Kerry: Dems Behind Due To Stupid Voters

From the Boston Herald:

John Kerry: Democrats’ woes stem from uninformed voters

By Hillary Chabot  |   Saturday, September 25, 2010

A testy U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry yesterday blamed clueless voters with short attention spans for the uphill battle beleaguered Democrats are facing against Republicans across the nation.

“We have an electorate that doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or what’s happening,” Kerry told reporters after touring the Boston Medical Center yesterday.

We thought that the Democrats counted on voters being influenced by a simple slogan. After all, didn’t ‘hope and change’ carry the day for Mr. Obama?

Conservative political blogger William Jacobson, who writes Legal Insurrection, immediately pounced on Kerry’s comments, saying that attitude is why voters are looking to shake up Capitol Hill by electing upstart candidates such as U.S. Sen. Scott Brown.

“It just continues the Democrats’ theme that the reason people are upset is because they don’t understand. They’re not smart enough. That sort of rhetoric just gets people even more upset,” said Jacobson…

And yet, as we have seen in townhalls and other confrontation, the voters usually know more about the legislation in question than our representatives.

Kerry made the remarks on voters following questions about U.S. Rep Barney Frank’s re-election campaign and queries about securing federal funding for the Hub hospital.

“I think a lot of the anger today – while it’s appropriate because Washington is broken – is not directed at the right people,” said Kerry. “Barney is prepared, as others are, to explain what we’re doing. I think when people hear the facts and they see what we’re doing, it frankly makes sense.”

Notice how uniformed Mr. Kerry is. Mr. Franks is well known for telling his constituents to shut up, when they ask him tough questions. Questions he cannot or will not answer.

Maybe Mr. Kerry should just stick to giving his opinions about the intelligence of our soldiers serving in Iraq.

Kerry: “I am behind my own stupidity and ignorance”.

Typical democrat. Looking down his nose at the rest of us. I think the anger is directed at exactly the right people. Your own arrogance here is proof of that. The major question is… can voter anger outshine voter fraud in the coming election.

When Democrats get all “voters are stupid” in plain view of the people they’re calling stupid… it means they’re nervous.

  3. Right of the People says:

It does make me wonder about people’s intelligence when pols like Kerry insult them and they still vote for him.

I still contend to have the privilege of voting you have to prove at the polling place that you pay taxes of some sort like income tax. That would keep the entitlement crowd away.

This morning I saw a sign that said “Early voting begins September 28th.” I guess this is the Dems vote early and often. Too many places now send out cards to registered voters for them to request a mail-in ballot. I guess that’s so they have a supply of “found” ballots like in Minnesota just in case they need them get a Dimocrap in.

What is the most astonishing political fact of the last 200 years…..not counting the fact that a hard-core marxist who was allowed to hide and or discount every single detail of his life, got elected president?

Here it is……the country would probably have done better under John Kerry than Barack Obama.

Of course, the same could be said about your pet rock.

  5. Petronius says:

Many American voters are smart enough to recognize Liberal politicians.

We know they’re Liberals if they believe the island of Guam will tip over and capsize. Or if they believe that jobs (“J-O-B-S”) is a three-letter word.

But since Liberals are always running away from their policies, the voters could use a little help in identifying them.

I would suggest that we burn the hammer and sickle onto the forehead of every Liberal politician with a red-hot branding iron.

Then the voters, even with their very short memory and poor public school education, might remember what a real Red looks like, and not be fooled for another generation.

  6. oldpuppydixie says:

Hey, ya gotta give Kerry credit for ONE thing…he marries well, winding up with the gillionaire wife of John Heinz.

    • proreason says:

      “he marries well”

There isn’t enough money in the world to make me do it.

Take any 1,000 men. 600 of them will stay with the mother of their children, even when the woman ages (and Julia Kerry was still attractive when she died at 61). 200 of them will separate because they have simply grown apart. 199 of them will find a younger woman (and thus marrying for who amounts to love for most men). 1 of them will marry somebody else for her money.

For a well-known politician to marry simply to further his career is almost as despicable as shooting yourself twice to get out of Vietnam, and then declaring you are a hero.

If there is anybody in the country who deserve more disdain than Barack Obama, it’s John Kerry.

Kerry is on the A-team of sociopaths with Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank, Al Toad and Nancy Pelosi.

  7. TerryAnne says:

How many more Dems think they can use the, “we just have to explain it (pass it, belabor it, etc.) before they understand it (know what’s in it, are sucessfully brainwashed, etc.)”?

Some form of this now seems to be the going catch phrase. At times, I wonder if they are trying to convince us…or themselves.

  8. Reality Bytes says:

Thank you Senator “Do You Know Who I Am” Kerry. What’s with this dope?

  9. Mae says:

When John “Vietnam War Hero” Kerry says something makes sense, run screaming in the other direction!

  10. AmericanIPA says:

“We have an electorate that doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or what’s happening,” Kerry told reporters after touring the Boston Medical Center yesterday.

    Thus: PRESIDENT Obama.

  11. Coco Q. Rico says:

I have to believe this will backfire eventually. They can’t keep on playing this card of “nuance.” I think even some people who fell for the “sophistication of the nuanced Left” argument in 2004 are starting to wake up and realize that sometimes, when things don’t sound right, it’s not because it’s going over our head, it’s because it’s beneath the dignity of a response.

  12. Liberals Demise says:

    Note to Mr. Kerry-Heinz :

    “Can you hear us now?”
    “”NO? …….. You will!!”

What will be your excuse then?
