Muslim Psychiatrist Murders 13 Soldiers

From those tireless defenders of the faith at the New York Times:

12 Dead, 31 Wounded in Base Shootings

November 6, 2009

At least one gunman killed 11 soldiers and wounded 31 others on Thursday afternoon at Fort Hood in Texas. Authorities then killed the gunman, who was identified as Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army major who was about to be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan.

Major Hasan was a mental-health physician, according to Army records, who had been promoted in April. The Associated Press reported that his specialty was psychiatry.

Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone, the commanding officer at Fort Hood, the largest active military installation in the country, said the base was placed in lockdown as military authorities, with the help of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, investigate the rampage. Other military installations were also put on alert, but not on complete lockdown, authorities said.

“This was a terrible tragedy,” said General Cone, speaking at a news conference Thursday afternoon. “Stunning.”‘

The Austin-American Statesman quoted Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison’s spokesman, Jeff Sadoski, as saying Major Hasan was upset about his deployment.

President Obama, speaking from the White House, called it “a horrific outburst of violence.”

“My immediate thoughts and prayers are with the wounded and with the families of the fallen,” the president said.

“We don’t yet know all the details at this moment,” he said. “We will share them as we get them. What we do know is that a number of American soldiers have been killed and even more have been wounded in a horrific outburst of violence.” …

General Cone said the shooting began at about 1:30 p.m. Central time, when a soldier entered the soldier readiness unit, where soldiers receive last-minute medical attention and other instruction before being deployed overseas, including to Iraq and Afghanistan.

“A soldier opened fire, and due to the quick response of the police forces, he was killed,” General Cone said.

“There were several eyewitness accounts that there was more than one shooter,” he said. Two other soldiers were also taken into custody, he said, but the authorities are continuing to sort out what exactly happened.

General Cone said that the sprawling base has facilities that house children, but that there were no children among the dead or wounded. Even as he spoke to reporters, sirens could be heard in the distance as the wounded were taken to area hospitals…

Yes, this was just a “a horrific outburst of violence.”

There is just no other explanation.

By the way, given that

Mr. Nidal Malik Hasan, is a mental health physician, it might be a little tricky to try to sell us on the notion that he was mentally ill.

That is, apart from his (soon to be heavily downplayed) religious persuasion.

    Happening now…..Three gunmen attacked soldiers and civilians at Ft. Hood in Killeen Texas…..one captured, one at large, and another apparently in a gunfight. I have no links…just watching Fox News.

    • proreason says:

      One of the gunmen was a major who was a “convert to Islam”: Major Malik Nadal Hasan.

      But of course, there is no reason to believe that the religion of peace had anything whatsoever to do with it. Major Hasan was probably distraught over a girlfriend or getting incorrect change in a store or something like that.

    • proreason says:

      Well go figger.

      It turns out Major Hasan had been tracked by authorities for at least 6 month. Turns out he was musing about suicide bombings and stuff like that. Maybe he was going to write a poem about heroic bombers or something.

      You just never know about these things.

      Once in a great while when a Muslim commits violence, it turns out to be very loosely related to the religion of peace after all, rather than combat stress or the difficulty of finding Middle Eastern fast-food around Fort Hood.

  2. take_no_prisoners says:

    OK, so why haven’t all the major news media outlets branded this pyschopathic murderer as a crazy left wing Obama supporter who is obviously a domestic terrorist? Just asking.

  3. Melly says:

    Did anyone see/hear Barry speak today?
    What a disgrace.
    He doesn’t open his remarks with the tragedy that just unfolded; instead he gives a “shout out” to someone and discusses a different matter.
    Rush Limbaugh is right. Barry does not care for the military and our country. It was quite evident by his demeanor. He hates America.

    God bless America.

    • proreason says:

      It isn’t Obamy’s fault.

      That’s what the teleprompter told him to say.

    • Melly says:

      Ahh proreason. I forgot all about that evil TOTUS.
      But Barry did some heavy lifting today; he broke out some notes while he discussed Fort Bragg. Poor baby; he must be so exhausted.

    • BannedbytheTaliban says:

      To be fair, his “shout out” was to a MoH recipient and his comments on the shooting were added on to a pre-planned address. Still, his remarks were rather lackluster and typical of left wing politician.

    • catie says:

      I know wasn’t that terrible? This idiot starts out the speech with “wanting to give a shout out” to someone. He is so inappropriate. If it had been W he would have spoke of the tragedy, asked for a moment of silence & ask for prayers. This guy almost scoffed at it. It’s disgusting.
      I know it was to a MOH winner but the point is, can’t this moron get anything right. He should have mentioned the tragedy first then gave his “shout out”.

    • White_Polluter says:

      I also heard the “shout out” at the beginning of his speech. I had to ask myself if this was taped footage of a prior speech. The TV said it was the President speaking on the Ft. Hood tragedy, but 59 States wasn’t talking about it, he was giving a “shout out.” I never thought I’d hear the day when my President gave a “shout out.”

      I know it was to a MOH winner, IMHO, that is digraceful enough not treating a MOH winner with proper respect. Do you give a “shout out” to your boss? I hope not.

      Then, 59 States babbles on about the great work they are continuing to do and how he is going to work harder for diversity blah, blah, blah. How about speaking to the tragedy at hand?

      The libs blasted Bush for his reaction to the 911 tragedy, but that was on the spur of the moment. 59 States had plenty of time to get his thoughts together before addressing the public, and this is what he says? What a jack***. Stay tuned, more to come as this will not be the last terrorist attack on American soil while we have 59 states at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

    • catie says:

      Turns out this so called MOH winner was not a MOH winner but a Presidential Freedom Medal of which our illustrious CIC had just presented him with sometime this summer. What a freaking nightmare.

  4. Rusty Shackleford says:

    “Major Hasan was upset about his deployment.”

    Well, he no longer has to go. Problem solved.

  5. Travis says:

    Hey he is an Arab Muslim and Arab Muslims kill as naturally as bears **** in the woods.

  6. Rabies.

    Dogs with rabies are put down…

    We don’t let rabid animals run about willy nilly..

    Conscientious objectors can sit down and hold their breath and not fight and be dealt with appropriately. Generally they don’t kill their “buddies.”

    Only Islam can allow.. nay.. DIRECT someone to do such a thing..

    Awake yet? Poor old Yeller.. he only needed to live in today’s world.

  7. canary says:

    Well, we knew there’d be another terrorist attack of U.S. soil under Obama’s watch, or lack of watch. All Obama’s love b.s. towards terrorists, while he only has threatening words to Republicans.

    What did the muslim terrorist’s poor evaluation at Walter Reed say, that got him sent to Ft. Hood.? Maybe he was putting guilt on patient soldiers with PTSD. No telling.

    Dang good thing they killed him, or Obama would give him a hotel room and Sharia court. They need to check the goats he hung out with too.

    Obama said “it’s a tragedy to lose a soldier overseas and even more horrifying when they come under fire at an Army base on American soil”

    how so? wrong. What’s horrifying is Obama’s having our soldiers slaving, doing missionary work for the terrorists, helping them turn peaceful, walk into a school with school supplies just to be attacked, losing lifes over goats, drinking tea trying and grow their crops, build wells, and stay alive at that.
    Obama is America’s tragedy. Obama’s torturing our troops is horrifying.

  8. wardmama4 says:

    Born a muslim, converted to islam – what ever. He joined the Army prior to 9/11 – he was in ROTC – if he had some real heartburn with America’s military response to 9/11 – he had options – and given his religion (or claimed religion) – he might have gotten an easy out. He claims harassment – and supposedly even hired a lawyer – come on – also if even a smidgen was true – given his religion – another easy out.

    But then Akbar’s father also claimed the exact same thing about him after he killed fellow soldiers prior to the invasion into Iraq –

    So maybe, it’s just me – but it seems that these ‘muslim’ soldiers sit quietly until the right moment to strke and then the family members blame everyone else. Seems to be a pattern and one that I do not like seeing at all – since I have several family members still in service.

    And something needs to be looked into to make sure that this does not happen again.

    Of course it is harder when the very person our traumatized soldiers are suppose to be turning to, turns out to be violent against them – that won’t make many soldiers eager to open up to anyone anytime soon.

  10. 12 Gauge Rage says:

    Killeen is my mother’s home town. My niece is active duty there at Fort Hood and my brother-in-law works there too for the DOD. My family says that everyone is okay but for awhile the place was chaotic. Even the local Wal-Mart was under strict security. Most likely because a lot of soldiers shop there. My mother says the shooter isn’t dead but wounded. My thoughts are who in the military will want to defend this piece of trash at his court martial? For what it’s worth, my niece who just returned from a year long deployment from Iraq, said she was very uncomfortable about going out on convoy with Iraqi soldiers. There was something about them she said, that made her feel like they would turn on her and the others if given the chance.

  11. oldswimcoach says:

    Latest news reports are that the guy is alive and in custody. Truely a sad day for the Army and Army families. The Army has been making significant efforts to lower soldiers distrust of “all things mental health,” I doubt this incident will help.

  12. canary says:

    12Gauge, If he lives, he should be charged as a terrorist against the U.S. period.

    AP: Army: 12 dead, 31 hurt in attack at Fort Hood, Nov 5 2009

    FORT HOOD, Texas – The gunman…was wounded but alive and in stable condition under military guard, said Lt. Gen. Bob Cone at Fort Hood.” Col. Ben Danner said the suspect was shot four times

    ~Hasan had transferred to Fort Hood in July from Walter Reed Medical Center, where he received a poor performance evaluation,~ according to an official

    Retired Col. Terry Lee, who said he had worked with Hasan, told Fox News he was being sent to Afghanistan.

    ~~~Lee said Hasan had hoped Obama would pull troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq and got into frequent arguments with others in the military who supported the wars.~~~
    Faizul Khan, a former imam at a mosque Hasan attended in Silver Spring, Md., said he spoke often with Hasan about how Hasan wanted to find a wife. Hasan was a lifelong Muslim and attended prayers regularly, often in his Army uniform, Khan said.
    The shooter used two pistols, one of them semiautomatic. Neither were military-issued, Danner said.
    Soldiers at Fort Hood don’t carry weapons unless they are doing training exercises.
    The man survived, was treated and will be fine, Schannep said.
    He received his medical degree from the military’s Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., in 2001 and was at Walter Reed for six years for his internship, residency and a fellowship.
    “We are shocked and saddened by the terrible events at Fort Hood today,” his cousin, Nadar Hasan, …
    can’t imagine the affect his mosque(s) buddy’s and muslim family had on him. Obama’s Homeland Security now can add to their extremist terror level list. He will be the first to get the BHO pilot Sharia Court trail.
    • canary says:
      and what was Obama’s mind & ‘own time’ focused on, when he did not have to fly to middle-east to pay respect to fallen U.S. soldiers? Quote from AP article below. (must have shared the peace pipe)
      “For the next eight years — the next four years at least, let me not jump the gun,” Obama said, catching himself. …”
      Obama: US must reverse course with Indians; by Ben Feller Nov 5 2009
      WASHINGTON –Obama devoted part of his own time Thursday and even more of his administration’s attention toward renewing relations with American Indians.
      It comes as American Indians remain entrenched in a class-action lawsuit against the federal government, claiming the government has long swindled them out of land royalties.
      The president seemed to connect best when he told his audience that he was like them: an “outsider” who grew up without a father, moved around a lot, and understood what it was like to struggle and be ignored.
  13. beautyofreason says:
    I’m sorry that our country lost some of our best men.
    It is illustrative to look at this story and reader comments from different news organizations. If you read the comments after this story on NPR website, almost all of them are from a liberal standpoint equating this Islamic moron’s homicides to the actions of Israel and the U.S. in Afghanistan and Iraq. If you look at the comments from CNN’s website on the same story, most have been deleted – there are long rows of names with blank space, and an occasional posted comment asking for readers to suspend judgment of the man or claiming that his religion has nothing to do with the matter. I wonder if those deleted comments were less PC on the religion of peace than CNN could stomach. In any case, I find the media tiptoeing around the role that his Islamic beliefs may have played in his hatred of U.S. forces. Perhaps CNN and other outlets are simply trying to appease the Obama administration’s sugar coating of political Islam.
    As for CAIR’s condolences over the deaths, the organization is worthless in my eyes because many of their members have ties to terrorist organizations and the Muslim Brotherhood – a group whose stated goal is the destruction of the United States from within and the implementation of shariah law. They are merely addressing PR so their religious image doesn’t take a hit.
    I hope that terrorists get a special place in hell. And I hope that their defenders, (e.x. the moral equivocators, the left) will someday understand the evil that they defend.
    • canary says:
      Beauty of Reason, FBI has even cut ties with CAIRS, and at the recent
      Detroit sting, they sympathized. Once the find out Hasan laughed when the Little Rock shootings, where a muslim shot two and killed 2 troops ready to deploy, and referred to it on several occasions that if prehaps more muslims did as they did in Little Rock, it would stop the war.
      This terrorist Hasan, will only think how he wished he’d killed more.
      How can he have been reluctant to go, as Obama’s mission for him, was to give medical aid to the Afganistans, drink tea, build hospitals & schools for terrorist muslims. Obama will no doubt invite him to the White House for
      tea or cheap Goat’s Beer.
  14. puhiawa says:
    President Goat Boy Obama is either completely disingenuous, or the complete fool he appears to be. He needs to go back to ACORN. He is well beyond his pay grade.
    AP:Troubling portrait emerges of Fort Hood suspect Nov 6 2009
    WASHINGTON – His name appears on radical Internet postings. A fellow officer says he fought his deployment to Iraq and argued with soldiers who supported U.S. wars. –Nidal Malik Hasan, responsible for the worst mass killing on a U.S. military base.
    While an intern at Walter Reed, Hasan had some “difficulties” that required counseling and extra supervision, said Dr. Thomas Grieger, who was the training director at the time…problems had to do with Hasan’s interactions with patients.
    But, more recently, federal agents grew suspicious.
    At least six months ago, Hasan came to the attention of law enforcement officials because of Internet postings about suicide bombings and other threats, including posts that equated suicide bombers to soldiers who throw themselves on a grenade to save the lives of their comrades…
    They had not determined for certain whether Hasan is the author of the posting, and a formal investigation had not been opened before the shooting, said law enforcement officials
    Faizul Khan, a former imam…said Hasan was a lifelong Muslim.
    On a form filled out by those seeking spouses through a program at the mosque, Hasan listed his birthplace as Arlington, Va., but his nationality as Palestinian, Khan said.
    Obama needs to get over his attacking Americans, get rid of his frills, CZARs, acorn nuts, and understand muslims are the biggest global warming threats. Obama will ‘rehab this terrorist’ as CZAR Doctor over health care. No way this doctor and his Koran brain problem should ever be released. And he should not be allowed the Koran as punishment.
    Taking their Koran away seems to bother terrorists most. Sniff, sniff, I went without my Koran for 24 hours in prison.
  16. U NO HOO says:
    Come on y’all, it is just an isolated incident, keep moving, nothing to see here.
    • proreason says:
      U NO,
      You are being sarcastic, but what you say is exactly how these creeps see it.
      The reason the Moron seemed unfazed when the teleprompter told him to give a “shout out” in order to pick up a handful of votes in the next election is because he IS unfazed by the tragedy.
      The incident in Fort Hood is an example of what they expect and what they accept. They have made the deadly calculation that a certain number of deaths per year from Terrorism related incidents is acceptable. And by “acceptable”, I mean politically acceptable. This president is amoral. He feel nothing for the men and women who were killed and injured. His remarks prove it. I don’t know what the “acceptable” number is, but you can bet that they know it and talk about it.
      And they certainly don’t value the life of a soldier at the same level as a life of say, an illegal immigrant. Soldiers don’t vote for Obamy. Illegal immigrants do. Plus, if soldiers weren’t such losers, they would never get “stuck in Iraq” or Fort Hood.
      In my view, the deaths of those men and women are combat casualties. They sacrificed their lives for us. It points out the extreme danger they live under, whether thay are in a firefight or not. The world is filled with people who hate them, including the POTUS and his advisors. And the fact that they were murdered by an American is a new and chilling wake-up call to what the country faces…..from the Terrorists ato the criminal cabal that has siezed the White House.
  17. wardmama4 says:
    You might all want to travel to Michelle Malkin’s spot to see a real run down on these muslim soldiers with a problem – just makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside as to how great and in dept our msm journalists research, investigate and point out how often this has occurred. . .//sarc off//
    And one wonders as to how and why this continues to happen – Hello, is anyone listening and seeing the pattern? At. All.
    Now on a better note – We have been stationed at Fort Hood twice. The last time for 7 years – While I was not a fan in the beginning – I was at the end (2004). Great Army Post – and We must not let the violent, hatred of one person destroy the Greatness that is America’s Armed Forces – so in that vein – I post this with the simple introduction – This is Fort Hood:
  18. proreason says:
    The White House will announce today that they saved or created 200 lives at Fort Hood yesterday.
    They attibute it to tough new tactics in Overseas Contingency Operations.
  19. Again I want to thank you guys in military families who have served or are serving.
    For the ability to survive not only the trials of war and your particular responsibilities, but the Multicultural nonsense that unfortunately leads us up to more than singular events such as this.
    God Bless You.
  20. proreason says:
    “Obama Searching for the Root Causes of Ft. Hood Massacre”
    “It looks like the man who killed 13 soldiers and police at Ft. Hood was a Muslim radical who hated America, resented our occupation of Muslim lands, would not be photographed with women, and chanted “Allahu Akbar” before he launched a one-man terrorist attack, but according to CBS White House Correspondent Mark Knoller, Obama wants to know what really made him do it:
    Obama said he met today with FBI Director et al to discuss “what caused one individual to turn his gun on fellow servicemen and women.
    what could it be. what could it be.
    Has the Moron heard my “incorrect change” theory yet?
    • proreason says:
      Geraldo actually said on O’Reilly last night, in defense of his contention that the shooter could be motivated by almost anything, that it might be because the Yankees won.
      It came very quickly and at the end of his segment and you could easily miss it since pompous O’Reilly was wrapping up the segment. The Geraldo fool (rather than the O’Reilly fool) was using the Yankees to make a point, not because he actually believes that was the motivation, but geez.
      In the clips you can find on-line, they don’t include his outrageous analogy. Even Fox edits itself.
