From the Las Vegas Sun:

CARSON CITY – Unemployment in Las Vegas increased to 14.3 percent in November with a decline in those working in construction and in hotel-casinos.

The 14.3 percent rate compares with 14.1 percent in October, but a state official says this shows a stabilizing rate and that the worst of the recession might be over.

The state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported today that Nevada’s unemployment rate in November rose to 14.3 percent, up 0.1 percent from October…

The department said the number of unemployed in the Las Vegas area rose to 137,000, an increase of 2,800 from October.

Construction employment in the Las Vegas area totaled 45,500, down from the 46,300 in October. The number of those working in hotel-casinos fell by 400 to a total of 152,300

“One thing is certain: Nevada’s share of employment in the industry is on the decline due to both expansion in other states and decline in Nevada,” Anderson said.

He said since 2006, employment in Nevada’s casino gaming sector has fallen from 216,886 to 188,020 in 2009.

We are tempted to say ‘you get what you vote for.’ But we can’t help but wonder how Harry Reid ever got re-elected, in the first place.

Does Nevada only allow illegal aliens and union thugs to vote? Apparently, the Voters Rights Act doesn’t cover Nevada.

Still, congratulations, Nevada! You now have six more years of Mr. Reid to enjoy.

“state official says this shows a stabilizing rate and that the worst of the recession might be over.”

This seems to be the mantra of the Ruling Class. Don’t worry your little heads, the worst is behind us….

Instead we get ever climbing unemployment rates. And now price increases on almost all household items. Guess this is the Hope and Change Nevada wanted.

With Harry Reid, they are in the forefront of where the Democrat party is taking America.

Maybe only Indians can work in the casinos now.
Wait til the Indians are the only employees at Reid’s world biggest gun ranch. Have they found Hoffa yet.

Imagine how bad unemployment would be if Harry Reid hadn’t been fighting for them all these years….Stockholm syndrome anyone? I can hear the average Nevada voter now as they vote for Reid–“At least he hasn’t threatened to have us all killed…”

Panhandling pit bosses, dusty men in red vests with their bowties all askew holding signs reading “will deal cards for food”, hookers offering discounts, empty seats at the Wayne Newton show…breaks your heart.

the worst of the recession might be over.
Might be over? I thought we had totally escaped the recession during “recovery summer”, and that our biggest worry was a double dip recession. I’m having trouble not laughing at the stupidity in the democratic party demonstrated by their total inability to keep their story straight.

    Typical dem Q&A
Q: So was there a recovery over the summer, or are we still in a recession?
A: Yes, and it’s George Bush’s fault for using the failed policies of the past.
Hopey Changey Hopity Changity blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda.
