–Ågot Valle: A politician and member of the Socialist Left Party, which in turn is a member of the Nordic Green Left Alliance. Commenting on Obama’s prize, Valle said, “. . . this was primarily an award on his work on, and commitment to, nuclear disarmament — and his dialogue. Of course there will be criticism, because he hasn’t achieved his goals yet. It will take time, but this is a support.”

–Inger-Marie Ytterhorn: A politician and member of the Progress Party.

–Kaci Kullmann Five: A politician and member of the Conservative Party (which is fiscally conservative but socially liberal).

Interesting, yes?

The explanations proffered by Jagland and Valle are particularly interesting given that Alfred Nobel stipulated that the peace prize should go to:

“. . . the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations and the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses.”

The key words being shall have done.

Well, if that’s true, they shot their wad on the wrong target. Because there is no chance the idiot is playing to win in Afghanistan.

What is far more likely to occur is the Israelis bombing the Iranian’s nukes. And to do that, they have to have at least tacit approval of the US.
