I am as capable as anyone here in making strong statements, but I just don’t see McCain’s comments as justifying the negative comments here. McCain is trying to be gracious at a time that Obama has not yet been sworn in as President. McCain has always tried to function in an old fashioned sense when politicians were more genial to each other, and he does not want to come off as a poor loser. FYI: McCain voted AGAINST the auto bailout.

Well, he is stupid, Lipstick, but he’s also gullible and weak. His nomination and the period right before it must have felt like a massage, as the Left and the media uniformly called him a “great guy” and a worthy candidate. And then suddenly, the new line was that he had “abandoned all his principles! He was just like Bush!” And I think that nonsense really hurt his little feelings. So now we’ll get a lot more of this beaten, tired and whipped little fellow forever bouncing back and forth over Obama and the Democrats like a little puppy, trying to win back the stroking he used to get. But it’s over. They used you, Maverick, and you no longer serve any purpose except to further embarrass the party you profess to belong to. You were a tool to elect the biggest fraud this country’s ever perpetrated upon itself, and now no one wants you.

And it’s a shame. For all of the inspiration to be found in your military background, one would think that “go along to get along” would be the last attitude you’d take in Washington DC. Pitiful.

We all have our own thresholds and I didn’t have it in me to support McCain. He’s a politician’s politician and anyone that tries to tell me illegal foreigners trump my vote can go to Hell. I’ll consider the Republican party again when they get rid of these liberal enablers.

I think we are all missing the most obvious explanation. McCain is just stupid. All during the last 8 years the Democrats called Bush, stupid, selfish and corrupt. Then during the campaign of ’08 The Democrats called McCain, George Bush. Now that real stupidity and corruption has reared it’s ugly head on the Democrats side, surprise, surprise, McCain is doing backflips to defuse it. Sorry, no other explanation than sheer stupidity.

It’s baffling and I think ego driven. It may come from the belief that our opinions have some value-like now, for example. We don’t need John McCain to explain anything to us because he doesn’t understand very much. He doesn’t understand that Democrats will only like and accept him when it’s in their interest to do so. He doesn’t understand that while he works so hard to be loved by the Democrats, he’s loathed by conservatives. Despite most of the choices Obama has made for various jobs, George Soros still owns the Democrat party–McCain- Feingold is the main reason for that. That, in part, represents McCain’s effort to get along with the Democrats. McCain’s spotty career is replete with examples of him shooting himself in the foot. His views on immigration border on schizophrenic–there are many, many more. Our country cannot afford John McCain.

You have to remember the libs idea of compromise to give them what they want. Even back in the 90′s when the Republicans controled both houses the libs still kept screaming that the big, bad Republicans won’t compromise. I voted for Palin myself, unfortunately she had that loser on her ticket. Until the RNC decides what in the heck they are, we’re going to be in for a lot of Obamyisms.

While listening to McCain, I am just hoping a long cane comes out of no where, goes around his neck, and yanks him off stage, then someone with some balls replaces him with more sense, and less wimp.

I suspect democrats voted for our weakest candidate in the primaries, so that they could go up against McCain. So tired of Republicans nominating people as a lifetime achievement award. McCain is a candidate for secretary of state, or secretary of defense, not president.

Only people who would make a good president should be allowed to compete in the Republican playoffs. You have to assess the worst case scenario and decide what would actually happen if people were dumb enough to nominate your dick lugar, and your steve forbes, phil gramm, or Fred Thompson….. look what happened when the democrats went with Mondale, dukakis, Kerry?

I do appreciate his service and sacrifice for our country. But having said that, conservatives usually win the White House and the Country when we run conservative candidates. John McCain was a fence sitter. I applaud him for being his maverick self, but most conservatives/Republicans won’t vote for him. And when he has to run against the new messiah and deal with ACORNs imaginary voters, well, that just spelled doom for conservatives in this country.

This is so annoying. We have to stop electing politicians who insist on telling us what we care about. And – don’t throw stuff at me – but Palin’s got some of this in her, too. It’s incredibly condescending, and I don’t know why we put up with it. If they spent half the time discussing actual policies this past campaign than they did pontificating about what Americans “really” care about, we might have actually gotten to vote based on information, rather than feelings. Go away, Juan. AZ – get movin’. Sherriff Joe for Senate in 2010.

McCain says one thing but I’m hearing another, namely that the country is in such deep doo-doo that it shouldn’t matter what scandals are coming up we should all pull together for the common good. How Clintonesque.

But this is going far beyond the “What the definition of is is,” this is old school blatant corruption with kickbacks and favors. Even if we had a capable and proven leader I think it would be difficult to think we should just look away to save ourselves. With Obambi…….jeeesh!

And I am beginning to wonder if there wasn’t some smoky room deal made where the Republicans basically said “fuggedaboutit” as the economic crisis was so bad they’d prefer the Democrats get saddled with it.

What a dismal candidate McCain was from the gitgo. How the hell did he ever get nominated? Something is wrong with the GOP when people like Bob Dole & McCain get nominated.

Maybe we ought to use the Democrat nominating rule of awarding state delegates to nominees based on vote percentage within a givin state. Anything to avoid another McCain type nomination.
