Man Charged With Assault After ‘Cheese Rage’

From the Smoking Gun:

Charges Filed In Cheeseburger Rage Incident

McDonald’s patron became irate over his botched drive-thru order

December 19, 2012

DECEMBER 19–A Pennsylvania man has been charged with assault and disorderly conduct for his alleged rampage last month at McDonald’s, a meltdown reportedly triggered when his drive-thru order contained a hamburger with an unwanted piece of cheese.

Sean Varone, 35, was named in a District Court criminal complaint filed yesterday in York County, Pennsylvania.

The only surprise is that this didn’t happen in Florida, but in the heart of Amish country.

According to cops, Varone became irate on November 30 after he “found his sandwich had cheese on it which was not what he ordered.” After he was provided a second hamburger–which also had cheese–Varone parked his vehicle and entered the McDonald’s.

Inside the restaurant, Varone allegedly began yelling at workers (one of whom he called a “fucking bitch”) and demanded a refund. After getting his money back, Varone knocked over a trash can and “picked up a children’s high chair, hoisted it above his head and threw it towards another dining table” in the crowded restaurant.

As Varone departed the eatery, McDonald’s manager Kathy Vazquez followed him out to the parking lot in an attempt to copy down his license plate number. When Varone realized he was being tailed, he allegedly grabbed Vazquez, placed her in a headlock, and grabbed a cordless phone from her hand and smashed it on the ground.

When a second McDonald’s worker confronted him, Varone reportedly warned that he would fight the employee if he tried to stop him from leaving the parking lot.

Vazquez suffered a sprained knee and a fractured tibia during the scuffle with Varone, according to a medical diagnosis provided to a Springettsbury Township Police Department officer.

In addition to the two misdemeanor charges, Varone was also cited for criminal mischief for damaging the $50 cordless phone belonging to McDonald’s. A preliminary hearing date has yet to be scheduled for Varone.

This story presents a conundrum. What should we ban? Drive thru’s or junk food? Or maybe just cheese?

Did the attacker get a 32 oz. soda?

That was worth it wasn’t it? Again, NO GUN or taser was used on this guy? McDonald’s FREAK OUTS and BEAT DOWNS occur more often than school shootings, you would think they would catch on by now.

What is with all these people using phones to help stop violence? By the time they get the lazy dispatcher to forward the message to the lazy union police, it’s already too late. Stop relying on centralize authority to solve all your problems.

Well, Obama got mad at the Mexican that worked on his car for not speaking English and they took jobs away from Blacks. His staff kept on him to cool it and he needed the Mexican’s vote.
Then he decided American children should learn Spanish.

Personally I think learning the child that learns Chinese or Muslim will profit more.

My bad. I assumed the McDonald’s is like ours where some of the workers at the window can’t
communicate or count change well. Getting the order wrong twice?

Oh, I get it. The customer didn’t know English and so they were easy on him.

McDonald’s will probably fire the workers for getting injured on the job and endangering themselves over a lousy cheeseburger.

Remember Walmart fired that worker for stopping some thug in the parking lot. Strict policy.
