London Reels After 3 Nights Of Social Justice

From a very understanding (of the rioters) Reuters:

London reels from riots, Cameron pledges crackdown

By Matt Falloon
August 9, 2011

LONDON (Reuters) – British Prime Minister David Cameron said on Tuesday police will crack down hard to quell a wave of rioting and looting across London over the past three nights — the worst violence in the British capital in decades.

"This is criminality pure and simple and it has to be confronted and defeated," Cameron told reporters outside his Downing Street office after returning from a family holiday in Tuscany to deal with a crisis that has stunned Londoners…

Mr. Cameron does not seem to be exhibiting the proper amount of empathy here. These youths are just seeking social justice. After all, a father of four was gunned down in cold blood, simply for drawing a weapon and possibly shooting at the police.

Besides, everyone recognizes that these youths are desperate to work and make a better life for themselves. But thanks to the rampant racism in the UK they have been denied any chance at education or employment. Worse yet, the heartless British government does nothing to help to feed them or clothe them or house them or give them medical care.

Is it any wonder they are forced to find solace in alcohol and drugs and gambling and big screen TVs and having children?

Cameron said he would recall parliament from its summer recess on Thursday to make a statement on the unrest, which has also spread to other British cities.

Funny, how reluctant Reuters is to get into any details about exactly which cities.

Politicians and police firmly blamed the violence, in which shops were looted and cars and buildings set ablaze in several mostly poor areas of London — on criminals and hooligans.

But some commentators and local residents said its roots lay in tensions and anger over economic hardship in a city where the gap between the haves and have-nots is highly visible and the prospects for many youths are dim

Certainly the second position is the predominant view of the news media.

"We ain’t got no jobs, no money. We heard that other people were getting things for free, so why not us?" asked E.Nan, a young man in a baseball cap in Hackney, a multi-ethnic area in east London and one of the worst-hit areas…

"Last night was the worst the MPS (Metropolitan Police Service) has seen in current memory for unacceptable levels of widespread looting, fires and disorder," a police statement said on Tuesday.

What are ‘acceptable levels’ of looting?

Police arrested more than 200 people overnight and a total of 450 over the three nights. The statement also said 44 police officers were injured as well as 14 members of the public…

Some critics said [the police] were reluctant to go in hard for fear of upsetting local sensibilities

Say no more.

Tottenham includes areas with the highest unemployment rates in London. It also has a history of racial tension with local young people, especially blacks, resenting police behavior including the use of stop and search powers

We just knew that racism was at the bottom of this. What else could it be?

"It’s very sad to see. But kids have got no work, no future and the cuts have made it worse," said Hackney electrician Anthony Burns, 39. "You watch. It’s only just begun."

Yep. It’s lack of work and the draconian budget cuts that are causing all this. And, of course, racism.

The pantywaist mayor oughta strap on a pair & let London’s finest do their job. It’ll all be over in one night.

  2. BigOil says:

Of course, it can’t happen here. Except on a smaller scale in Philadelphia, Wisconsin, Chicago, Boston, Miami Beach…

Everybody not on the dole needs to be on guard once the freebies begin to be taken away.

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

It will never happen here. The media will see to that, regardless of what the facts are.

Headline of the year for Steve. His comments are great as well.

I see it all as a coming attraction of mid-November, 2012.

SG : “We just knew that racism was at the bottom of this. What else could it be?”

The riots began among blacks in immigrant-ethnic neighborhoods, but as they spread the riots have more lately taken on overtones of class warfare. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14458424

On the night of 6 Aug black mobs rioted in Tottenham, London following the 4 Aug police shooting of a local hoodlum in a gunfight. Eight police officers were hospitalized. Shops were looted and buildings, a bus, and police cars were set afire. Police and fire crews were attacked; a media news crew was also attacked. Over 100 arrests were made.

On the second night black youth gangs spread the riots into other immigrant parts of London (Brixton, Hackney, Walthamstow).

By the third day hooded and masked white radicals from the Continent had joined the enrichers in the fun, and the riots had spread south of the Thames to boroughs in Surrey (Peckham, Lewisham, Clapham Junction, Croydon, Woolwich, Deptford), as well as west to Ealing and north and east to Camden, Harrow, Waltham Abbey, Bethnal Green, Portabello Road, Notting Hill, Fulham, Islington, Enfield, Oxford Circus, and even Kensington. White commuters were attacked, beaten, and robbed, and tube stations had to be closed. Over 16,000 police were deployed, many called in from outlying areas, with 525 arrests for looting (mostly ipods, televisions, video games and consoles, and designer tennis shoes), violence, and arson, and ail the jail cells in London area were filled. Three more police were run over by a car driven by a rioter in Waltham Forest. One innocent white man was murdered by the rioters while he sat in his car, and many others have been wounded. As police lost control of the streets, local whites and Asians are fighting to protect their homes and shops.

Riots have also broken out in the immigrant-enriched cities of Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol, Nottingham, and Leeds. A police station in Birmingham was burned. Kings College Hospital in London and Birmingham Children’s Hospital were attacked. Jamie Oliver’s restaurants have been attacked. Many ancient landmark buildings have been destroyed. Parts of London resemble the bombings after the Blitz. Football matches have been postponed, and the 2012 London Olympics have been placed in jeopardy by the three nights of rioting.

Reuters : “the worst violence in the British capital in decades.”

This claim is true but it should be noted that the country has experienced race riots by black and Asian immigrants for forty years — 1981 (3 times), 1985 (2 times), 1995 (2 times), 1998, 2001, and 2005. In addition, there have been many riots in London by communist hooligans and agitators, most of whom trained in from Europe.

    Enoch Powell was right.

Liberals never learned THE 10th COMMANDMENT-(coveting) Exodus 20:17 “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant.

Course, honor your father & your mother was thrown out when Jagger declared “never trust anyone over thirty.”

Funny isn’t it? The Woodstock generation who clung to their SUV’s enshrined McMansions grew up to be more materialisticly greedy than their parents from the Greatest Generation. Ironic their kids are giving them back the poison they spilled on their mothers & fathers.

Wouldn’t want to crack a looter in the head, it just creates more looters. Liberal/Socialist world view to a tee.

  10. Rascal says:

I’m sorry folks, but what I believe we are seeing in the UK is a preview of what we will see in the US when Obama and all the democrats are put out in November of 2012. Watch for the liberals (and those who they consider to be more middle of the road) to use this as a warning that if we don’t give Obama another chance this is what we will face. It’s just another way to use the race card since they’ve already warn that one a bit thin.

Gee…it’s a good thing arms were confiscated from the British public a while back. Think of the number of leftist voters who might have been lost!

    • Chase says:

Most of these rioters were probably not (yet) Leftists – too young and stupid and placated with their lot to ever get off their duff and out of their council house to vote. But you can bet the Leftists were running the show, from their Blackbarrys, social networks, and neighborhood pubs, getting the word out, monitoring the police, and sending the yobs where the next target of opporunity lay, and sending out inciting messages to cities North.

Like to see how many families of these violent cretins are eventually tossed out of their gov’t provided council homes…

Little Lenin must be rubbing his hands in glee.

Who knew that chaos would break out in other countries besides the United States. What a thrill it must be for him to see his mates in the trenches of London move the world one step close to his dream. In Obamy’s mind he must be saying: “heh, Alinsky was a pessimist”.

    • tranquil.night says:

Why organize an effort to control the message of change within the context of the system, when you can instantly network to tear what’s left of it down?

The Class Warrior Anarchist’s weapons arsenal has certainly grown since the 70s. Of course as we see in Britain, the malcontents therein embolden the Class Warrior Statists to manipulate events to their political ends.

  13. xdannyh says:

Where are the Nato bombs, why aren’t they falling on Whitehall (is that where government resides) after all the un-entitled citizens of the UK deserve the same considerations as the down trodden in Egypt, Libya, and Syria as they rise up against oppressive and uncaring governments. And please let’s not call them looters, flashmobs, thieves, or troublemakers they are “insurgents”.

  14. tranquil.night says:

So what about all that violent rhetoric we always here towards the rich again while simultaneously being lectured about The New Tone?

Cause like Sarah Palin totally inspired Jared Loner, and everybody in the Tea Party inspired nuthead in Norway.
