Nixon Demands ‘Vigorous Prosecution’ (Of Darren Wilson)

From the Daily Caller:

Gov. Nixon Calls For ‘Vigorous Prosecution’ Of Darren Wilson

By Chuck Ross | August 20, 2014

Not content with a regular prosecution or a vigorous investigation, Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon said he hopes that Ferguson, Missouri, police officer Darren Wilson will receive a “vigorous prosecution” in the shooting death of Michael Brown on Aug. 9.

“A vigorous prosecution must now be pursued,” Nixon said in a five minute video address posted to his website Tuesday… “Their obligation to achieve justice in the shooting death of Michael Brown must be carried out thoroughly, promptly, and correctly,” said Nixon of investigators…

And never mind that justice in this case might not involve any prosecution at all, if Officer Wilson did not commit a crime. And officials are supposed to give everyone, even white man police officers, the presumption of innocence.

In fact, the only clear-cut crime we have so far is the robbery of the convenience store. Is that what Mr. Nixon is talking about? Hasn’t Michael Brown been punished enough?

Nixon has not directly justified his call for a strong prosecution. He has not indicated that he has any information on the shooting that has not been made public…

If the governor isn’t careful he might give Nixons a bad name.

“We have a responsibility to come together to do everything we can for this family, peace for this community, and have the courage to address the problems that have divided us for too long,” Nixon said, citing the problems “of poverty, education, and race.”

As usual, the rioters and looters are not blamed for anything. After all, Gov. Nixon is a loyal Democrat, which is the party of rioters and looters.

Nixon, who said he recently met and prayed with Brown’s mother, called Ferguson “a test.”

But, thankfully, just like Obama, Gov. Nixon is not pre-judging the case so as not to tip the scales of justice.

“So I ask that we continue to stand together as we work to achieve justice for Michael Brown, restore hope and peace to the streets of Ferguson, and march together toward a future of greater opportunity for all of us.” …

What if Michael Brown got justice?

Nixon: Let’s give him a fair trial and then hang him!

Given the present state of grand juries (see Texas, Travis County, also Perry, Rick), this doesn’t bode well for Wilson. Even if he’s cleared of any wrongdoing, Eric Withholder will step in and lay federal charges.
