Messina Pretends Romney Spoke Of ‘Revenge’

From the Daily Caller:

Team Obama downplays call for ‘revenge’

By Neil Munro | Sun November 4, 2012

Team Obama’s campaign manager is trying to muffle the political impact of President Barack Obama’s call for ballot-box “revenge” by claiming that Gov. Mitt Romney is himself touting revenge.

“The Romney campaign’s message today is revenge, ours is the President’s plan for the middle class,” campaign manager Jim Messina tweeted Sunday morning. “I’ll take that contrast any day.” …

So instead of their usual excuse, ‘that Obama was taken out of context,’ the Obama campaign is trying another tack. They are simply pretending Romney said it.

This is downright Orwellian in its mendacity. And it is a new low even for this campaign.

“Don’t boo, vote! Vote! Voting is the best revenge,” Obama said Friday at a rally in Springfield, Va.

In another "off teleprompter" moment where he let the mask slip.

Romney cited that comment in a speech later that day and has emphasized it over the weekend. The campaign on Saturday released a TV ad using the comment to highlight Romney’s own end-of-campaign themes: “love of country,” optimism, hope and change.

The ad is titled “Revenge Or Love Of Country.”

It is a stark contrast in messages. Obama: ‘Vote for revenge.’ Romney: ‘Vote for love of country.’

Both campaigns conduct numerous polls to gauge the impact of each day’s events. Messina’s effort to spin the revenge controversy suggests that it is alienating late-deciding voters in key swing states…

"Spin"? It’s not quite a spin. It’s a flat out lie.

So far, media coverage of Obama’s “revenge” call has been muted, especially when compared to the coverage of Romney’s “47 percent” comments to wealthy donors…

Shocking, isn’t it?

So the question now is will tomorrow mark the end of Obama’s revenge on America? Or will it be the beginning of four more years of revenge?

Nothing topped Matthews spinning “revenge” as Mitt using a ethnically charged code word, as if it would even be in the lexicon without Obama

Obama’s revengeful mind will come out full force if he is re-elected and move at a greater speed.

Obama recently said there have been many times he’s had to tell both sides “no”.

Obama see himself as a god. And no one can change that mentality he’s had his entire life.

Wasn’t this kind of how the “Contract with America” was warped into the “Contract on America?” How about the “dismantling of the middle class?” Does anyone buy what they say today–the message is intended to fool the undecided people, not the Democrat operatives.

It’s kind of like how every time I see one of the Obama “Forward!” signs I remember reading about Mao Zedong’s “Great Leap Forward” and give a little shudder.
