Steve, your first caption “Muslims Abandon 300 Dogs on Island”, could very well have been correct. We’ll probably never know. All we have is some “villagers” abandoned the dogs. Which villagers? The fishermen? The village leadership? The (Muslim) police? If public safety is left to Muslims, would that not also include dog catchers?

I corroborated what you said about the residents in Pulau Ketam. Most residents are ethnic Chinese with a small percentage of Malays who are cops, teachers, and nurses. Now, in order to be a Malay, you have to be a Muslim–that’s written in the Malaysian constitution. So, the enforcers of law, the cops, are Muslim. I wouldn’t be surprised if the police force had something to do with the doggie version of “Lost”.

Pulau Ketam is also somewhat of a tourist destination. I can see how some people could be motivated to rid the area of stray dogs. An unwanted plant is a weed, no matter if it is a rose sticking out of your well-kept lawn. An unwanted animal is a pest, be it a roach, ant, mouse–or dog.

Steve, actually the residents of Pulau Ketam are all ethnic Chinese, practicing Chinese traditions, religions and culture. The only Malays on the island are the cops and the teachers. But the Chinese have a long and greusome history with animal cruelty.

I think that says it all about this, I’m pretty horrified by it. I also thought the media was soft selling the story a bit too much….they just wanted to clean up and thought the dogs would be fine. Right….

Obama ate dog meat (tough), snake meat (tougher), and roasted grasshopper (crunchie) while in Indonesia. His step-father that a man took on the powers of whatever he ate and promised he’d bring home a piece of tiger meat. pg 37. Course the middle-east has always considered dogs pests, and Mexico, Phillipians eat dogs.
Obama had quite a few muslim friends in NY, was dissapointed in one muslim friend, a former gangbanger that converted to muslim. And Obama was disappointed in his muslim friend because although he and Obama both agreed that all blacks were for nationalism, Obama couldn’t understand that inspite of muslim friend’s love for black people and trying to help the, why at the same time did he not fully trust black people.
Well, maybe Obama didn’t grasp that it’s not normal to trust everyone, no matter what race they are.

Why not simply castrate the stray dogs? They probably do this to their livestock. Then they wouldn’t have stray dogs and the dogs wouldn’t suffer this ghastly fate.
