Michelle Pushes For Amnesty At New Citizens Ceremony

From an irony proof Associated Press:

First lady makes pitch for immigration overhaul

By NANCY BENAC | June 18, 2014

WASHINGTON (AP) — Michelle Obama turned a flag-waving swearing-in ceremony for 50 new American citizens Wednesday into a platform to call for action on the long-bogged-down issue of immigration.

What a slap in the face of the people there who just went through the trouble of becoming American citizens by following the law.

"In many ways, it is because of — not in spite of — our immigrant population that we grow stronger every single day," the first lady told the newest Americans-by-choice.

Fifty people from 44 nations, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, took the oath in the historic setting of the National Archives rotunda, where originals of the U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights are displayed.

The new citizens waved small U.S. flags afterward, and each got a hug from the first lady.

Even though she clearly thinks they are saps for obeying our immigration laws.

Mrs. Obama was clearly speaking to an audience beyond the rotunda when she told the new citizens that "much of our success is because we still very much are a nation of immigrants." She recited statistics on immigrants who start small businesses, serve in the military and contribute in the arts and sciences.

"Yet today in Washington, folks are still debating whether or not to fix our immigration system even though just about everyone agrees that it is broken," she said. Mrs. Obama said overhauling immigration policy was the president’s legislative priority and that he would keep fighting for it…

Perhaps someone should inform Mrs. Obama that the United States already has by far the most generous immigration policy of any county in the world. That we already allow more than 1.1 million new immigrants per year. Which is far more than the rest of the world allows — combined. (For comparison, the city of Boston only has a population of 636,479.)

We also have a legal immigration rate that is far higher than the rate at the height of Ellis Island, when adjusted for population growth. (In fact, only 12 million people came through Ellis Island in 62 years.)

The president has been resisting calls from supporters of an immigration overhaul to move ahead unilaterally on the limited changes that he can do on his own.

Yeah, he’s really been fighting the urge to use an executive order to just give everyone amnesty.

This is kind of a slap in the face to the 50 people who immigrated here “LEGALLY”

We are stronger from illegals who are incompetent and a burdent?
We owe them thanks for the success they bring? What success?

Look what happens as we see in other countries like Africa, Iraq, Libya, Syria, when all these radical foreignors
go in a run their countries.

Times and Seasons changes. We no longer need immigrants like we did as a brand new country growing.

Now we are a nanny state to people that cause a hardship in medical, schooling, housing and feeding them.

This country can not make it if there is a communication problem in which will lead to mistakes being made.

We have people jobless. Thinks change.

We are going through Immigrant climate change that is leading to national disastor financially. The extra need and cost of educating them, and giving them medical care, leaves US citizens as second class and being held back.
