Men And Women Have Different Personalities!

From the UK’s Telegraph:

Men and women have distinct personalities

Previous research has claimed that that average personality differences between men and women are small

A new analysis of a survey of 10,000 people found that each sex has firmly entrenched characteristics, with women showing more sensitivity, warmth and apprehension than men.

In contrast, emotional stability, dominance, rule-consciousness and vigilance are more typically male characteristics, experts said.

Who knew?

Previous research has claimed that that average personality differences between men and women are small.

But the new analysis published in the Public Library of Science One journal revealed that each sex shares a distinct set of characteristics, with just 18 per cent of men having a typically "female" set of traits or vice versa.

Past studies have shown that men and women average similar scores on the 16PF5 – a well-known and frequently used measure of personality.

But by estimating the average difference in men’s and women’s scores on each of the test’s 15 different measures of personality, and comparing them against one another, researchers found that in fact the sexes shared less ground than previously thought.

The study showed that because men scored higher in some areas and women in others the differences between the sexes cancelled each other out when viewed as a simple average, but made for a significant gulf when added together.

The new paper "clearly rejects the idea that there are only minor differences between the personalities of men and women," researchers said.

The study could explain why certain professions, such as engineering, are dominated by a particular sex in spite of efforts by governments to promote equality, Dr Paul Irwing, of Manchester Business School, who co-authored the paper, said.

He added: "You find far fewer women in engineering and it is normally contended that you cannot explain this in individual differences, but that is on the assumption they are small and our study shows they are huge.

"People are self-selecting into careers that fit their personality characteristics – it is the complete opposite of what people have assumed for the past 100 years."

Dr Marco Del Giudice, who led the study, said: "Sex differences in personality are believed to be comparatively small. However, research in this area has suffered from significant methodological limitations.

"The idea that there are only minor differences between the personality profiles of males and females should be rejected as based on inadequate methodology."

Prof Janet Hyde of the University of Wisconsin – Madison, who proposed the theory that men and women have largely similar characteristics, said the method used by the researchers led to "uninterpretable" results.

She said: "The scientific evidence still shows that, contrary to stereotypes, men and women are quite similar on a wide array of psychological qualities."

Hilarious.

So therefore, Obama is a woman.

Let’s face it men, arguing with the women in your life is fruitless. Fact is, you’re out numbered. Fact is women can think with both sides of their brain at the same time. Sadly, puberty fried the parts of us mens’ brain separating the two.

So, just when you think you’re winning the argument, WHAM, the other side kicks in and blind sides you. Sound familiar?

The secret? Women can’t resist a humbled soul especially when he comes in with flowers. Works for me and the Mrs.

Wow. Entrenched psychological differences between the sexes. Next thing you know, they’ll be testing for race differences in psychology, intelligence, temperament, and motivation.

Who knows where such dangerous inquiries might lead?

IMHO, heres the difference in a nutshell. I go out to “our” garage and see hundreds of items to tinker with or repair.
My lovely wife sees hundreds of items to be cleared out and hauled away. Who knew garages were built to park cars in? Now that my freinds, is gender studies 101. Just a consensus of one (me), and no Ph.D.

When a nephew was two, his older brother was into Pokemon’s (whatever that was or is). His parents were both physical therapists. His daddy couldn’t change his own oil.

The boy wouldn’t play with anything except toy trucks. Now he’s expanded his horizons and is fascinated with guns as well.

I predicted to ms reason a few years back that he would become a marine (even though that side of the family has no military tradition). We’ll know in a few years. I wish there was an intrade category for him.

And this is a revelation to…….who? Scientists? Well, imagine that! They’ve tumbled to something every sixth grader figures out for him/herself along about age twelve. And, without a government grant, too.

As for me, the only affirmation I need can be found in the most popular book ever written.

“Now, therefore, God made them both male and female and……”

      Pretty simple.

This is just “Nature vs. Nurture” liberal social propagandizing once again.

GOAL 1: Men and women are equal at every level…period. Differences are only culturally based. You can’t demand equal rights / equal pay unless people believe men and women are 100% equal in every way.

GOAL 2: People are “born that way.” Homosexuality is not a choice. We are all the same really, man….woman…..gay…..straight. This is why liberals LOVE to portray wimpy sensitive girly-men like Harry Smith, and garbage-mouthed he-men like Rosie O’donnell, or Rosanne Barr.

GOAL 3: Debunking the book “THE BELL CURVE.” In which the authors had the gaul to even ponder if there was a genetic component to racial differences related to intelligence. So liberals have been on a mission to stamp out ANY genetic differences, lest somebody comes to a conclusion they don’t approve of.

Makes me think of Nicholson’s line from The movie As Good As It Gets.

When asked how he wrote women so well…I think of a man and then remove all reason and accountability.

    Time to duck…
