Alfr3rd: where to start?

First, socialism is not a political philosophy, but an economic philosophy incorporated into the conduct of politics. I have never called BHO a commie, but he desires socialistic goals, the least of which is the redistribution of wealth. Lastly, as has been noted before, no one here gives a rat’s ass about his voting record vis-à-vis the ‘global scale’. In the US of A, BHO is a far left liberal.

Alfr3rd – I, too, am at a loss for how someone can have such a distorted knowledge of political philosophy. You scream, “Oh my GOD! SOCIALISM!! THE SKY IS FALLING!!!” as if that would be no bad thing. How many times does the world have to suffer the ideals of Marx, Engels and Lenin before you Leftist morons realize they’re just plain WRONG?

Also, Obama doesn’t have much of a voting record, so you can hardly use it to support your argument. And as for his standing “on a global scale” – WTF? You mean, compared to rest of the socialist world? That’s a distinction without a difference – like saying Stalin was further to the right than Mao.

BTW – I take it by “obnoxiously McCarthyist” you mean “uncomfortably accurate”.

Do any of you even know what socialism is? (No, you don’t. If you think you do, define it yourself, look it up, and marvel at how wrong you are.)

He wouldn’t even be left enough to be in the UK’s left party, much less Sweden’s. At this point, calling him “communist” is obnoxiously McCarthyist.

However, if government intervention on money is “socialist” then most of you will be pleased to know that McCain voted for the bailout, and Bush is heading towards nationalizing our banks. Hugo Chavez even called Bush “Comrade Bush”.

It’s another case of the approach. McCain should have picked a few countries the general public would not want to be compared to and note where Obama’s policies are similar. Ideal would be any quotes from unpopular socialists that would sound similar to Obama.
