Michelle Obama: ‘Hussein’ Is A Fear Bomb

From an outraged (at the Islamophobes) Chicago Tribune:

Michelle Obama campaigning in Chillicothe, Ohio for her husband, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., Thursday Feb. 28, 2008.

Michelle Obama: name Hussein is ‘the fear bomb’

by Mark Silva

Michelle Obama, who often has decried “the fear bomb” that opponents have used against her husband for his middle name — Barack Hussein Obama — said in Canton, Ohio, today that it is happening again and shows why it’s so important that he wins election as president.

They threw in the obvious, ultimate fear bomb,” Obama said today of her husband’s 2004 Senate race. “We’re even hearing [that] now. … ‘When all else fails, be afraid of his name, and what that could stand for, because it’s different.’”

The senator’s wife said that rivals use innuendo to play on fears. “Just as they’re saying it now,” she said.

But, she told about 200 supporters this morning at a restored theater in Canton, Obama won despite that “climate of negativity and doubt” in 2004. “We learned, number one, that when power is threatened by real change they will say anything to stop it,” she said. “But we also learned that the American people can handle the truth.”

What America needs, she added, is a “fundamentally different kind of leadership,” one that challenges people to be different, and better to one another. And that, she said to critics who say it is not his time, cannot wait.

“Barack Obama will be the kind of leader we need right now, not in four years or eight years or 12 years,” she said. “We can’t wait to get this right. We need it to happen today.”

Well, it is his name, is it not?

If “the American people can handle the truth,” does that mean we can call him by his full name again? I suspect not.

To be on the safe side, the Obama people need to make up a list of what Mr. Obama can be called. What photos of him can be shown. Which of his friends and advisors we are allowed to mention. And which parts of his past are allowed to be noted.

We don’t want to be accused of fear mongering.

Anything but that.

“But we also learned that the American people can handle the truth.” ………Michelle Obama.

And just as soon as we start hearing it we’ll deal with it. I’m really tired of listening to the words that tumble from his mouth non-stop in a futile effort to hear something besides “hope” and “change”. So far we haven’t heard anything of substance, be it truth or otherwise.

    I’m waaaaaaaiting!

Well according to the brainless lefties(including Juan Mccain) it is racist to refer to Barack Hussein Obama as Barack Hussein Obama. God forbid we dare refer to him by his given name…I wonder if his muslim father stopped people when they called him Barack Hussein Obama sr.?

According to the same failed lefty logic…it is also racist if you call a muslim a muslim. It doesn’t matter if it has nothing to do with race…it’s racist! This is what we’re dealing with, people….presumably brain damaged lunatics, controlling the media…just wait till they get their “thought crimes” bills passed.

This is the brilliance of Obama’s campaign. They spend all their time creating things to defend themselves against, not allowing any time for actual policy or philosophy questions. After all this time running for president, what do we know about his positions? He wants free health care for everyone, he wants all troops out of Iraq, he wants young people to stop pursuing good jobs and education and rather, volunteer to work for the good of the state. I can’t think of any more. The last point is communist hogwash, the first two are desired results, not policies. How do you plan on getting there?

But instead of substance, he’s always using meaningless platitudes about America’s greatness being somehow tied to more social spending. Or he’s saying “they say” this and “some believe it can’t be done” and other rediculous self made challenges that he can immediatley somehow prove that only he can overcome.

Everything about America is bad and I’m the only man who can fix it all. And by the way, if you don’t entrust me to do so, you’re a backwards racist.

What a surreal time in America’s history we’re living through when we make a celebrity out of a man like this and forget that we have enemies in the world. How did free health care trump post-9/11 diligence?

“….he wants young people to stop pursuing good jobs and education and rather, volunteer to work for the good of the state.”

    Michelle claims:

“Barack and I were in that position,” she continues. “The only reason we’re not in that position is that Barack wrote two best-selling books… It was like Jack and his magic beans. But up until a few years ago, we were struggling to figure out how we would save for our kids.” A former attorney with the white-shoe Chicago firm of Sidley & Austin, Obama explains that she and her husband made the choice to give up lucrative jobs in favor of community service. “We left corporate America, which is a lot of what we’re asking young people to do,” she tells the women. “Don’t go into corporate America. You know, become teachers. Work for the community. Be social workers. Be a nurse. Those are the careers that we need, and we’re encouraging our young people to do that. But if you make that choice, as we did, to move out of the money-making industry into the helping industry, then your salaries respond.” Faced with that reality, she adds, “many of our bright stars are going into corporate law or hedge-fund management.”

AmericanIPA says it best. “This is the brilliance of Obama’s campaign.”

This is going to be a repeat of the 2006 election and we’re going to hear from the Democrats for 2 (4) years: “America has spoken and this is the change that they voted for……”.

I guess it’s safer to hold off on the details until you actually get elected to office. (sarc)

….”as we did, to move out of the money-making industry into the helping industry…” Michelle Obama

Just how much money were you making before you mooved out of the money-making industry? Your tax returns show a joint income of $900,000.00-plus dollars. Looks to me like the ones who did the helping helped themselves to quite a large portion of the goodies. These people are shameless

TPS ,there’s no reason to succeed financially if we can’t rely on hand-outs .So presto-change-o ,
we need a poli-magician like BHO . Smoke and mirrors doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel . I will not be painted into a corner . What’s worse is you can’t call him a liberal or call him on his policies ( if any ) or his real name . A real stand out ! Somehow he and his wife get a free pass . Wake me up from this bad dream . Somebody ?

….”as we did, to move out of the money-making industry into the helping industry…” Michelle Obama

There comes the baby boomers and we need more care worker for $10 an hour, in the old folks home, a job now being done by immigrants?

  8. catnamedjake

What? Are we supposed to feel bad and/or guilty about recognizing that his middle name is muslim and may or may not be associated with terrorists? Now he’s the victim? The underdog? Him and Hillary cannot both be the victim/underdog. (grammar, sorry) He should have thought of this before, and had it legally changed. PLAN AHead.

And if you read the comments below the Swamp article, there is one of the most unintentionally creepy comments ever:

    @ Terry -
Um, he’s not ashamed of his middle name. He just doesn’t generally use it, like most Americans. After 8 years of President Obama, Hussein will be very much an American name.

Dave S., I am all too sure that after 8 years of President Obama, Hussein will be very much an American name. Along with Islam being our religion and Spanish our language.

“a joint income of $900,000.00-plus dollars”

And they are worried about their children going to college?

    Is it April 1?

“volunteer to work for the good of the state.”

    In lieu of the draft.

Whether you like them or not, Mexicans are mostly pretty stongly Catholic, no? - Aren’t blacks much more prone to islamation than hispanics? Just seems that way to me. Doesn’t seem like blacks and hispanics get along all that well, either.
