NBC Sports Is ‘Partners’ With Anti-Redskins Tribe

From the Daily Caller:

NBC Sports partnered with Oneida casino prior to Costas Redskins rant

By Patrick Howley | October 23, 2013

The disputed Indian leader pushing to change the Redskins team name had already entered into an undisclosed television agreement with NBC Sports when Bob Costas delivered his on-air editorial condemning the Redskins name.

The Oneida Indian Nation’s Turning Stone Casino in upstate New York, overseen by gaming mogul and disputed Oneida Nation Representative Ray Halbritter, will host its first NBC “Fight Night” production November 16 with the IBF heavyweight title fight between Tomasz Adamek and Vyacheslav Glazkov.

NBC already had the deal in place to broadcast from Turning Stone when Bob Costas delivered a halftime editorial during NBC’s October 13 primetime broadcast of the Cowboys-Redskins game…

This is interesting to know, but we’re not sure that this is even necessary to explain Costas’ Redskin rant. After all, NBC "partnered" with Obama starting back in 2007. And Obama can do more for NBC than any Indian tribe will ever do.

NBC Sports did not disclose its ties to the Oneida Indian Nation at the time of Costas’ editorial.

Just as their news division does not disclose their ties to the Obama nation before their ‘news casts.’

Halbritter, who schmoozed with President Obama at a 2012 fundraiser, employs a crisis communications firm that also represents CashForGold.com and a lawyer who represents IRS scandal figure Lois Lerner as he struggles to protect a casino empire that underpays valid members of the Oneida Nation and has ordered home evictions of Oneida members harboring anti-Halbritter sentiment.

The Daily Caller revealed last week that Halbritter is not a legitimate member of the Oneida Indian Nation, which he leads as official Representative and CEO of the tribe’s affiliated corporation.

NBC Sports did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Don’t worry. The NBC news division will be all over all of these developments. Any minute now.

    Dear Mr Costas,

I like pro football. But because of your self-indulgent, guilt-inflicting tirade at halftime on 13 October, 2013, I have ceased watching NFL games entirely.

    Yes, it’s your fault.

Your fault for interjecting politics into an otherwise solid cornerstone of America. I detest people like you who can’t seem to refrain from inserting your desires for social change into your day-to-day job. The only reason I think for this is that you need your ego inflated and need to be thought of as a “game-changer” or “mover & shaker” inside the circles you inhabit.

You’re disgusting. You’re an immoral twit whose sole accolade is that you talk on TV. This does not qualify you for anything other than talking on TV. Yes, talking on TV is a skill, but not one for you to espouse your personal likes and dislikes.

Please tell your superiors at NBC that I have stopped watching Al Michaels because of you. Al has never inserted his personal beliefs into his profession and I have thought of him as the “voice of professional football” for decades. Hearing him on the TV means to me that Fall has officially arrived.

But as for you, throughout the years, if you’re the announcer, I have turned the sound off completely and now, again, because of your arrogance, I have stopped watching NFL football. This means I’m not subjected to the clever car and beer ads, but that I also have three hours of my day freed up because of your selfish idiocy.

Can’t wait til you’re gone for good.
