T. WHITELY WASPWOOD IV, Republican Grandee, stars in “Membahs Only”!

It was a quiet afternoon at the Newport Club (Membahs Only). T. Whitely Waspwood IV, Republican Grandee, was passing the time in the Librahry. The fluting call of a familiar voice made him raise his sculpted head from the copy of Hahper’s magazine he held in two soft, pink hands.

“I say, Waspy! What ho?”

It was J. Coddington Codsworth, his old chum from Groton.

“What ho, Coddy?”

“I say, what about those election results, Waspy? Bit of a rum business, what?”

“Wars thah an election, Coddy? How extwaordinary. I had no ideah. Who won?”

“I believe it was that O’Brien fellow”.

“My Gahd –not another Irishman!” choked Whitely.

“Sorry, old man – my mistake. It’s pronounced ‘Obamah’. He’s the colored chappy”.

“Well, that’s alright then” said a relieved Waspy. “I expect Cook will be pleased. At least we’ve seen the lahst of that awful Palin woman”.

“Oh yars” agreed Coddy. “That, that…creature… she wasn’t ouah sort at tall”.

“My heavens, no. Popular with the plebs, though”.

“Yars, well: I nevah said the ordinary people don’t hahve their uses, Waspy. We do need to stir them up once in a blue moon, throw them a bit of the old red meat dontcha know, but I mean, really…”

“Quite” tutted his old college bedmate, sorry –roommate. “As long as they nevah get ideahs above their station, what?”

“Quite, quite” concurred Coddy. “Aftah all, this is OUAH pahty, what?”

"Membahs Only!" said Waspy.

NCJ,

They were probably a couple of Log Cabin Republicans. And I must admit I share your sentiments!

All this is is the liberals running for 2012. They know damn well that a Palin/Jindal ticket (my God that just sounds right) would be impossible to overcome.
No one person ever got conseratives pumped up like her.

'And exactly who would be offended by Sarah Palin sailing into a room wearing nothing but a towel?'
Not I. In fact..... um, let's not go there.

Hi Exeter,

I just finished sending him a message regarding this via his Senate contact form. Basically I expressed that I feel his silence regarding this personal mauling of Gov. Palin during and after his campaign indicates a lot regarding his character IMO.

To all my fellow S&L'ers:

The site I've linked to below:

is one made for all of us well-wishers to thank John McCain for his fecklessly valiant tilt at the Obama windmill. I used it instead to chew McCain's ear off about what his former staffers are doing to Palin, and that he better get his poop in a group and stop it. I encourage all of you to do the same. Like everyone else, I let a moderate represent me; I let a moderate lose the election for me; but I am NOT going to let a moderate let his loyal running mate (and a lady, no less) take the fall for his f***-ups!

More, from the Los Angeles Times:

Lawyer to retrieve Palin's clothes

By Maeve Reston and Seema Mehta

PHOENIX — Sarah Palin left the national stage Wednesday, but the controversy over her role on the ticket flared as aides to John McCain disclosed new details about her expensive wardrobe purchases and revealed that a Republican Party lawyer would be dispatched to Alaska to inventory and retrieve the clothes still in her possession.

Tensions have simmered for much of the last month between aides loyal to McCain and those loyal to Palin, but they erupted in the wake of the Republican nominee's defeat, as both sides spoke freely — but anonymously — about the wardrobe controversy and other conflicts.

Two aides to McCain and two to Palin discussed the tensions but asked that their names not be revealed, saying they were not comfortable speaking openly about internal operations.

The miscommunication and quarrels between the two camps continued as late as Tuesday night, said McCain aides familiar with the situation. Palin arrived at the Arizona Biltmore planning to deliver her own speech before McCain's concession speech, they said, but was told by McCain's senior aides Steve Schmidt and Mark Salter that would not be appropriate.

Fox News reported Wednesday that Palin's lack of knowledge on certain topics also strained relations. Carl Cameron reported that campaign sources told him she had resisted coaching before her faltering Katie Couric interviews; did not understand that Africa was a continent, not a country; and could not name the three countries that are part of the North American Free Trade Agreement — the United States, Canada and Mexico.

For weeks, the McCain-Palin campaign has been dealt with the fallout from the disclosure that the Republican National Committee was billed for $150,000 in wardrobe purchases for the Palin family — a discovery that was widely ridiculed and undercut Palin's hockey mom appeal.

Several McCain aides said they had recently discovered that Palin's traveling staff had used their personal credit cards to spend as much as $20,000 to $30,000 more on wardrobe items for Palin as she has campaigned around the country in recent weeks.

Palin and many of her aides were traveling back to Alaska Wednesday afternoon and could not be reached for comment.

The original $150,000 in purchases was revealed in late October after the release of the September and October Federal Election Commission filings by the Republican National Committee. Those reports revealed that more than $75,062.63 was spent at Neiman Marcus, $49,425.74 at Saks Fifth Avenue and $5,102.71 at Bloomingdales around the time of the Republican National Convention in early September.

The campaign has said that many of those clothes were returned.

But McCain aides said Wednesday that spending on Palin's wardrobe continued well after the convention, with one custom-made outfit showing up around the time of her Saturday Night Live appearance Oct. 18. …

http://www.denverpost.com/popular/ci_10914644

Remember, the more of these stories get into the press and into Google-searchable databases, the more thorough the destruction.

When the claims of these staffers are eventually refuted, the stories will be in the print editions only, and then on page A-34.

When Schmidt learned that Palin's staff was putting clothing purchases on their personal credit cards — to be reimbursed later — aides said he called them to stop it. Palin aides tell a different story. Several close to the governor said Wednesday that Palin was outraged by the amount of money being spent on her clothing and that she was naive about what the clothes cost.

"The very first day of shopping, there was a $14,000 price tag and ... she was absolutely shocked," one of the Palin aides said.

She was not pleased by what had been selected for her, the aide said, adding that "a lot of that stuff that was purchased was never worn by her — that was by her choice." When the shopping spree hit the press, she appeared frustrated, and she told audiences that she wears a lot of her own clothing and hadn't asked for the lavish purchases.

Resentments had started to brew earlier. Palin was not comfortable with the team of handlers sent in by party headquarters to manage her appearances, and there were frequent conflicts between the staff at headquarters and her traveling staff. Palin felt constrained by the fact that she had little decision-making power, and questioned the directions being given to her by the campaign, an aide said.

In an interview with CNN Wednesday, Palin denied that there were tensions between the McCain camp and her own. But that is at odds with accounts from aides on both sides. The strained relationship worsened, the aides said, after Palin was recorded talking to a Canadian comedian who pretended to be French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Campaign staffers said McCain's top aides were blindsighted by the Sarkozy call, which they said was arranged by Palin's top foreign policy aide Steve Biegun.

McCain aides said the Palin camp did notify McCain's senior staff or the State Department of the supposed contact. Outraged, Schmidt organized a conference call immediately. He demanded to know who arranged the call, and questioned why anyone would have agreed to such an unusual request and then fail to clear it with top staff, McCain aides said.

Biegun immediately took responsibility. In an interview Wednesday, he said some aides at McCain headquarters were in fact aware of the call, and that it had been on the schedule for "a couple days." "I was fooled," he said Wednesday night. "No one's going to beat me up more than I beat myself up for setting up the governor like that."

How dare Palin do anything without begging McCain's campaign staff for permission first.

Once again proving how those in charge of the McCain campaign were a bunch of incompetent, power hungry thugs, and the MSM is just rolling in the floor laughing, unable to catch their collective breath watching the accusations fly and seeing "that woman" "get hers."

(I'm not kidding with that, I've seen more than one post on various web sites with Tina Fey's picture because they "just can't post a picture of that woman.")

Needless to say the left is also enjoying commenting on the press articles, letting loose with comments with "Boy,, we really dodged a bullet here" and "Typical Republican hypocrisy."

http://www.denverpost.com/popular/ci_10914644

Remember, the more of these stories get into the press and into Google-searchable databases, the more thorough the destruction.

When the claims of these staffers are eventually refuted, the stories will be in the print editions only, and then on page A-34.

When Schmidt learned that Palin’s staff was putting clothing purchases on their personal credit cards — to be reimbursed later — aides said he called them to stop it. Palin aides tell a different story. Several close to the governor said Wednesday that Palin was outraged by the amount of money being spent on her clothing and that she was naive about what the clothes cost.

“The very first day of shopping, there was a $14,000 price tag and … she was absolutely shocked,” one of the Palin aides said.

She was not pleased by what had been selected for her, the aide said, adding that “a lot of that stuff that was purchased was never worn by her — that was by her choice.” When the shopping spree hit the press, she appeared frustrated, and she told audiences that she wears a lot of her own clothing and hadn’t asked for the lavish purchases.

Campaign staffers said McCain’s top aides were blindsighted by the Sarkozy call, which they said was arranged by Palin’s top foreign policy aide Steve Biegun.

McCain aides said the Palin camp did notify McCain’s senior staff or the State Department of the supposed contact. Outraged, Schmidt organized a conference call immediately. He demanded to know who arranged the call, and questioned why anyone would have agreed to such an unusual request and then fail to clear it with top staff, McCain aides said.

Biegun immediately took responsibility. In an interview Wednesday, he said some aides at McCain headquarters were in fact aware of the call, and that it had been on the schedule for “a couple days.” “I was fooled,” he said Wednesday night. “No one’s going to beat me up more than I beat myself up for setting up the governor like that.”

How dare Palin do anything without begging McCain’s campaign staff for permission first.

Once again proving how those in charge of the McCain campaign were a bunch of incompetent, power hungry thugs, and the MSM is just rolling in the floor laughing, unable to catch their collective breath watching the accusations fly and seeing “that woman” “get hers.”

(I’m not kidding with that, I’ve seen more than one post on various web sites with Tina Fey’s picture because they “just can’t post a picture of that woman.”)

Needless to say the left is also enjoying commenting on the press articles, letting loose with comments with “Boy,, we really dodged a bullet here” and “Typical Republican hypocrisy.”

Just call it the "Conservative Party" and state that it represents the true values of the real America...

unlike the GOP. unlike the DEMs. Unlike their Masters, the rest of the world's opinion.

We gotta do something, this two party crap certainly isnt working worth a damn. It's like getting to elect Ebola or Cholera to infect yourself with.

I really don't trust any "anon" source. If you aren't man or woman enough to come out and put a name/face to your word, why should I trust you? Further, does the media really think that they have any credability left after this election? If I were in a hotel room with hubby I'd come out of the shower in a towel. Really she probably didn't even know they were there. Did they call first? Have an appointment? Most people haven't even caught the dig on Palin's hubby, she told us to talk to her 'laconic' husband -meaning he speaks with very few words. It can mean concise but given the tenor of the rest of the article it was probably meant to have us thinking he isn't very intelligent. Really, as if any of us would find it strange that any straight man isn't chatty Cathy . I think the media has seen her ability to relate to the common people, energize the base of the party and are trying their hardest to discredit her. In four more years of being a gov or senator or whatever (remember she gets to appoint a replacement to the just reelected senator because of his felony conviction) the biggest excuse they have - her inexperience- will be null and void. After all how long did their messiah have? Besides historically we tend to pick our Presidents from the Governors, so she has that in her favor. The shine is going to wear off of Obama pretty fast especially if the economy keeps tanking. She needs to keep studing foreign policy and economics and come back in 2012 so we can have another historic election.

"I too join 1sttofight in calling for the establishment of another viable party....."

Dang, 1st, I just read your comment. I agree wholeheartedly. Maybe it IS feasible to start a Third Party. I think it should be researched, organized and then, have Gov. Sarah Palin make the announcement of the new Party. She could say, "The Republican Party no longer represents the Conservative set of ideals, values and principles and for this reason, we have established the ______________ (To be named later) Party". It would encompass the belief system of many Conservatives from both sides of the aisle. This election marked the death of the present Republican Party. It was mostly Conservatives that carried this election anyway. IMHO....The Conservative Movement has to be redefined since the Republican image/name has too much baggage attached to it and I don't see it recovering anytime soon. Plus, the Party has become so divided.

....oh well, I can dream can't I? Sigh.

I don't believe what the McCain "staffers" are putting out regarding Sarah Palin.

They are cowardly moderate republicans attempting to make Palin a poster girl for "failed" conservative ideology.

This is evidence of the war that is about to erupt within the RNC: Moderate vs Conservative, and it is the moderate's goal to pre-empt any involvement by Sarah Palin. (Jindal will probably be next). Regardless, there is a real fight brewing for the direction the party will take. I say that as long as there are democrats to vote for, why vote for a moderate Republican?

McCain is a moderate. I was surprised and dismayed that he chose to fight this campaign the same way the Democrats waged war in Viet Nam: No bombing of Hanoi, etc.

McCain wouldn't go after Obama's real ties to scurrilous individuals and organizations. He refused to challenge Obama's socialist ideas. He dared not to call a spade a spade...

...But Sarah Palin did, and now she will pay for her courageous efforts to defeat the socialists, and at the hands of her own party!

I read where Gingrich may come back to chair the RNC. I pray this is true. The Republican Party has taken a decided swing to the left since Gingrich and Delay retired. If Gingrich comes back to the RNC, Sarah Palin will receive the respect she deserves, and we might get a genuine conservative candidate who isn't afraid to take on the far left or the moderates of her own party.

Moving the RNC to the left isn't the solution. Conservative values and ideas win, when they're on the ballot, such as prop 8 in Ca. Moderate Republicans lose, such as John McCain.

McCain didn't fight for us. Sarah Palin did, God bless her.

When is McCain going to denounce these staffers? I'll bet he won't. Afterall, he'd rather move his party to left than defend a great conservative and fine person like Sarah Palin.

Shame on you, John Mccain!

I’ve heard it suggested that Sarah should take Steven’s senate seat if its vacated. This way she can learn how to behave in Washington. What’s so great about how Washington and/or senators behave? Maybe Schmidt and Salter would prefer their meetings in Barney Frank’s hotel room.

IMO she should leave that party of feeble morons. They play by rules the liberals make for them and put up a candidate favored by media (temporarily) but disliked by the party’s base. Brilliant! Maybe after Hagel ends his service in the Obama administration the RNC can run him. The left will lie, cheat and steal to win elections and their media will cover for them. We can’t defeat that without bold strength and real conviction. The RNC falls way short and time is trickling away.

I too join 1sttofight in calling for the establishment of another viable party to counter the overstuffed shirts that are tossing Sarah to the media wolfs. She was the breath of fresh air the GOP needed and now they (GOP) are Sheehan ing her as did the DNC to Cindy after they no longer needed her for their agenda. Call it the "Barracuda" Party because we all know what barracudas do in a feeding frenzy. I don't care, call it what you like! All I know is I like Sarah and Sarah Loves this country!! ALL OF IT!!
