I’m all for the toys, I just wish with all the other problems here we’d stop throwing money away on going up there. I think NASA should be re-tasked with creating breakthroughs in science, heaven knows they’ve got the people and facilities to do it.

I use a Dell Optiplex 580. It’s three years old but still going strong because it has enough RAM (8GB) and an adequate processor. I don’t do games or other video intensive stuff, just word processing and Internet. Why do you ask?

NASA existed way before we wasted all that time and money going to the moon. It was formed back in the 1915 as NACA (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) with a charter to help design better airfoils and other things to help the aeronautics industry. In 1958 it became NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) so we could catch up with the Ruskies and Sputnik. Even if John the Adulterer hadn’t made a big thing about it, NASA was plotting a way to go to the moon and beyond before he even was in office.

Fun fact: It costs around 500K just to try and launch the shuttle, even if it never leaves the ground. What a great bargain that is.

Back on the subject at hand, the Kennedy’s have felt for years they are the US’s royal family and have always acted like it. And to think, it all started with bootlegging.

The nepotism thing is not just name recognition. It is family alliances. It is a throw back to earlier times. After Daly in Chicago, the place was going to hell in a handbasket. The unions were over reaching, corrupt officials were not keeping their word. The wrong people were getting bought off. It was a mess. Junior had to come in a striaghten it out.

If she’s anything like Caroline Kennedy, the analogy might be apt.

I would go one step further and say that too many people vote based on the sound of the last name, irregardless of the family.

I too am glad Jeb didn’t run.

Are you really so hypersensitive that you think SG was comparing Vicky to a horse? I didn’t even read it that way at all. But then again, I don’t read these comments looking to be offended. Is it possible that he was comparing one debauched appointment to another [possible] debauched appointment?

What’s with these thugs and crooks? They think they rule the country. Looks like we really do need a lesson in representative Democracy. For me, never seeing another Kennedy wou;ld be great.

And choosing a Senator for “wildcard” or “sentimental” reasons? Sounds like liberal Massachusetts-think.

Giving someone a U.S. Senate seat just because she was married to a Senator or friends with her husband’s fellow Senators is.
