Should Russia rearm? Well, given the historically aggressive behavior of the US, who can blame them? It was perfectly predictable after the US announced plans for a “missile defense” system in Poland, that Russia would feel threatened. No one with a brain could fail to grasp that the US system could be used offensively against Russia. I thought they should suggest a similar installation in Cuba, which of course the US would consider practically an act of war, clearly exposing American hypocrisy!

The biggest threat to world peace will always be from America. It’s bombed over 50 countries since WWII. I think rearming Russia should bring more stability from the U.S. global oppression.

When Biden predicted before the election that BO would be “tested” and we probably would think he was getting it wrong – I’ll admit I didn’t think at the time it would be the Russians leading off.

They used to think Americans were stupid. We’ve removed all doubt.

The Russians are going to pull a Reagan on us!

* They know we’re broke.
* They know the anti-military left holds Washington.
* They know the liberal voting base wants to cripple the military, and that arms buildups will be unpopular with Obama voters.
* They know that Obama’s continued popularity and hold on power can be shaken, meaning Obama can be scared.

So they’re going to outspend us on armaments!

– If Obama doesn’t match their efforts, we lose military preeminence. Obama gets blamed. Russia moves forward — militarily better off than the weakened American president.

– If he does match their efforts, his own power base goes nuts, and his party falls into chaos. Russia moves forward — militarily no worse off than they are now, against a weakened American president.

What is also omitted is Russia sells everything to everyone – so the fact their crap is “outdated” is 2 fold: 1) Cold War killed their military machine, whereas the tech advantages leaned American – due to massive Russian failure (remember when they couldnt even pay their Navy at all a few years ago) AND they depleated any advancement through the sale of parts, Mir’s, T-90/78 tanks etc. – therefore broke the “tech advancement” chain of development.

My dad served on the USS Angler sub in both the Bay of Pigs and Cuban Missle Crisis – he said it is eerie how similiar the tone and actions are. Oddly enough – he felt the same about JFK as he does Bambi… coincidence?

Good to see Bambi and Hillary are all over this one.

Our country has caused so much pain and suffering in the world with our military dominance, it’s only proper that the scales be balanced.

Certainly the world will be a safer place because of it.
