Joy: Obama Vows Not To Smoke In WH

Obama pledges not to smoke in White House

WASHINGTON – Barack Obama says you won’t catch him lighting up a cigarette in the smoke-free White House.

“There are times where I’ve fallen off the wagon,” the president-elect said when asked in a broadcast interview whether he has kicked the habit.

“I’ve done a terrific job, under the circumstances, of making myself much healthier,” he said. “And I think that you will not see any violations of these rules in the White House,” he said on Sunday’s “Meet the Press” on NBC.

Obama told the magazine Men’s Health in an interview for its November issue that he wished he had more time for staying fit and that he still occasionally smoked a cigarette.

Obama said in that interview that he had bummed a cigarette a couple of times during the campaign. “But I figure, seeing as I’m running for president, I need to cut myself a little slack,” he said.

We are so relieved to hear this. We have been tossing and turning about it for weeks.

Still, remember back when we had something approximating a republic?

(We think we do. Though maybe it is a “recovered memory.”)

Oddly enough, the photo of Mr. Obama smoking in Kenya is from the same trip where he donned that Muslim-like outfit we were the first to post about.

Of course this photo will probably get him into more trouble with his base.

    very odd the whole time he was running the MSM never once had a pic of him smoking, Gee whiz wonder what else we might have missed???

    He is a mathematical genius too, he just said on fox that Pearl Harbor was bombed 78 years ago!
    He has also stated that a bomb was dropped on Pearl.

    Sounds like he thinks he did us a favor by running for president and we owe him some slack. Like when he spends a trillion dollars on union labor we don’t need, we’ll have to understand it is for our own good.

    My guess is Obama is close to a two pack a day guy. Just that the media would never picture their “chosen” One smoking. That is soooo uncool and un PC. And never, after the media campaign against tobacco, would the media want to remind people that the man elected to be strong for our nation doesn’t have the strength to quit smoking.

    Tobacco companies have been banned from advertising on TV and radio because the impressionable youth becomes convinced it is fashionable to smoke. Now we have a Messiah – worshipped by the younger generation – chain smoking from the highest office in the land.

    All BO talks about is his own health. What about the poor example he is setting. Apparently, BO does not care about the health of our children.

    But the rules never really apply to the liberals themselves. There are always extenuating circumstances.

    I would bet that 100% of the people asked to pick which one of these guys is most likely gay, would pick the guy in the red shirt over the guy in the blue shirt.

    You all have missed the true comparison/point of this little dity – that like their honored ancestors of the past – the msm of today is doing an FDR for BHO (wanna start a pool on exactly how long it will be until The One ™ is presented by the msm as BHO?!?).

    Just as in yesteryear, when the msm did not show FDR in his wheelchair – the msm is now not showing BHO smoking.

    No need ever to show a Democrat in any bad light, weak light or most especially a human light. Ever.
