Jeh Johnson Assures: "I believe We Will Stem This Tide"

From NBC News:

Undocumented Immigrants Are Being Deported Faster: Jeh Johnson

By Elisha Fieldstadt | July 6, 2014

Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson said the surge of undocumented immigrants flooding into the country is "primarily" due to poor conditions in Central America, but the U.S. is gaining ground.

Because up until last December there was no poverty or violence in Central America.

"I believe we will stem this tide," Johnson assured David Gregory on NBC’s "Meet the Press." "We have dramatically reduced the turnaround time from 33 to 4 days."

What utter mendacity. Mr. Johnson means they are releasing these illegal aliens in the US even faster. Which means without any medical screenings or background check. Which means the tide will increase even more.

By the way, in this same interview Mr. Johnson also claimed: "Our border is not open to illegal migration." — So we must be dreaming all of this.

But a different deportation process is required for children who cross the border alone, and Johnson didn’t say whether the children would be ultimately sent out of the country. "We have to do right by the children," he said.

Which means they will not be sent out of the country. And everyone knows it.  Mr. Johnson is giving the mother of all dog whistles to the Central Americans.

"The deferred action program is for kids who came to this country seven years ago," Johnson clarified, saying he doesn’t think a misinterpretation of that policy is at the root of the influx. Instead, the conditions in Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador are the "push factor" creating the surge, he said.

Of course it’s not Obama’s fault for giving amnesty to ‘children.’ These three countries suddenly became unlivable in December.

And it is just a coincidence that they are the three closest non-contiguous countries to the US that you can walk to the border from.
