Professor…I know you were referring to those in his district, but please realize that up here we’re not all like that.
I’m familiar with his district; it’s a couple of miles from where I grew up and they’re a bunch of childish whining annoying ***holes, believe me. And no, his constituents don’t want to keep him at a distance. If they could they’d clone him so that they could have one in Newton MA and one in D.C.
I’m retiring soon and I do want out of here! This is not the state I grew up in at all. We were thinking of either South Carolina or Arizona. I can’t wait.

Think positive

To the rest of the G8 I say, where are your black leaders, you all call us racists. If there is a silver lining in all this, i think i just found it. we Americans elected a black president ahead of all of you phony liberals. Unfortunatly he happens to be a socialist, but at least we have overcome the race barrier, and with a little luck we will survive it, and become a better nation for it. The black pride over this could have a very positive effect on the black community, their belief in America has been restored. Now all we need to do is get back to conservative basics. The corrupt MSM is collapsing and the Dems are bound to self distruct in the next 2 years, we will retake the Senate, and in 2 more years the presidency.

Didn’t you see Barney’s re-election ad? Its not his fault that Fannie and Freddie went under. Its Bill O’Reilly’s and Newt Gingrich’s fault. Those damn repubs! Always messing everything up and leaving poor Barney to clean it up! I think I’m gonna go wash myself now. Its gotten so deep.

The irony of course is that the Democrats haven’t come up with a new idea since the early 1960s. It’s always the same mix of pandering to specific groups and throwing money at everything else…. and quiet at it’s kept they are the ones who usually drum up wars that don’t need to exist (VIetnam, Kosovo) whereas Republicans always seem to go into wars and try to *end* them. If the Democrats could have prolonged the Soviet Union another 100 years, they would have, because they used the threat of Communism to justify all their far-reaching social programs like the War on Poverty. They like being in crisis, but never like winning, because then they lose their rationale for social planning.

From Nixon to Reagan to Bush to McCain to whatever’s next, Republicans evolve and change their minds. That’s why I don’t think this election is a total disaster. The right wing will reinvent itself and come back.

Not only comparing Obama to Lincoln which just makes me angry, but to say that FDR is even anywhere near the same level of statesmanship as Lincoln is horrible. For every battle with casualties during the civil war (which was of course all of them) Lincoln mourned the soldiers and genuinely felt the heavy burden of knowing that the cause he was fighting for would mean pain and sacrifice to everyone involved. He knew what was right though and stuck to it. You think Obama has anywhere near the empathy for what our troops have sacrificed or any willingness to see anything through? To compare him to Lincoln just because he is black (yes I know that I am racist because I mentioned his race although its perfectly fine for him to opine about it constantly) is ridiculous. He is black so he is automatically qualified to be recognized with a great statesman like Lincoln. He hasnt proved anything and the fact that I voted against him because I dont agree with his agenda ( and of course because I’m racist you know AP) has left me very skeptical that anything will really be taken care of in a rational way that benefits everyone not just him and the media.

So they are lulled into complacency. Not knowing that the enemy we face now is stealth, and has been on a holy mission (jihad) since Sept. 11, 1683 when the Muslim hoards were defeated at the gates of Vienna.

We “were” the last best hope for mankind. Now I fear that hope is gone although we have been sold the “hope” bill of goods. But the world, and especially Americans, are about to be disappointed. Obama is being hailed as the greatest thing since sliced bread, but what we are about to get is stale bread.

This is being hailed a “historic” transition. What the hell is so historic about it? Is the nation about to go to war with each other? Will there be soup lines and hobo camps that were filled with women and children? Are we going to have terrorist bombings become everyday occurences in our nation? Historic? Only if we judge this on one factor; race.

I have read the above comments and agree with most of them. Yes there 50 million+ of us that did not vote for Obama, so maybe we cancome up with a candidate that can win. I personnaly like Sarah myself. Hope she stays in the national scene.
