Jesse Jackson ‘Confronts’ Tea Partiers

From The Hill:

Rev. Jesse Jackson confronts Tea Partiers

By Christina Wilkie – 03/21/10

Rev. Jesse Jackson confronted an angry crowd of approximately 200 Tea Party protesters outside the Capitol on Sunday evening while his son, Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-Ill.), filmed the encounter on his cell phone.

Jackson was visiting the Capitol to witness the expected passage of healthcare reform legislation, and he walked out of the building at 6:45 p.m. with his son. As he walked by a grassy knoll below the Speaker’s Lobby balcony, protesters were chanting anti-reform slogans and waving signs.

Jackson walked to the edge of a small stone wall and watched the crowd. Protesters recognized him moments later and, as if on cue, the whole crowd turned in unison away from the balcony and faced Jackson.

The majority of the Tea Partiers limited their comments to healthcare, but one man yelled through a loudspeaker, "When [Martin Luther King, Jr.] was killed, you weren’t there!" In fact, Jackson was in the hotel with King in 1968 on the day he was assassinated.

In fact, the man was obviously referencing Mr. Jackson’s oft-told lie about Martin Luther King, Jr. dying in his arms.

Rep. Jackson said he "relished" watching his father interact with the crowd. "He ran on platforms of healthcare reform during both of his presidential runs in 1984 and 1988," he said, "so this is a monumental day for him." As for why his dad chose to talk to the Tea Partiers, Jackson said he didn’t know, but that he was filming it all "for posterity."

Mr. Jackson talked to the Tea Parties? When? We only see him smirking in the video clips.

Jackson’s interaction was particularly tense given the assault on Saturday of two black congressmen by Tea Party protesters. Reps. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) and John Lewis (D-Ga.) were spat at and called the N-word as they entered the Capitol.

What blatant lies. Again, the videotapes do not support any of these claims that two bravos were called ‘N-words’ or spat upon.

If they did, we would see them on every channel in an endless loop, in the tradition of the Rodney King beating.

But if the media is going to create an historic moment, there must be villains.

Jackson called those incidents "ugly," but reminded reporters that far worse things had happened to him, and to Cleaver and Lewis, during the civil rights movement. "This is just oil on a hot stove." …

Such as what? Can anyone name one untoward thing that has ever happened to Mr. Jackson in his long and lucrative career as a race baiter?

Oh, never mind such details.

Still, watching Mr. Jackson bemused look while surveying the Tea Party crowd, we can’t help but imagine Marie Antoinette getting a similar chuckle as she beheld the unwashed masses beneath her balcony.

Only the skin color has changed. Not the content of their characters.

“Such as what? Can anyone name one untoward thing that has ever happened to Mr. Jackson in his long and lucrative career as a race baiter?”

How about all of the money he had to pay that ho to shut up about the kid he fathered? Do you have any idea how much time and effort the “Rev.” invested in extorting all of those Benjamins from Whitey only to have to turn around and just hand ‘em over like that?

  2. proreason

If there was ever a counter argument to evolution, Jesse Jackson is it.

  3. NoNeoCommies

Calling reps the “N-word” is no longer as insulting (as far as conservatives are concerned) as calling them Liberal, Democrat, or Progressive.
As far as spitting is concerned, I doubt any Tea partiers want to water a noxious weed.
It is entirely believable that Liberals would believe such actions occurred as it is exactly how they would act (but only the beginning of what they would do).

Personally I’d like to slap that smug smirk off his face.

Watching him has the same effect as taking my fingernails down a black board…but on steroids,

Ever notice his eyes….they always appear to be on both sides of his head instead of the front.

(I know…I shouldn’t make fun of some-one’s look, especially since I’m not so perfect but I just can’t help it where he and “Michele my belle” are concerned. Both irritate the pudding out of me)

  5. GetBackJack

I actually was there. No kidding.

High School Latin Club Convention in Memphis that week. High schools from across Tennessee sent the best of their Latin classes to memphis for a convention. The eight of us from our high school in Eastern Tennessee were rounded up by our chaperones and hustled out of our hotel and onto our bus and lickety split got the heck out of Dodge. I don’t know as that was necessary in retrospect, but at the time, the mood in Memphis the morning after …. was, unfriendly.

Other than that, I have only the greatest contempt for all things relative to this faux-Reverend. Can you imagine the karma blowback of being this man and claiming the title Reverend in front of your name?

    • jobeth

I’ve always thought both him and his anti pal “Rev” Sharpton were such farces.

Look what they do to white men who claim to be pastors. Huckabee? Nothing ever said about the blacks claiming “reverendhood” but that’s all I heard about Huckabee…and never anything nice. They kept trying to dwell on that portion of his life and not his Governorship.

      But who’s surprised.

    • Liberals Demise

Both of these aforesaid Bravos worship at the altar
of the Almighty Money (manna) pit.

They will be judged soon because……. “all your money,
      won’t another minute buy.”

Spitting and calling names is not nice.

    There I said it.

Now Media Matters for Amerika can accuse me of fomenting spitting and name calling.

…..”Only the skin color has changed. Not the content of their characters’……

Wouldn’t Hitler find it ironic that those who most vociferously espouse his principles and utilize his tactics are blacks?

History has definitely repeated itself…….in spades! (Now I’ll go wash out my ‘racist’ mouth with some good Kentucky bourbon.)

    • Right of the People

10-4 MG. Have you ever tried Eagle Rare, single barrel bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery? Excellent.

The “Reverend” Jackson gives black a bad name. What a waste of oxygen.

Sharpton: “When America overwhelming elected Barack Obama, they voted for change.”

    Moustache: “Some would say socialism.”

Sharpton: “(pause) When America elected Barack Obama, they voted for socialism.”

    – on Geraldo, 3/21/10

The scam has been exposed. America knows unquestionably who these people are now.

This battle is lost, the war has just begun. Liberty vs tyranny.

    US vs them.

  9. JohnMG

Hey, I just remembered something. Wasn’t it Jackson who wanted to cut somebody-or-others nuts off? Now they’re buds??

    What gives?

    • proreason

He realized the moron isn’t after his women.

    • MinnesotaRush

They kissed each other’s ass and made up!

Oh geez! Can I say ass? Is that okay?

If need be, change ass to butt. There. PC, ya’ know.

    • Liberals Demise

You can say ass MR if it fits the hole you’re talking about.
In this case you are spot on!

    • TwilightZoned

MR..LD You made my day! I laughed soooooo hard!
Some much needed tension release. Thanks!

  10. Reality Bytes

Throw ‘em peanuts Jesse. You’re treating them like animals in a zoo anyway.

  11. thinkaboutit

Notice how Jackson is looking down at them as if he is a psychopathic kid holding a magnifying glass towards a group of ants and tries to provoke them by grabbing their signs. His and other’s gloating will be replaced by their normal visage of fake somberness soon enough.

    • Reality Bytes

History WILL Repeat Itself. I just hope Obama doesn’t send Petraeus into quell rioting middle class Americans like Roosevelt tried with MacArthur who he sent to crush the Veterans’ Riots.

Actually, maybe I do hope he does. If history does repeat, then maybe it will Petraeus’ moment.

  12. Mithrandir

Republicans get a FREE PASS FOR LIFE card on anything they do or say.

Ted Kennedy killed his mistress in a drunken stupor

Robert Byrd is a former KKK recruiter

    Jackson and Sharpton are bigots

Obama sat in a racist church for 20 years

We have tolerated racist affirmative action for decades despite it’s obvious racial favoritism

NOPE, no matter what the GOP allegedly says or does, it can be ignored forever. ..

  13. pamypo

Jackson is a race baitor. He wanted someone to call him what he is.

    • JohnMG

Well, pamypo, you’re mostly on the right track with your assessment, but I think the term you’re looking for is masturbator—as in, “Jackson is a masturbator.”

That’s a much more accurate description…..and probably why his eyes are bugged out all the time, too.

    • jobeth

John…there’s a reason we all love ya so much….lol

  14. White_Polluter

Jackson was not addressing the crowd. He thought he saw one of his offspring in the front row.
