Judge Grants ‘Asylum’ To Obama’s Aunt

From a cheering Associated Press:

US court grants asylum to Obama’s African aunt

By Monday, May 17, 2010

CLEVELAND — A U.S. immigration court has granted asylum to President Barack Obama’s African aunt, allowing her to stay in the country, her attorneys announced Monday.

The decision was mailed Friday and comes three months after Kenya native Zeituni Onyango, the half-sister of Obama’s late father, testified at a closed hearing in Boston, where she arrived in a wheelchair and two doctors testified in support of her case.

The basis for her asylum request hadn’t been made public.

Why not?

People who seek asylum must show that they face persecution in their homeland on the basis of religion, race, nationality, political opinion or membership in a social group.

Mr. Obama’s cousin, Raila Amollo Odinga, is currently the Prime Minister of Kenya. Mr. Odinga is the son of the first Vice President of Kenya, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga. His brother, Oburu Odinga, is also currently a Member of Parliament (MP).

So who exactly is going to persecute Aunt Zeituni?

Her lawyer, Margaret Wong of Cleveland, said last year that Onyango first applied for asylum "due to violence in Kenya." The East African nation is fractured by cycles of electoral violence every five years.

In a November interview with The Associated Press, Onyango said she was disabled and was learning to walk again after being paralyzed from Guillain-Barre syndrome, an autoimmune disorder.

Not only did Aunt Z get public housing, once she had her taxpayer funded back surgery.

We’re always told, for instance, that illegals only get healthcare at the ER. Did Aunt Z walk into an ER and demand a hip operation? Or she would die in the street?

Onyango moved to the United States in 2000. Her first asylum request was rejected, and she was ordered deported in 2004. But she didn’t leave the country and continued to live in public housing in Boston.

Applicants for federal public housing – which make up 75 percent of Boston’s housing developments – have since 1995 had to provide documents proving that they are here legally. Their information is verified with a federal database.

So how was Aunt Zeituni able to get public housing? According to Massachusetts officials, a 1977 federal consent decree prohibits them from denying public housing to illegal immigrants. The decree stemmed from ‘a class-action lawsuit.’

Mind you, not only did Aunt Zeituni get taxpayer subsidized public housing, once she had her taxpayer-funded back surgery, she was moved to ‘a more accessible’ apartment, which was funded entirely by the taxpayers.

Onyango’s status as an illegal immigrant was revealed just days before Obama was elected in November 2008.

Remember the media’s only outrage was that her illegal status was uncovered — by the British press.

Obama said he did not know his aunt was living here illegally and believes laws covering the situation should be followed.

Oh, sure. And just look how they are being followed.

    From The Boston Globe:

Obama’s aunt given OK to stay in United States

A Boston immigration judge has granted President Barack Obama’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango, permission to stay in the United States, federal officials said today.

Immigration Judge Leonard I. Shapiro, after hearing closed-door testimony from the Kenyan native in February, granted her plea on Friday. Onyango had defied a deportation order and lived quietly in a Boston public housing project until it was revealed shortly before the 2008 election that she was here illegally. …

After the publicity, she fled to Cleveland, hired Wong, and petitioned immigration judge to allow her to stay in the United States.

In February, Wong said Onyango would argue that she should stay in this country because she suffers health problems and because she feared that she would become the target of tribal violence if she were forced to return to her homeland.

Onyango said she suffers from Guillain-Barre syndrome, an autoimmune disorder.

During that hearing, Shapiro heard five hours of testimony by Onyango and two physicians.

    Is anyone surprised?

Whoa. Who could have seen that coming.

It’s almost like she got a special deal.

But with our government, that just can’t be.

Well like we didn’t expect this one. What a bunch of bs (I am really, really attempting to not write obscene things here). Wish that American citizens could rise up and appeal these types of bogus Political decisions (like any Judge who wants to continue sitting on the bench (or living)) would rule against Dear Leader’s relative. Don’t all ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS WHO HAVE BEEN ADJUDICATED TO BE DEPORTED WANT THE POTUS BEHIND THEM & THEIR JUDICIAL DECISION [Sorry for the yelling but this @(*$&^% me off]

    • JohnMG says:

That’s not really Obama’s aunt Zeituni Onyango. Look closely at this photograph and you’ll see it’s really Michael Jackson incarnate.

    • Steve says:

Notice that in that photograph Aunt Zeituni is walking. That was after she left the court house, back in February.

Then, like today, she had entered the court house in a wheelchair.

    • proreason says:

Looks like she came up with about a grand for a cashmere coat too.

The law was not followed! What now Mr Obama.

  4. BigOil says:

So what laws have been broken by this oppressed Kenyan, and subsequently ignored by an American judge? Lets see:

    – An illegal alien for 10 years.
    – Contempt of court.
    – Illegally obtained federally subsidized housing.
    – Donated money to a US politician.

Meanwhile, if any of us American citizens so much as get a traffic ticket and fail to either show up in court or pay the ticket, a warrant is issued for our arrest.

It must be nice to be granted all the rights of US citizenship with none of the responsibilities.

This is how tin-plated dictators act. Again, the regime shows its true identity. Fortunately, it will continue to do so and cause more people to wake up. Eventually, many will have to face the blaring sound of barry’s one-man-band that keeps waking the baby.

And, equally as pissed off as that baby’s mother, there will be retaliation in the form of ousting him, them and those.

So, laugh it up, clown. Your day is coming. And it’s not going to turn out in your favor. I still believe that this nation has a unique characteristic and that is: When a person is rocketed to stardom in such haste and on a light-speed chariot, the fall they take is faster and more permanent. It does take time for it to occur but the boy is helping things along nicely with each and every bold, arrogant move.

You will notice that Aunty isn’t exactly embraced by those you might think would typically do so. Maybe it’s because she’s not a Mexican. However, I think that even the MSM can’t ignore the preferential treatment awarded this criminal. This is Soviet Bloc 101. This is DDR activity. Protection for a chosen few..and to say nothing of what the hispanic (illegal or otherwise) must think.

“Hey, how come she gets a house and new hips and nice clothes? Oh, that’s right….she’s a political prop for the president….Hey, he acts just like a gangster…just like people have been saying.”

Don’t laugh. Such opinions are formulating right now. His actions are blatant and he has absolutely no regard for this nation’s laws when it has to do with interfering what he wants. AND…he just gave ALL OF THE US the finger once again. And more citizens than usual have noticed.

So keep it up, mr ears.

Aunt illegally donated to Obama’s campaign & bought lottery tickets.
But, George said Obama’s Aunt moved to US for work & better life.

And Obama’s Uncle OBAMA III (aka OMAR, aka Oh-Bummer) is still hiding in the U.S. Obama’s unlost brother coverted mulsim Obongo (aka Roy) on his 2nd marriage in the U.S. for decades now. And Auntie Zeituni danced for Obama in Kenya as she told him of more relatives who disappear in U.S.

    The Times
    October 30, 2008
….: Barack Obama’s aunt Zeituni Onyango
‘Auntie Zeituni’, who, with Uncle Omar, dropped out of sight after moving to the US, is backing the presidential candidate from her modest flat

A second relative believed to be the long-lost “Uncle Omar” described in the book was beaten by armed robbers with a “sawed-off rifle” while working in a corner shop in the Dorchester area of the city. He was later evicted from his one-bedroom flat for failing to pay $2,324.20 (£1,488) arrears, according to the Boston Housing Court.

Just across town from where Mr Obama made history as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review, some of his closest blood relatives have confronted the harshness of immigrant life in America.

In his book Mr Obama writes that “Uncle Omar” had gone missing after moving to Boston in the 1960s – a quarter-century before Mr Obama first visited his family in Kenya. Aunt Zeituni is now also living in Boston, and recently made a $260 campaign contribution to her nephew’s presidential bid from a work address in the city.

George Onyango said that his aunt had left for the US about eight years ago but sent him e-mails. “She left to find work and I suppose she thought her life would be better there,”

Aunt Zeituni, then a computer programmer at Kenya Breweries in Nairobi, is portrayed as a feisty woman who proclaims herself “the champion dancer”. Uncle Omar, by contrast, remains a mysterious figure who left for America and never came back. At one point in the book a half-sister tells Mr Obama that people “like our Uncle Omar, in Boston” move to the West.

“They promise to return after completing school. They say they’ll send for the family once they get settled. At first they write once a week. Then it’s just a month. Then they stop writing completely. No one sees them again.”

The Times could not determine their immigration status and an official at Boston City Hall said that Ms Onyango was a resident of Flaherty Way but not registered to vote on the electoral roll. However, that Ms Onyango made a contribution to the Obama campaign would indicate that she is a US citizen. Records at the Boston City Hall confirmed Zeituni Onyango’s birthdate as May 29, 1952.

It is not clear when Ms Onyango first came to the US. She said: “I have been coming to America ever since 1975. I always come and go.”

An Associated Press story about poor people buying lottery tickets at cheque-cashing shops, from Cambridge, Massachusetts, on May 25, 2003, quotes a Zeituni Onyango whom it describes as out of work and without much money. “It’s like when I feel luck might fall I do that, like manna might come from Heaven. That’s when I buy it,” she told AP.

Records show she used the housing authority’s address to make her campaign contribution.

A public record search lists an “O. Onyango Obama”, born on June 3, 1944, at 24 Colgate Road whose name matches that of the “Uncle Omar” in Dreams from My Father.

Nelson Ochieng,…”Before he went to America we all knew him as Omar, but he dropped that bit, changing it to Obama Onyango,..”

Gail Greenberger, the landlady…in 1994, knew her tenant, however, by the name Obama Onyango. “We used to call him ‘Oh-bummer!’. That is how I pronounced Obama in 2000,” she said.

Ms Greenberger said she inherited him with the building but was forced to evict him in 2000 for nonpayment of his rent of about $500 a month. “…He bolted from the apartment,” she said. Records of Boston Housing Court show a “summary process” was executed against Mr Onyango on February 23, 2000, for unpaid rent of $2,324.70.

Mr Onyango was a business partner in a “convenience store” called the Wells Market at 1760 Dorchester Avenue, now a Hispanic bodega, or grocery. Records list him as the treasurer of the corporation, which was set up without his name in 1992 and involuntarily wound up in 2007 after failing to file annual reports since 1997.

In 1994 Obama Onyango was attacked in an armed robbery at the Wells Market, the Boston Herald reported. According to a police report…”

Dershaye Geresu, the Ethiopian-born president of Wells Market Inc, confirmed that Mr Onyango was a “cousin” of Mr Obama.

Lennard Tenende, whose wife Lucy was secretary to the shop, said: “I don’t know where he is…..” Mr Ochieng said that he believed Mr Onyango ran a chain of stores.

The Obama campaign was repeatedly approached for comment yesterday but had not responded at the time of going to press.

“The basis for her asylum request was never made public”

Did anyone expect it to be different? Lil nephew’s school, birth, etc records are also not made public.

I suppose they must all be in the same lockbox.

Perhaps Obalmy made a deal with auntie.
    “I won’t tell if you don’t”

Now both will be here without legitimate reason! lol
