Steve, may the blessings of this Season grace you and yours ten fold for being at least one voice in the wilderness crying out. And for giving us a place to cry with you.

May I remind everyone here that in the darkest days of Judea, a son was born unto Mary and Joseph except he wasn’t born in Nazareth as we know Him today. He was born in Bethlehem. Because …. Almighty God caused Caesar Augustus to issue a census decree that set in motion Joseph, accompanied by the nearly at-term Mary, to reluctantly remove himself and his pregnant wife to Bethlehem. Thus fulfilling a thousand and a half years of His Prophetic Word to come to pass.

Look to the dark lords of Washington.

Cannot God allow them to be the architects of their own destruction? To allow them to destroy themselves?

The answer, historically, is yes. And we stand today on a moment as potentially dark as that day in Judea. When eternal Light was set free among us by the hand of the ruler of this world. The one who insisted upon worship as a god, was the instrument that aided God to be made flesh among us.

If in your heart you’ll make
    A manger for his birth
    God will once again
Be born a child on earth.

    Merry Christmas, all!

I’m honored to be among you.

Well, we’ve endured another year and better prospects lie ahead in the coming year. Merry Christ-mas and Happy Holy-days to all.

And a Merry Christmas to ya’ll. I am deeply grateful to have this site to come to when my senses get rocked again by what has been done in DC. It is almost a daily occurencwe now – what with that ignorant treay ratification. The rinos will learn soon. God Bless each and every one of you.

  4. DW says:

Wishing all the best to the membership here on this special evening.
Some of us have been solving the world’s problems here for …what?… four and a half years now? Good friendships have been cemented here. May that continue always.

And, of course, a heartfelt prayer for all our service men and women who are spending tonight in a foreign land. God bless and Godspeed.

    SJ: Moose boy!?!?!
    We need to talk…
(but Merry Christmas all the same, my friend)

First edit: Why are all these comments appearing in such a random order?

Second edit: Zilla – good to hear from you, good to know you’re still out there. I hope things are going well for you. Merry Christmas my friend.

  5. Petronius says:

I wish a merry Christmas to Steve and to all the busy bees at S&L.

But this Christmas Eve my very special wishes go out to Joe American, the Forgotten Man :

    • the pleas and outcries of suffering from an outraged American people continue to be ignored, as both political parties remain committed to big government, big spending, big immigration, and globalization.
    • this season Americans are lining up by the thousands to apply for a handful of low paying jobs that (we are told) Americans won’t do.
    • official unemployment rose to 9.8% in Dec.
    • 15.3M people are unemployed (official), up from 14.9M in Nov.
    • real unemployment is pushing 26.2M.
    • 5M jobs have been lost in residential construction alone.
    • In the past decade America has lost 10% of its middle class jobs, falling from 72M jobs in 2000 to 65M in 2010.
    • Pundits are calling economic stagnation and 10% unemployment the “new normal.”
    • A record 43M Americans are on food stamps –– one in every seven Americans.
    • tens of millions of seniors are being squeezed by higher prices for food, healthcare, and energy as a result of irresponsible government fiscal, monetary, social and environmental policies.
    • contrary to Fed Chairman Bernanke’s claim, housing prices have collapsed nationwide; millions of American homeowners are underwater in their mortgages.
    • over 1M foreclosures this year.
    • over 1.6M bankruptcies.
    • mass immigration continues to build pressure on American jobs and State resources.
    • Nerobama’s economic strategy of blaming everything on Bush is starting to wear thin.

Ammo, silver coins, incandescent light bulbs, and gasoline gift cards make the perfect gifts for your loved ones this Holiday season.

Remember our soldiers overseas. Remember the needy in your community, and have a cool Yule.

Season’s Greetings to you Steve, your lovely wife and the brilliant folks who give S & L life, humor, and insight – God bless you all.
And to those celebrating Christmas: “God grant you the light in Christmas, which is faith; the warmth of Christmas, which is love; the radiance of Christmas, which is purity; the righteousness of Christmas, which is justice; the belief in Christmas, which is truth; the all of Christmas, which is Christ.”

  7. JohnMG says:

Well, once again I’m late to the party.

Merry Christmas to all here at S & L and especially to Steve for consenting to run the “still-sane” asylum, a site where we of a like mind can gather, exchange opinions and just plain “vent”. Most of all, thanks to everyone for making me aware there are still a lot of “us” out here in the trenches. That’s a real comfort.

Thank God we live where and as we do, and especially pray for our military and that of our allies. This can be a lonesome time of year for those in harm’s way.

  8. Mithrandir says:

Bad News: The devil controls this world, not God. (this explains a lot!)

Temptation of Christ: Worship the devil in return for all the kingdoms of the world. –Luke has the devil explicitly claim this authority had previously been handed to himself, the devil.

    Good News: It’s temporary.
“Yeah, but God has been promising his kingdom for 1000s of years!” —But you don’t live for 1000s of years, and it’s not like you have been waiting, you only live a handful of decades before you die and will be raised up and be judged, so in actuality, TIME IS SHORT!

Christmas is not a time to get drunk at a party, or go into debt feeling guilty about gifts, that is not what God would want, BE MERRY!

  9. Merry Christmas Folks.

  10. TwilightZoned says:

John Quincy Adams words July 4, 1837:

“Why is it that, next to the birthday of the Savior of the world,
your most joyous and most venerated festival returns on this day? …
Is it not that, in the chain of human events, the birthday of the
nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior? That it
forms a leading event in the progress of the Gospel dispensation? Is
it not that the Declaration of Independence first organized the social
compact on the foundation of the Redeemer’s mission upon earth. That
it laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of
Christianity, and gave to the world the first irrevocable pledge of
the fulfillment of the prophecies announced directly from Heaven at
the birth of the Savior and predicted by the greatest of the Hebrew
    prophets six hundred years before?”

Bright man – Mr. Adams. Merry Christmas everyone!

  11. Zilla says:

    Merry Christmas!

(DW and sj, I’m still lurking,)

  12. River0 says:

*Merry Christmas* everyone! I’m noticing a much larger emphasis on it this year. Drudge reports that Bethlehem has record numbers of visitors, and the Pope’s Christmas Mass, Handel’s ‘Hallelujah’, and other formal celebrations are on the ‘net more than they were last year. But most telling of all, profanity and defacement of Jews and Christians is up; and we’re being attacked and murdered in the Middle East in much larger numbers this year. As God approaches, Satanic forces see that time is getting short. Persecution and violence are ratcheted up.

The Darkness is pierced by the tiniest of lights, and Darkness must extinguish it or perish. This is an impossible task and a violation of Nature. We are forces of Nature that cannot be stopped.

  13. Liberals Demise says:

    Merry Christmas one and all.
This past year was an assault to our senses but we weathered it together and for that I am grateful.
Please keep our warriors in thought this day as for they are the ones who stand at the gates and deny those who have malice in their hearts against us.
It has been my extreme pleasure to have been blessed enough to find the art of conversation at this site. Thank you Steve……….”KING BEE”.

  14. Curmudgeon says:

Merry Christmas to all of you dear, clear-headed folks. I am grateful for the blessing of your wit and wisdom throughout the year. Thanks so much, Steve.

  15. proreason says:

    Merry Christmas to all.

December was a disaster for the country. The dethroned aristocracy shoved a redwood in the eyes of the people of the United States.

    2011 should be better.

    It better be.

  16. P. Aaron says:

Merry Christmas S & L and you quick-thinking readers & commentors. You all help me to laugh in the face of this utterly disasterous Administration and its congressional allies.

  17. TangentToWhat says:

Thank you S & L for your clarity, and reason. From an undisclosed bunker located somewhere in the hills of occupied Mendocino County.

  18. canary says:

Quotes by our Founders ; the U.S. is a Nation based upon Christianity.

Happy Birthday Jesus. Today & everyday.

  19. Mae says:

Sincerely hope that the Christmas holiday was a wonderful one for all who love, care for and appreciate our great nation. May her enemies be defeated and her honor restored to its fullness. That Christ was born to serve and die for every one of us is the greatest gift. May we live with integrity and when our time on this earth is over, may it be said of us, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant!”

It is a joy to be a part of this Sweetness community. Thank you, Steve, for all the work you put into keeping us informed.
