This list does not jive with my memory at all. My recollection is that since 1992, the Republicans have been red in every election. I have carefully watched all National Media coverage of these elections, and in every case, the Republican was always RED.

1992 was the year that the Media pulled out all the stops to get Bill Clinton elected.

In any case, the Communists\Nazis have always used the color RED and as they have always produced massive bloodshed, it is the appropriate color for them.

When I was in a public school kindergarten in the mid 60′s, the teacher informed the class that the red stripes in the US Flag represented the “social concern” of the people. This is not a joke. This alarmed my parents to the extent that I (and siblings) were sent to Catholic schools.

Logicrat (above) shows us mercy in listing only 10 examples of the lies in the language. Who controls the language (and symbolism) frames the debate. Who frames the debate wins the argument.

It is for this reason that I think it important that people who love freedom find it in themselves to rally around single phrases that describe our views, even if they are not perfect (or even technically correct). This is what the left does: “Bush lied, people died” “The House Un-American Committee”, ad nauseum. Limbaugh puts together audio ‘montages’ of the MSM ‘spontaneously’ erupting with identical phrasing to decribe events, issues and people. I find it hard to ascribe this to accident.

BannedbytheTaliban recognizes an important point of symbolism, pre-existing cultural symbols can be exploited. The fact that red represents good luck and prosperity in East Asian cultures was not lost on Mao or Ho Chi Min.

Using such phrases when calling radio talk shows or in conversation will to a greater or lesser degree result in them being adapted.

I would like to nominate “Obamanation” (describing the soon-to-be administration) for a trial run. I first saw it used in this manner by wardmamma4

Apart from the distateful association of Red being equated with communism, I perfer the color red. Lets explore the greatness of the color red as I see it, many of you may not agree, but here it goes (red>blue)

Marine Corps > Air Force
Coke > Pepsi
Chevy > Ford (yeah Chevy is more orange, but close)
NC State > UNC-CH (which for those familiar is really Repbulican > Democrat)
Redneck > Blue blood

Of course Red is also the color of winners, alsa, not this election though:

I actually think that it was probably less sinister than that. After 2000, with the polularization of the “Red State/Blue State divide,” I think the media just didn’t want to lose that narrative.

censorship = “fairness doctrine”

We live in a country that profits from being so divided, that to change colors would mean a lot of political T-shirts and bumper stickers would be rendered useless…or at the very least, necessitate the production of new materials. Actually, you know what? I bet that fits under job creation. Never mind, let’s switch colors every year.

It looks to me as though the powers that be already had the 2008 election planned back in 04. I mean the Republicans did nominate a totally inept candidate that as far as I can see had no intentions of winning. McCain was out of money and out of the running and then he magically makes a comeback? Heck I would even say they had this planned years or even decades ago.

So someone somewhere (probably a liberal msm type) created this little ditty (for what purpose – oh yeah to pidgon hole Americans into little definable labeled boxes) – yet come to 2008 (when oh btw The One ™ became the candidate for the masses) someone, somewhere violated their established pattern – why? Perhaps because the stupid masses would have become confused if it had changed and would not have voted for The One ™. . .

Just another label slapped upon America by a group of people who think that are better than everyone else who is not them.

They don’t want us calling them “Reds”.

My understanding is that it was NBC News sometime in the 90s which realized it would be uncomfortable is American’s came to identify our left wing party with the color red.

The leftist party is red in every country in the world — accept America.
