Jesse: Blacks Can’t Vote Against O-Care

From The Hill:

Jesse Jackson: ‘You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man’

By Mike Soraghan – 11/18/09

The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Wednesday night criticized Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.) for voting against the Democrats’ signature healthcare bill.

“We even have blacks voting against the healthcare bill,” Jackson said at a reception Wednesday night. “You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.”

The remark stirred a murmur at the reception, held by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Foundation as part of a series of events revolving around the 25th anniversary of Jackson’s run for president. Several CBC members were in attendance, including Chairwoman Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), who’d introduced Jackson.

Davis, who is running for governor, is the only black member of Congress from Alabama. He is also the only member of the CBC to have voted against the healthcare bill earlier this month

Davis’s Democratic primary opponent, Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks, highlighted Davis’s status as the lone African-American vote against the bill.

“He was the only Black Caucus member to vote against it. I don’t get it,” Sparks said last week, according to The Associated Press. Sparks is white.

Davis said he voted against the healthcare bill because "House leadership’s approach is not the best we can do." He said he preferred a version passed by the Senate Finance Committee because it reduces subsidization of the healthcare industry, taxes high-value health plans instead of wealthy people, and is more effective in getting employers to help with health coverage…

Everything is black and white in Mr. Jackson’s constricted world.

By the way, this reception celebrating the 25th anniversary of Mr. Jackson’s run for president is not to be confused with Mr. Jackson’s birthday celebration on Friday, November 13, 2009, which was held in Beverly Hills at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

For some people life is just one big party.

“Jesse Jackson: ‘You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man’”

Whatha hey, Jess .. you can be half white and call yourself a black man! What you talkin’???

Glenn Beck had an entire audience of black Americans and open discussion. Some differences such as those that want to be called Americans, and not Afro-Americans. The one thing they all complained of was other black people harassing them for being conservative and not voting for Obama. It’s very brave for them to go public, because at the least, it will make harassment worse, and could even endanger their lives. God Bless them and keep them safe.

You know, I’d be pissed if some talking head told me because I’m white I can’t call myself white because I am against some crap legislation …
How must black people feel, being told what they have to do to be “real” and down with Jesse Jackson and what it is to be “black?”

This is the Jackass that smeared the blood of Martin Luther King on his sweater to pretend that he was close by. They actually have the beady little bastard doing it. Creep.

When will the MSM consider Jackson and Sharpton the jokes that they are?

  6. JohnDD says:

OK, let’s follow this reasoning. If…..

Jesse Jackson: ‘You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man’

Jesse Jackson: ‘You can’t vote FOR healthcare and call yourself a WHITE man’

Jesse Jackson: ‘You CAN vote against healthcare and call yourself a black WOMAN’

Jesse Jackson: ‘You MAY vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man IF you have some WHITE blood in you’

Jesse Jackson: ‘Only WHITES and BLACKS are allowed to vote on healthcare. Asians and Hispancs are not allowed to vote because I don’t know what they should call themselves if they vote for or against it.”

Jesse Jackson: ‘Whether your are, or are not, a black man is based solely upon whether you do, or do not, always meet my criteria and pass my litmus tests.”

  7. JohnDD says:

Hmmm, here are a few more logical extensions of Jesse Jackson’s thinking. I think what he needs to do is to put out a list of do’s and don’ts entitled “QUALIFICATIONS FOR BEING ABLE TO CALL YOURSELF A BLACK MAN.”

Jesse Jackson: ‘You can’t marry a white woman and call yourself a black man’

Jesse Jackson: ‘You can’t have white blood in you and call yourself a black man’

Jesse Jackson: ‘You can’t be a Republican and call yourself a black man’

Jesse Jackson: ‘You can’t watch Fox News and call yourself a black man’

Of course, I’m just guessing here, because I’m white. This is why it is so critical for a pure, bona fide, racially pure black man like Jesse Jackson to write a comprehensive list. Wait a minute. What if one of the things in the list is ‘You can’t tell other black people how to vote and call yourself a black man’ If that was the case, then Jesse Jackson would not be black, and so he would not have the moral, and pure racial authority to write a list. Groan, this is so confusing, trying to figure out if we are white, black, or whatever else we may be.

Try doing a Google search with this entry “the wisdom of Jesse Jackson” putting it in with quotation marks. You get a whopping six (6) responses, that’s no joke.

    Do the same with

“the wisdom of Abraham Lincoln” 2,200,000

    “the wisdom of JFK” 578,000

“the wisdom of Joe Biden” 185,000

“the wisdom of Al Sharpton” 140,000 (bet that will really get Jesse’s goat)

“the wisdom of Bob Hope” 39,800

“the wisdom of David Duke” 4 (well, at least Jesse did better than the former head of the KKK)

“the wisdom of Barack Obama” 2,320,000 (the guy whose **** Jesse wanted to cut off)

“the wisdom of Jesus” 6,650,000 (I guess the Reverend didn’t pick up much of that wisdom)

  9. Reality Bytes says:

    What’s 1/2 black – 1/2 white & red all over?

    That’s Right!

Barack Hussein Obama Hmmm, Hmmm, Hmmm.

  10. proreason says:

    It’s come to this.

Now black people are racists against themselves if they don’t agree with the fuhrer race-baiters of the moment…..Jackson, Sharpton, and Obamy.

    But I love completing puzzles.

And without a doubt, this closes the circle.

  11. Rusty Shackleford says:

One very telling thing about his statement is that he believes it to be reparations. As in: It’s all about being black and getting what you’re entitled to.

Go back to leading street demonstrations in Hymietown.
