Manning Wants Taxpayers To Pay For Sex Change

From the New York Post:

WikiLeaker Bradley Manning wants to live as a woman named Chelsea

By ANDY SOLTIS | August 23, 2013

We’re not paying for your sex change, the Army told Bradley Manning after the convicted WikiLeaker announced yesterday he wants to live as a woman named Chelsea. “As I transition into this next phase of my life, I want everyone to know the real me. I am Chelsea Manning. I am female,” the dishonorably discharged private said in a statement released by his lawyer.

Manning dropped the bombshell one day after being sentenced to 35 years in prison for leaking 700,000 classified documents.

Who wouldn’t rather be in a women’s prison than a prison for men? In fact, this is almost certainly why Manning went from being a proud homosexual to suddenly claiming he had a ‘gender disorder’ at the time of his sentencing.

Though, we have to admit, re-naming himself Chelsea was a nice touch. It shows he is a good liberal at heart. (As if betraying his country wasn’t enough.)

“Given the way that I feel and have felt since childhood, I want to begin hormone therapy as soon as possible,” said Manning, who now prefers to be addressed as “she.” His attorney said Manning may also seek sex-reassignment surgery.

The Army quickly replied that it offers inmates access to mental-health professionals, including psychiatrists, and even complied with Manning’s preference for a female pronoun. But, a spokesman added, “There is no mechanism in place for the US military to provide hormone therapy or gender-reassignment surgery for her…

Maybe for now But the left will use Manning’s case to strike down that evil civil rights violation, PDQ. In fact, they have already started. (See the article from NBC News below.)

Officials did not say whether Manning would be allowed therapy or surgery paid for by someone else. Hormone replacement can run from $50 to hundreds of dollars a month. Sex-reassignment surgery can cost from $7,000 to upwards of $100,000…

Don’t worry. The US taxpayers will foot the bill. As always.

And here it begins, from NBC News:

For transgender prisoners, hormones seen as matter of  life and death

By Bill Briggs | August 23, 2013

Self-castration, suicide and waves of desperation are byproducts of the denial of sex hormones to inmates yearning to switch genders, advocates say.

But outside the walls, debate has been stirred on whether the prison system is the right place to help chemically escort a man to womanhood, or vice versa, and critics question if any taxpayer money should pay for the hormones used to help inmates undergo sex changes.

What troglodytes would refuse to pay for such a basic human right?

Thursday’s revelation that convicted secret leaker Bradley Manning wants to live as a woman and begin hormone therapy ignited talk about what happens when prison doctors refuse hormones to inmates with gender identity disorder (GID)… The Army does not provide hormone therapy to such prisoners…

That is until now. But our news media guardians will lead the charge to strike down this outmoded and dangerous policy.

Already battling a deep disconnect with self-identity, then suddenly being removed from the medications meant to alter their genders, some inmates literally attack the issue in the bloodiest ways, lopping off their sex organs. About 30 such self-mutilations have been documented in U.S. prisons, said Dr. Lori Kohler, a staff physician for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and a national expert on medical management of transgender prisoners.

In California, Kohler has helped oversee hormone meds for about 400 inmates (out of a total population of 150,000). The vast majority of those 400 were born as males and want to become females, taking estrogen and growing female curves while housed in men’s prisons…

In other words, NBC is citing an advocate as their expert.

Transgender groups consider denying hormones in cases like Manning’s "cruel and unusual punishment" and argue that hormone treatment for gender identity disorder is standard medicine and should be allowed in military prisons as in federal prisons. Manning’s request may be the first time this has come up for a military prisoner…

And it will be used to promote yet another new ‘civil right.’

  1. I’m guessing he’ll get used as a woman while in a Military Prison until he rethinks this notion ….

you would not believe the hoops the prison officials must jump through whenever dealing with a gid. thank the 9th circus.

    • I’m getting quite the education today. Between searching the term “bix noods” I saw in another comment and now “gid”, I’m learning all the sly cultural colloquialisms.

      You people crack me up……

    • Gid? What the … (google google) … are you kidding me?

C’mon, Jesus … throw the rock already …. Columba Bush

Gender Identity Disorder – in prisons and jails all over the country officials are forcing themselves through ridiculous contortions to try to avoid law suits. many try to place them in protective custody, risking suit because the PCs are generally isolated and only allowed out of their cell 2-3 hrs./ day. extra psych staff required and special training on medical treatment staff. many just give them the tranny meds in order to avoid litigation. legally that increases difficulty for other agencies who don’t. separate bathroom or shower areas (or time frames if room not available). for transexers some have policies that require 2 officers, 1 male and 1 female to do clothed &/or unclothed body searches on the separate relative parts of the gid’s body. mind you during unclothed search, this requires one officer to search their related portion of the body, then leave the room so the other can come in and finish the search on the other parts. no chance of smuggling contraband there. plus numerous other difficulties that arise when the gid occasionally changes their preference of orientation.
      literally – I feel like a boy today, so……

all of this in order to avoid damaging the fragile psyche of the “victim” of this disorder. let’s face it; these guys (and they’re always male) already have a psychological disorder and are VERY prone to self destructive behavior. that’s the central element involved – self destruction.
lots of litigation involved with a suicide, so the brass convolute their own policies to avoid possibility.

and the Ambulance Chasers Litigation Unit rejoices.
