Mickey Mouse On Strike Against Disney

Protesters dressed as Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, lead a march from the Paradise Pier Hotel to the main entrance of Disneyland during a demonstration protesting Disney’s treatment of hotel workers in Anaheim, Calif., on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008. The arrests followed a march by hundreds of maids, cooks and dishwashers from three Disney hotels. The workers’ contract expired in February, and their union says Disney’s latest offer would make health care unaffordable and create an unfair two-tier wage system.

How is’t this possible?

Isn’t Disney the most progressive, illegal alien and gay-friendly employer on the planet? What more could their workers want?

And how could this self-same Disney company, which constantly hectors us about our moral failings via their ABC News outlet be so benighted as to resist any union demands?
