couple might be enlightening.

Isn’t it amazing that once Ms. Fulton joined the millionaires club, thanks to the homeowners association where little Trayvon snuffed it, she is suddenly hanging out with the hollywood elite. If not for these same people, Trayvon may have concentrated more on his school studies instead of trying to be a gangsta thug that their movies and music promote.

    Party on Sybrina!

Good ol Al is suffering from Twana Brawley syndrome.
Race monger, your day of judgement approaches from what I’ve seen of you lately.
    Fry!

Seems like li’l Travon got a dose
    of Col. Colt’s Equality treatment.

  4. I know what brown nosing is, but when you’ve managed to get that far up that your whole body is brown, well … you’ve gone too far.

“Sybrina Fulton … urged a federal civil rights prosecution of George Zimmerman.”

Talk about moving the goal posts.

At first the Martin family said, “All we want is an arrest.”

Then “All we want is a trial.”

    Then they wanted a conviction.

Now that the jury has spoken, they want a Federal civil rights prosecution.

The eyewitness testimony, forensic evidence, and expert testimony submitted on Z’man’s behalf and the resulting jury verdict, all rendered in a lynch mob atmosphere, is dismissed as insufficient. More blood is demanded.

why is it that everyone on the race baiting side of this issue seems to think that it is perfectly normal for someone to walk up to a perfect stranger and, instead of simply asking, “why are you following me?” you punch him in the face, knock him down and start wailing on him?
is this acceptable behavior in the hood? anywhere? is that type of behavior protected by skin color? what part of a civilized society should this be acceptable in? can any of those skin hustlers give a legitimate answer to this question?
can I do this to someone? and will celebrities and congressman and presidents gather around me and my family to expound on what an innocent saint I am?
what kind of message are they sending to the next poor black child that wants his 15 mins of fame?
forgive them father, even though they know EXACTLY what they are doing.

Wonder if the mother paid for that T-shirt with the 12 year old Trayvon trademarked pic or was it a donation from the nation of islam? Understand now that she has “Moved on up”, she has purchased a FLY ride and hopes to have a monument built to her son. Maybe a granite bag of Skittles and some of Trayvon’s hoodie buds could mimick the F.Scott Fitzgerald admirer’s annual pilgrimage to his tomb and left a martini on his birthday but, in Trayvon’s case, leave a joint or some lean.
