NBC To Air 4 Hour Hillary (Campaign) Mini-Series

From a breathless in anticipation Associated Press:

NBC to air Hillary Clinton miniseries

By LYNN ELBER | Associated Press | July 27, 2013

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — A Hillary Rodham Clinton miniseries timed to precede the 2016 presidential election is part of NBC’s effort to create "event" programming that will draw viewers to the shrinking world of broadcast network TV, NBC’s programming chief said Saturday.

"We need to be in the event business. I think you’re going to hear that from every broadcast network," said Bob Greenblatt, NBC Entertainment chairman.

So what is the ‘event’ here? Hillary running for President?

The four-hour miniseries "Hillary," starring Diane Lane as the former first lady and secretary of state, is one such bid for distinctive programming, he said.

But does Ms. Lane have the ‘gams’ to carry this off?

The goal is to woo viewers who are increasingly drawn away by cable TV’s eye-catching, critically acclaimed fare like "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad" and other media choices…

No, the goal is to put Hillary Clinton in the White House.

NBC [plans to offer up] big-ticket scripted fare including "Hillary" and other projects announced Saturday: "Rosemary’s Baby" a four-hour version of the Ira Levin novel that was adapted as a 1968 movie… A six-hour miniseries about Cleopatra is in development, Greenblatt said.

Hillary, Rosemary’s Baby and Cleopatra. — Yes, we see the pattern. It all makes sense now.

Although Clinton hasn’t announced her intention to seek the Democratic nomination for president, Greenblatt spoke as if her candidacy is expected. "Hillary" could air before Clinton announces her decision, but the timing has yet to be determined, Greenblatt said.

Hillary and NBC have to focus group the air date, to find out when the timing would be best for her election chances.

He didn’t address how such a miniseries, which will track Clinton’s life and career from 1998 to the present, might affect the presidential contest.

Funny how they picked 1998 as the cut-off date. 1998 is after the bimbo eruptions. It is also after Hillary’s making a hundred grand in cattle futures, Whitewater, Vince Foster, and Susan McDougal, the White House travel office scandal, the Rose law firm billing records, the 500 FBI files.

But, luckily, it will encompass Hillary’s solving ‘the troubles’ in Northern Ireland, as well as her surviving sniper fire in Kosovo. Or her fretting about Chelse being caught in 911.

But somehow we doubt they will spend too much time on how, as Secretary Of State, she and Obama lost at least five countries in the Middle East to Muslim extremists. Or how they watched (and quietly cheered) while more Central and South American countries went Communist.

In fact, they probably won’t the rampant scandals that plagued the State Department during her brief tenure, or even mention the four Americans lost in Benghazi on her watch.

The part of former President Bill Clinton has yet to be cast. Lane’s credits include the feature films "Unfaithful" and "Under the Tuscan Sun" and the TV movie "Cinema Verite." …

‘Unfaithful’ sounds like good practice for the role. Oh, wait. Lane is playing Hillary.

Who suggested that you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear?

And so….the theorum that you can pick up a turd by the clean end comes to the biographical mini-series.

    Well done, hollywood, bravo.

Oh oh oh, happy day. I got here first. Found on Michelle Malkin’s website a tweet …

“Diane Lane is a wonderful actress and our second choice to play Hillary. Our first choice was Philip Seymour Hoffman, but he is in rehab.” @NBC S.M.@redsteeze

    My bride pee’d herself LOL
    I spit on my keyboard

    Please, do pass this around

I thought Hillary Clinton WAS Rosemary’s baby. I don’t see what Cleopatra has to do with Hitlery. Unless it’s their similar management style. Cleopatra abused her minions too didn’t she?

I hope Diane Lane playing Hillary doesn’t go to her head.

Mellisa Etheridge would have been perfect and looked and played her part.

Diane Lane will never look the same. There will be no going back.

Dennis Rodman in drag showing off his arms would make a good candidate for a 1st lady movie.

    When Bill met Hillary

I hope they do this photo and scene.
Way back Hillary bragged in a documentary she was the one who asked Bill out so she was a woman’s libber way before her time. I’m not as old as them and we did not even call a boy, yet alone ask them out first. It meant you were an easy slut.

Oh, NBC is also planning some mini series on th pilgrims to go with this aforementioned schlock. Any guess how that will appear? Hapless white ignorami being saved by the local natives from their own stupidity, only to repay the favor by luring them to a dinner and gang raping, murdering an infecting the hoodwinked Indians. Historical fiction it’s called.

The consensus among conservative echo chambers I have visited is that Hillary has no prayer because of benghazi. I am not holding my breath. Dealing with four bodies isn’t nearly a roadblock to Clintonian success. Hell it’s not even a challenge. Bamster might not like the Clintons, but his dumping on Hillary will bear ugly fruit for him in the future I suspect. The Clintons do not forgive and forget. He will be a good little soldier whenever she decides to accept the throne from him, or he will become a politically non entity right quick.
