I first came out with the suspicion N. Korea's scud missles were cyber attacks on July 4-5 (mispellings and all I now see. It was 1 of my bad eyes days, like most)

Tranquil.Night. Canary what do you make of the reports of Soviet tech on the NorComs ICBMs?
Well, Russia is dealing with alot of poverty for along time, and the one thing they have is weapons of mass destructions stockpiled. Missles, antrax, (Russians are really into poisoning for ages) Clinton complained in 93ish, and Putin is just doing as he pleases. And we at least know Russia has been selling enriched uranium to both N. Korea and Iran, and it is not evident both N. Korea and Iran have nuclear weapons. On to of that it’s now pretty well assumed that Iran and N. Korea have gotten missles from Russia. Israel believes that even France and Germany have been aiding Russia. What concerns me about N. Korea’s scuds they have been shooting off on our countries birthday. It’s been reported by former IAEA nuclear inspector David albright that Iran coverted 7 tons of gas called uranium hexaflouride for atomic bomb or bombs. Even rumors that aside the missles from Russia to guard Irans nuclear installations. Iran is believed to now have electormoagnetic pulse (MEP) technology. A fake satellite going over American at about 280 miles above us, can explode releasing several pouns of enriched plutonium, blanketing the USA with gamma rays. Instatnly, all electrical pwer power is cut off instantly, and cut off for monthes. And our government says N. Korea has the capability too. Simple scuds missles can be used for this purpose....
the rest of the opinion

Yes, PR - in crime there is Incentive.

In power-grabbing there is Incentive.

In Thud and Blunder there's no incentive except to spend other people's money.

This is the bottom of the tar-baby pit.

You have to wonder whether big government is capable of protecting the citizens any longer:

- back to pre 9/11 mentality
- 4 bubbles cost trillions and collapse the economy in 10 years (Internet, Mortgages, Housing, Oil). Government is clueless about all of them, and caused at least two of them
- open borders
- Abu Graib, Haditha, Gitmo, waterboarding insanities
- trillions for global warming and the universal health scare. National Defense and Security are the only programs cut
- clueless about Internet Security
- and on and on

Our enemies are smarter than our government of fools in every respect.

Got a family member who is, literally, infamous, famous and The Man regarding IT security issues. Tim Berners Lee scale.

His take on federal IT security?

Money. They want to spend the IT-security necessary dollars on social issues, racial issues, anything and everything BUT what it takes to secure critical IT infrastructure. To say he's argued them into corners and they STILL won't do it, is to damn lightly by faint praise. Bullied in Congressional testimony until they no longer invite him behind closed doors. His exact words to me in March ... the chance that there won't be any online commerce by 2015 is above 80% because no one - from private sector to public has any idea just how good The Bad Guys are. Criminal gangs and criminal governments are the only ones pouring the necessary capital into developing the tools.

So, he quit. Threw away 30 years of trying to shed light. And went to farming. He's gone native and as low tech as possible.

This is no quitter. This is Sisyphus recognizing the rock of stupidity won't change.

Gird you loin, friends.
