Napolitano Wonders Why Illegals Were In Jail!

From ABC News:

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano Regrets Surprise Announcement of Immigrant Release

By JIM AVILA and SERENA MARSHALL | February 28, 2013

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano had no part in a decision by underlings to release low-risk illegal immigrant detainees as a way to save money before the sequestration and was surprised to learn about it, Napolitano told ABC News in an exclusive interview.

"Detainee populations and how that is managed back and forth is really handled by career officials in the field," Napolitano said.

Really? Even though, according to the Congressional committee overseeing ICE, they are mandated by Congress to detain 34,000 illegals. And they say that they can only be released after notifying Congress.

Napolitano added that the release, which has been criticized by congressional Republicans, was poorly timed.

"Do I wish that this all hadn’t been done all of a sudden and so that people weren’t surprised by it? Of course," she said.

So it’s only the timing that is bad? Not that it was an illegal act, again according to the Congressional committee that supervises them. Of course, in reality, the timing was clearly intentional. The administration was trying to fan the hysteria over the so-called sequester cuts.

But how come she wasn’t asked who has been punished for this illegal act? Instead, she was asked this:

When asked why the detainees were in jail in the first place, Napolitano replied, "That’s a good question. I’ve asked the same question myself … so we’re looking into it."

This is outrageous. These people were in jail because they broke US law. At the very least, they are in the country illegally.

But under Obama’s directives, they also must have had other prior criminal convictions. Or have been caught in the middle of some criminal activity. Or they were ignored prior deportation orders.

In fact, every released illegal alien the news media has focused on has had quite a serious criminal record. But Ms. Napolitano is only wondering why they were in jail in the first place?!

All of which again shows that they are trying to pander to La Raza and the ACLU and the other pro-amnesty groups, who are pushing to get all of these illegal aliens released, no matter how serious their criminal records are.

With the sequestration deadline looming over the country today, ABC News asked Napolitano if Americans should feel safe waking up in the morning. She said sequestration will have an effect on border security and safety.

Once again, according to Napolitano herself, ICE has a $2 billion dollar annual budget just for detaining 34,000 prisoners. If they still can’t detain them with a 1% reduction in spending, they should all resign.

"We are always going to put safety first, and that’s why we’re not going to be abbreviating our safety procedures or any of that," Napolitano said. "But, by way of example, the number of Border Patrol hours that will need to be reduced equates to the equivalent of 5,000 Border Patrol agents."

Yes, we saw how concerned she is about safety, when these criminals were released.

The cut, she said, would mean "the large narco traffickers, human smugglers," and other bad players could have easier access to the U.S. "We deal with a lot of bad actors and we will have fewer agents to do that with," she said. "We’ll have fewer hours that the Coast Guard is going to be patrolling along our maritime shores." …

This from the same administration that is pushing for amnesty and decriminalizing drugs.

And she insisted, it is not crying wolf to warn citizens they will see longer TSA lines at the airport and longer lines at the border. "I think a citizen is going to notice…

And she is going to make damn sure they do. Which is exactly why the illegal alien criminals were released.

DHS probably doesn’t realize they hired a driver for the bus they’re throwing all the Obama Amin people under.

Napolitiano, Joe Biden and now John Kerry telling the world Americans have the right to be stupid and they are tolerated.

Breit Bart showed many gaffs Kerry is making on his first Middle-East tour and he’s being made fun of and don’t even know it.

Kerry needs Hilllary’s Muslim assistant so he can communicate better.

Reuters: Kerry defends liberties, says Americans have “right to be stupid”

(Reuters) – Secretary of State John Kerry offered a defense of freedom of speech, religion and thought in the United States on Tuesday telling German students that in America “you have a right to be stupid if you want to be.”

“The reason is, that’s freedom, freedom of speech. In America you have a right to be stupid – if you want to be,” he said, prompting laughter.

“And we tolerate it. We somehow make it through that. Now, I think that’s a virtue. I think that’s something worth fighting for,” he added.

“I used to have great adventures.

My bicycle and I were best friends.

And I biked all around this city. I remember biking down Kurfuerstendamm and seeing nothing but rubble. This was in 1954 … the war was very much still on people’s minds,” he told the diplomats, referring to West Berlin’s main shopping avenue.

Usually it is the Middle-Eastern countries that demand Reuters correct typos, but paragraph 4 is only John Kerry talking stupid.
