Magic Johnson Is Pitching Obama-Care In Ad

From the Palm Beach, FL news site, the Bizpac Review:

Magic Johnson, latest WH pitchman for Obamacare, told to get real

By Cheryl Carpenter Klimek | January 16, 2014

The Obama administration has called in another big-name celebrity to encourage the younger generation to sign up for Obamacare. The latest to lend his name to the movement is NBA Hall of Fame superstar Magic Johnson.

“No matter how old you are or what your profession is, an injury or illness could happen to anyone at any time,” the White House website says. “Watch Magic Johnson talk about what having quality health care has meant to him — then pass it on.”

Good health care saved Johnson’s life after he was diagnosed with HIV in 1991, the basketball legend says in the video.

So Johnson’s life was saved by the same US healthcare system that Obama now says was so terribly defective it had to be turned upside down?

“So I’m glad that I had good health insurance, a good plan,” he says.

There aren’t any Obama-Care plans that would compare with the Cadillac plan the NBA gave Magic Johnson. In fact, such plans will probably be soon illegal or unaffordable under Obama-Care.

“And also, too, you never know when you’re going to need it. It’s very important. Young people, they think they’re Superman, like nothing’s ever gonna happen to them.”

The reactions to Johnson’s ads on Twitter have been largely negative. Here are a couple, via Twitchy:

Ted Henderson: "You must be one of the few who can afford [Obama-Care] now."

Benjamin C. Winslett: "I had good care. Obamacare killed my plan. Now kids are on Medicaid. Bummer."

Douglas Hinebaugh: "You guys are pathetic. You KNOW you’re not participating in Obamacare but you’re promoting it? How fake can you be?"

"Fake" is a polite way of putting it.

AIDS. You got the AIDS, hoss. You wouldn’t have AIDs if you had actual ‘good judgement’ and kept it in your pants, but nooo .. you have the AIDs and then lecture us who are responsible adults ..

“Johnson is a supporter of the Democratic Party—in 2006, he publicly endorsed Phil Angelides for governor of California, and in 2007 he supported Hillary Clinton for president of the United States. In 2010 Johnson endorsed Barbara Boxer in her race for re-election. In 2012, Johnson endorsed Barack Obama for President. He endorsed and appeared in campaign ads for unsuccessful Los Angeles mayoral candidate Wendy Greuel in 2013.
In 2003, Johnson met with Nancy Pelosi to discuss federal assistance for those with AIDSAfter announcing his infection in November 1991, Johnson created the Magic Johnson Foundation to help combat HIV, although he later diversified the foundation to include other charitable goals. In 1992, he joined the National Commission on AIDS, a committee appointed by members of Congress and the Bush Administration. Johnson left after eight months, saying that the White House had “utterly ignored” the work of the panel, and had opposed the commission’s recommendations, which included universal healthcare and the expansion of Medicaid to cover all low-income people with AIDS. He was also the main speaker for the United Nations (UN) World AIDS Day Conference in 1999, and has served as a United Nations Messenger of Peace.
HIV had been associated with drug addicts and homosexuals, but Johnson’s campaigns sought to show that the risk of infection was not limited to those groups. Johnson stated that his aim was to “help educate all people about what [HIV] is about” and teach others not to “discriminate against people who have HIV and AIDS”. Johnson was later criticized by the AIDS community for his decreased involvement in publicizing the spread of the disease.
To prevent his HIV infection from progressing to AIDS, Johnson takes a daily combination of drugs. He has advertised GlaxoSmithKline’s drugs, and partnered with Abbott Laboratories to publicize the fight against AIDS in African American communities.”

      Capstubby, Interesting,

“Johnson was later criticized by the AIDS community for his decreased involvement in publicizing the spread of the disease.”

A lot of pressure for Magic Johnson to define himself as AIDS. He most likely had to publicly announce it in order for other “various partners” to get tested.

The irony in Obama in ordering the US Military not to use any “gay words”, but then announce to the Muslim overtaking of the world that Gays in the Military could marry fostering the Muslim condemnation of Western Education in such as in Africa leading to burning down schools

And now the common sense of knowing what will follow the US’s embracing people who define themselves as gay will lead to more homosexuality experimenting by youth and the old since abnormal sex has been glorified and made so stylish and popular without warning of possibilities of AIDS spreading in the US without any common sense warning our youth may think there is a cure for AIDS.

Bizarre is the US giving a fortune for decades and trying to get Africa to change their sexual conduct and sexual acts to reel in their AIDs epidemic and then Africa finally makes desperate changes.

Just in the news is Iran cracking down on gays and more and more African countries cracking down on it.

AP: New Nigeria anti-gay law resulting in torture and dozens of arrests, say activists

Jan 14, 2014 By Michelle Faul
      LAGOS, Nigeria –

The men’s alleged crime? Belonging to a gay organization.
The punishment? Up to 10 years in jail under the Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act, which has elicited international condemnation for criminalizing gay marriage, gay organizations and anyone working with or promoting them.

Nevertheless, the aggressive police action shows that Africa’s most populous country is attempting to enforce anti-gay measures that are becoming increasingly common throughout the continent.

In this instance, authorities responded to an unfounded rumour[sic] that the United States had paid gay activists $20 million to promote same-sex marriage in this highly religious and conservative nation, according to an AIDS counsellor[sic], who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear that he would be arrested.

The police have now arrested 38 men and are looking for 168 others, according to Aken’Ova, whose organization is helping provide legal services to the men. The AIDS counsellor said he has helped secure bail for some of the 38 detainees. They both said dozens of homosexuals have fled Bauchi in recent days.

Chairman Mustapha Baba Ilela of Bauchi state Shariah Commission, which oversees regulation of Islamic law, said that 11 gay men have been arrested over the past two weeks. He said community members helped “fish out” the suspects and that “we are on the hunt for others.”

Bauchi state has both a Western-style penal code and Shariah, or Islamic law, which is implemented to different degrees in nine of Nigeria’s 36 states. About half of the country’s more than 175 million people are Muslims, the other half Christians.

Olumide Makanjuola said lawyers for his Initiative For Equality in Nigeria are backing lawsuits of several homosexuals arrested by police without cause. He said police regularly and illegally inspect the cellphones of gay suspects, then send text messages to lure others.

The new law was passed by the Nigerian Parliament last year but not signed by the president, Goodluck Jonathan, until last week — when he did so quietly and without fanfare.

The United States, Britain and Canada condemned the new law, with Secretary of State John Kerry saying Monday that it “dangerously restricts freedom” of expression and association of all Nigerians.

While harsh, Nigeria’s law is not as draconian as a bill passed last month by legislators in Uganda that is awaiting President Yoweri Museveni’s signature.

It provides penalties including life imprisonment for “aggravated” homosexual sex. Initially, legislators had been demanding the death sentence for gays.

The U.N. agency fighting AIDS and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria expressed “deep concern that access to HIV services for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people will be severely affected” and that the law could harm Jonathan’s own presidential initiative to fight AIDS, started a year ago.

It said Nigeria has the second-largest HIV epidemic globally with an estimated 3.4 million people living with the virus.

Many have asked why such a law is needed in a country where sodomy already was outlawed, and could get you killed under Shariah. Ilela said sodomy carries the death sentence in Bauchi state, with a judge deciding whether it should be done by a public stoning or by lethal injection.

No gay person has been subjected to such punishment.

“In this instance, authorities responded to an unfounded rumour[sic] that the United States had paid gay activists $20 million to promote same-sex marriage in this highly religious and conservative nation, according to an AIDS counsellor[sic], who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear that he would be arrested…]

Maybe Obama’s former Reverend Write spread the rumor since he’s angry at Obama the droner.
