McCain Campaign Lists Joe Biden’s 14 Lies

From the McCain/Palin campaign’s website:

Joe Biden’s 14 Lies

1. TAX VOTE: Biden said McCain voted “the exact same way” as Obama to increase taxes on Americans earning just $42,000, but McCain DID NOT VOTE THAT WAY.

2. AHMEDINIJAD MEETING: Joe Biden lied when he said that Barack Obama never said that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran. Barack Obama did say specifically, and Joe Biden attacked him for it.

3. OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING: Biden said, “Drill we must.” But Biden has opposed offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to “raping” the Outer Continental Shelf.”

4. TROOP FUNDING: Joe Biden lied when he indicated that John McCain and Barack Obama voted the same way against funding the troops in the field. John McCain opposed a bill that included a timeline, that the President of the United States had already said he would veto regardless of it’s passage.

5. OPPOSING CLEAN COAL: Biden says he’s always been for clean coal, but he just told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate.

6. ALERNATIVE ENERGY VOTES: According to FactCheck.org, Biden is exaggerating and overstating John McCain’s record voting for alternative energy when he says he voted against it 23 times.

7. HEALTH INSURANCE: Biden falsely said McCain will raise taxes on people’s health insurance coverage — they get a tax credit to offset any tax hike. Independent fact checkers have confirmed this attack is false

8. OIL TAXES: Biden falsely said Palin supported a windfall profits tax in Alaska — she reformed the state tax and revenue system, it’s not a windfall profits tax.

9. AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan, but the commander of NATO’s International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D. McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.

10. REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation — he actually called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.

11. IRAQ: When Joe Biden lied when he said that John McCain was “dead wrong on Iraq”, because Joe Biden shared the same vote to authorize the war and differed on the surge strategy where they John McCain has been proven right.

12. TAX INCREASES: Biden said Americans earning less than $250,000 wouldn’t see higher taxes, but the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise taxes on individuals making $200,000 or more.

13. BAILOUT: Biden said the economic rescue legislation matches the four principles that Obama laid out, but in reality it doesn’t meet two of the four principles that Obama outlined on Sept. 19, which were that it include an emergency economic stimulus package, and that it be part of “part of a globally coordinated effort with our partners in the G-20.”

14. REAGAN TAX RATES: Biden is wrong in saying that under Obama, Americans won’t pay any more in taxes then they did under Reagan.

In typical McCain fashion, this list if generous to a fault.

There were many more lies and factual errors than this. But it is a start.

Please feel free to suggest your own.

More on #2 – Not only did Biden lie about saying Obama would not sit down and talk with Iran without preconditions . . . Biden was on the Democratic debate stage himself when Obama said this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3Oj7Jn9rv4 AND at the very same time Biden was lying about this promise to meet with Iran without preconditions . . . this Obama policy was in fact still on Obama’s web site! http://www.freerepublic.com/fo.....6280/posts

More on #5 – Biden Lied on Clean Coal as well: Biden: “We’re not supporting ‘clean coal.’ Guess what. China’s building two every week. Two dirty coal plants. And it’s polluting the United States. It’s causing people to die. … China is burning three hundred years of bad coal unless we figure out how to clean their coal up. Because it’s going to ruin your lungs and there’s nothing we can do about it. No coal plants here in America. Build them, if they’re going to build them over there make ‘em clean because they’re killing you.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJ55UzAsp6M

BUT I was waiting for Palin to hit Biden with this little piece of history on energy that came out of Ann Coulter’s last article http://townhall.com/columnists....._insurance that back in 1973 Biden was 1 of only 5 senators that voted against the Alaska pipeline!

Also watch this smack down of O’Reilley on Massachusetts congressman Barney Frank last night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAuOEdttjZQ

And former Clinton campaign manager Dick Morris shutting up Alan Colmes after the debate last night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgEf1FJBuEo

Last night it was a night where liberals got their lunch handed to them!

Now is the time to apply the “shock and awe” to Obama, Biden, and the rest of the KoolAid drinkers! Don’t let up!

It is time for McCain to instead of “reaching across the asile with a hand shake” and “reach across the asile with a haymaker”!

Well this is sorta trivial but he mentioned visiting a resturant in his neighborhood named “Katies”

Problem is , Katies has been out of business for over 15 years.

And yes clifcrds, time to take the gloves off.

I think the biggest whopper that Biden told was when he stated that back in 2006 Obama warned about Fan/Fred but the GOP was asleep at the switch, or something to that effect. Biden actually insinuated that Obama was advocating more regulation of Fan/Fred but I think when they say regulation what he really means is he didn’t want mortgage lenders to foreclose on delinquent mortgage holders. No deadbeats in Obamaworld, just victims of greedy bankers. Poor man’s need of a white man’s greed. Or some such rot.

I dare say there’s a big distinction between the type of regulation McCain was proposing (limiting Mortgage Backed Securities offered by Fan/Fred, at the core of the current fin’l meltdown, & what Obama was requesting.)

This needs more delving into. That’s putting it mildly.

Yeah 1st, that’s my favorite lie:

RESTAURANT: “Look, all you have to do is go down Union Street with me in Wilmington or go to Katie’s Restaurant or walk into Home Depot with me where I spend a lot of time and you ask anybody in there whether or not the economic and foreign policy of this administration has made them better off in the last eight years.”

According to this Delaware site, Katie’s Restaurant is no longer in business; locals remember it on Union Street 25 to 30 years ago.

Maybe “say it ain’t so, Joe” still goes there for coffee every now and then. (But, who is he having conversations with?) LOL

NRO has found more , claims the lie count is up to about 22 now.

clifcrds and 1st, I third the motion, it IS time to take off the gloves! What is he waiting for? Sigh. (This is getting almost unbearable to watch anymore.)
